A small place near Ilima’s catering in Mapunapuna. Good comfort local foods and fast service. In and Out is the way to go lol…

Just ate here. The prices are reasonable with a very interesting selection of combinations for specials such as chili frank Kalua pig. Maybe it was just an off day. I ordered the hamburger curry and fried chicken combination plate. The curry had a very unusual aftertaste not good or bad just very different. The salad was just package salad with dressing no problem there but the chicken. Yipes! It was good that is was boneless and it had good flavor but it was soooo greasy I had to put it in a toaster oven for a good 8 min and a ton of grease(more grease than I have ever seen) cAme out of it. I wouldn’t condemn D’s but I don’t think I will be ordering the chicken again. Maybe I will try them again and they might be better.

Well it does have 2 things working for them, its close to home for me and its pretty cheap. The best thing I can say is its a Mapunapuna eatery. This is not a bad thing, but don’t expect gourmet. For plate lunches less than 6 bucks, I’m pretty happy. Now if you are looking for plate lunches, your 3 main choices are Masas, Ilima and D’s. Yes there are other plate lunch places and lunchwagons but these are the main 3 in fact they are right next to each other. Now I like D’s Kitchen because they have a great selection of breakfast and an interesting array of lunch choices. Check out their daily specials. You won’t be blown away of their food, but you will walk away pretty satisfied with more money in your pocket. Breakfast please at D’s
