Huge amount of shaved ice and random assortment of food on the menu. Definitely a nice snack shack to come and visit. If I remember correctly, it’s cash only.

After 14 years of business and I’ve been coming here for most of that time I just love this place. The burgers though a small healthy proportion can have teriyaki or not, but ask for extra pickles and onions, the fresh vegetables on an onion roll make this a super tasty fresh sandwich that tastes terrific and light. Go elsewhere for a big fat greasy burger, there are places nearby. The Bolba is always a treat and made fresh, and shaved ice is the best. I highly recommend this place and say hello to Sarah the very friendly and smiling owner. I rate this five stars based on great value for superb healthy food. It is not a formal place at all, swimsuits and very open, so please understand that this rating is not to be compared with Morimotos or Alan Wongs type prestigious restaurants. This is a hole in the wall that is worth the visit, you can easily get your food to go, in my case to go across the street to the condo to eat…

Oh my gosh it’s like heaven in your mouth!!!
I found this place as we walked down to the beach. And it’s delightful!
We literally came here about almost every day while on vacation. The kids loved it. And it wasn’t as expensive as other Hawaiian shaved ice places. Customer service is great!
And the amount of shave ice you get is perfect for sharing. It’s a small place but really who need to sit down to devour a shaved ice!!! Lol
Must try!

I like it that they have my favorite red bean and condensed milk kind of shaved ice, instead of just adding colored syrup. Owner lady was very nice. It’s closed to Waikiki beach so it’s a good spot to go after soaking int the hot Hawaiian sun all day.

A few months back, I stayed in Waikiki for 10 days. Out of these 10 days, I visited Coconut Café 3 times as they were the closest and best-​rated shave ice shop near our hotel. With a group of about 20 of us, we headed to Coconut Café expecting a looong wait for all of the shave ice to be made (though we ended up sharing about 12 shave ice– still a lot). It was less than 15 minutes for all of them to be made!
The flavors they offer are similar to other places, but they are flavorful. A great combination was the Strawberry, POG, and Lilikoi!
After we received our shave ice, we walked across the street to sit on a nearby rock wall, and returned to throw away our trash. The owner was very friendly and thanked us for coming and giving them business.
I will definitely be back here as they offer tasty shave ice and a great atmosphere!

Stopped here after a long hot walk down Kuhio. Loved the shaved ice here and the rest of my family had the bubble milk tea. Large serving of Hawaiian ice! The best and I will go here again and again! The lady that works there was super friendly and made our visit even better! Went back the next day and had a delicious crab sandwich!

Good shaved ice but then again I don’t know better, I don’t really eat that much shaved ice to compare. Fast service even though there was only one person working. She was excellent with multitasking!
*honeydew slush is good too. Skip boba balls.

Wanna know something sad? I have dreams about this place when I haven’t been there recently enough. Sometimes I have nightmares– like I’m wandering around Waikiki trying to find it and keep getting lost. I literally ADORE this place. ADORE it. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. When I am in Hawaii, I make a point of coming here every day– I’ve been known to come here 3 times a day. This is the place that taught me what shaved ice is REALLY all about– not those horrible little snow cones with those ice granules that flavor melts around but doesn’t even begin to get into. Shaved ice has flavor in each and every bite– it’s like eating flavored layers of snow (and not the yellow kind). Coconut Café has fantastic flavors and variations, too. My only 2 issues with this place are that they aren’t open long enough hours for my 2 a.m. cravings and I have to travel 10 hours round-​trip to get there.

The lady that runs the place is very nice and the prices are great! My wife took my son for a walk earlier not knowing the store closed at 5:30, they arrived at 5:45 and the owner was nice enough to serve my son. Most business in Waikiki would slam their door in your face the second 5:30 came around, not this place and we will definitely come again (before closing next time). Highly recommend this place!

Great Taiwanese slush BOBA drinks with REAL SUGAR CANE Syrup, which adds amazing flavor. Favorites were Green Mocha & Coffee Mocha. Great owners, super super friendly. We go there and have our boba fixes every day that we ere there. So Thank you Coconut Café for making our Wakiki trip a sweet one!

This place has awesome shave ice! And they give you 3 flavors and icecream or mochi balls all for under $ 5. and the serving of shave ice is huge!

This is the the only game in town for me, real shaved ice is my delight.
Azuki bean and condensed milk is what I seek!
No snow cone fake outs here, it’s great. Super service and fair pricing.
Close enough to the beach and central to most of wikiki.

Coconut Café is right across the street from the hotel we’re staying in, so we decided to give it a shot. At least it’s cheap. $ 4 for 3 flavors on a HUGE cap of shredded ice. Not the worst shave ice I’ve had, but also not the best. Three types of syrup were added to my ice, but there was still a lot of white, so sometimes it felt like I was eating snow. Also, $ 1 for a condensed milk topping is steep — I feel like I should’ve gotten more than just a few squeezes on the top layer.

My girlfriend and I had a running joke about this place. That it was owned by surfer dudes who were too busy trying to catch waves rather than customers.
Because of the 6 nights we spent in Hawaii, we were able to step in once. The hours are crap. I’m guestimating its opened for 3 hours a day. And that’s why I’m giving this 2 stars.
It’s inexpensive, the shaved ice was pretty good… but its shaved ice, you don’t write home about shaved ice even if it made you poop gold flakes… okay well, you would.
If by happenstance you walk by and its opened. Go get your shaved ice, or you may never see it opened again for the rest of your trip.

I love Coconut Café — their tiger’s blood bubble drink is the best I’ve ever had. The service is fast and friendly enough, and the location is perfect. I went to Coconut Café probably 5 times last summer when I was in Oahu for a week, so I decided to go back there yesterday when I was in Honolulu. It was still just as great.
Also, I ordered just a regular tiger’s blood bubble drink with extra bubble (boba), and the lady making the drink made about 50% extra and just gave it to us in a smaller cup. It was really nice of her to give us extra instead of just thowing it away. :)
