Place is perfect for peole whose gonna go and hike the diamond head. You can also park here for free then just walk your way to the entrance. There’s a lot of shades around. A lot of tables too for picnic. There’s also a part of the park where you can do bar exercise. Just near the restroom. There’s also a museum of some sort near the entrance All I saw was there was a band playing drums. You can hear them all over the park. I was not able to visit that place since I was so fixated on getting to diamond head! Great place.

I may be biased by the fact that I live a run-able distance nearby, making this the perfect workout spot for me. I usually run up and down the KCC hill and then make my way around to this workout station and in my opinion it is the most perfect overall workout that I could get for the great price of $ 0. Relatively new and located next to the vehicle entrance of Diamond Head Trail, the Bryan Clay Exercise Park has multiple machines for arms, back, sit ups, pull ups, ellipticals, etc. It basically has the efficient and body-weight powered version of your usual gym machines but available to the everyone without the cost. The machines are awesome in that they don’t use typical weights, they simply use your body weight as resistance. There are also small instructional stickers on most of the machines with diagrams to show you if you’re simply just starting out :) Overall, if you live nearby or are in the area after hiking the Diamond Head trail, I definitely recommend stopping by and getting the most out of your physical work out day. It’s fun, people in this neighborhood are generally friendly, and you’ll also get a nice view while working out. What’s better than that!

As I was running around Diamond Head I came upon this area. I didn’t know it was a park at the time. It’s located across KCC on the newly paved Fort Ruger pathway. The park has a few body resistance machines to use so you don’t need to use weight and anyone can do it. The equipment has instructions and all work different things. It’s a great stop to take a break at if you’re running by to do some exercises or if you are at the KCC Farmers Market across the street to burn a few calories.

Opened and dedicated in late 2013, this exercise park with body-weight resistance fitness machines is quite well-maintained. This exercise area was named in honor of 2008 Summer Olympic Decathlon Gold Medalist Bryan Clay who inspired many Hawaii’s residents. It was a gift from fitness pioneer/entrepreneur, Clark Hatch, and the Diamond Head State Monument Foundation. The park is located along the newly opened and paved 1.3 mile long Fort Ruger Pathway on the Mauka exterior slope of the Diamond Head State Monument. The pathway is an accessible, multi-user(walk, cycle or run) stretch that also features picnic tables and rest stops. The pathway provides better access to Diamond Head State Monument for visitors or residents from Waikiki. Prior to its creation, there was either one narrow pedestrian sidewalk or no sidewalk along the slopes of Diamond Head Road for those walking up from their Waikiki hotels. Whether you’re visiting or live here, you can stop here to get in a body weight resistance workout while catching in a cardio workout from hiking, walking, running or biking to get here. Plus, you’ll enjoy the scenery along the slopes of Diamond Head.

Love this place! We usually go for a run through Diamond Head and stop off here to do a little workout before heading back to Kapiolani Park. Most times breezy and cool because it’s very early in the day and if you need a picker-upper, go across the street to the KCC Open Market(Saturdays) and have something refreshing to drink. The concrete area is about 1-mile and has some nice sit down spots under trees. Didn’t realize how much history the place has!

Whereas the Parcourse FitCenter across the street is all bars and benches, this outdoor gym is all machines. Never really too crowded, despite the tourists that walk by for the hike. The exercise area of diamond head park is geared more towards fitness enthusiasts. Equipment works fine, all contain instructions on the machines, and all are fairly new and easy to use. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to a fitness club membership, then this is it.
