First time trying their food and got their $ 10.95 combo(2 choice). In addition to the fish and chicken parmesan that I got it also came with a small green salad. There was a lot of other choices to choose from so definitely will be back to sample them. There’s also live music being played on certain days, not sure which ones but it does enhance the atmosphere.

Really good local spot, lots of variety and never gets old. When ordering a plate, must get with the saffron rice! All the selections are healthy but full of taste and worth every penny. Everything looked so delicious, making it difficult to decide. Staff is so accommodating and nice. They let you sample the sauce to see whether it’s to your liking. Highly recommend the Malaysian curry, lots of herbs and very tasty… hint of spice! So good!

After waiting by the counter for 5 minutes with no service and 4 employees ignoring the line of customers I walked out. Never going back.

The food is good here. Love the saffron rice, however, as we ate our salad today, I found a hair in there and my cousin found a fly in his salad at the bottom when he was almost done eating it. We were both disgusted. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like the food! But nothing can ruin your experience like finding a hair and a mosquito in your salad.

Not what I expected. Food quality wasn’t good. Tables were dirty and parking situation was bad.

It’s been over a year since I’ve been here but have gone here several times in the past and enjoyed the entrees they serve here. It’s different from your usual plate lunches you’d get at a regular take out place. They serve Mediterranean ethnic food that I’d like to think is on the healthier side. They give reasonable portions that a mini plate at $ 6 would be filling enough to leave you satisfied. I tried the cajun garlic roasted chicken that had two chicken breast filled with their specialty sauce all over along with toss salad. It was really good and the menu has lots of choices to choose from. Service was friendly but there should be more than just one worker especially during lunch since it got pretty busy and there was only 1 person handling the food and the register so it took quite a while. I tried the 3 brownies at the register. It was hard as rock. I wouldn’t recommended it unless you like that healthy hard tasting dessert. I’m glad they finally got a place to park now for Da Spot. There’s a big yellow sign that will direct you to the parking area on Hausten St. Overall, great local vibe and definitely get your bang for your buck here!

This place is super good, different approach but very tasty on food. Going to try everything here. As I am on the kerogen if diet it’s hard to find food. Third palace has a lot of meat and veggies options and a salad is always with each order. So hell yea. Going to come back all the time.

I’ve been in Oahu for 3 weeks now. From all the places I’ve been, and we’re eating out everyday, this is my favorite. I love Mediterranean food. My favorite is the Moroccan Chicken & Egyptian Lamb Shank! I also order pita bread each time. It’s made to order, love it! They were delicious and their fresh juices are so good as well!

When I first heard the name of this place, thoughts of local plate lunches came to mind. Now that I’ve tried the food, I know how it got its name: the food hits da spot in your tummy! We ordered combo plates, which includes two entrees, choice of starch(saffron rice or brown rice), and green salad. There’s an option to substitute the salad with specialty salad for $ 2 more. If you’re on a low carb diet, ask for all salad. Everything looked so delicious, making it difficult to decide. Staff is so accommodating and let you sample the sauce to see whether it’s to your liking. For entrees, we ordered two kinds of snapper(one curry style in coconut milk and the other in tomato sauce) and two kinds of chicken(Moroccan chicken and Parmesan chicken). I got one scoop of each kind of rice and green salad with papaya seed dressing. Combo plate is $ 10, one entrée $ 8, and mini for $ 6. Smoothies are available for $ 3 — $ 5(small to large). Baklava and brownies go for $ 1.50 each. Reasonable prices for ono food!

This might actually be a 4.5, but a) that’s not an option and b) I really was quite impressed with this place. The steady stream of customers during the two or so hours we were there would indicate that I’m not the only one who likes this place a lot. The food was fresh, tasty, abundant, and very reasonably priced. We had two combo plates, so four entrees — a curry red snapper(not overcooked and fresh, not fishy), the red fire chicken(very meaty), a yellow curry chicken(more vegetables than chicken), and some terrific lamb shank. They had two kinds of rice — a saffron white rice(too mushy, more like a polenta) and brown rice(just right). The combo plates and sandwiches(which we’ll have to try next time) come with a complimentary salad. The flavors were generally good, though we could have used more heat; to be fair, we often feel that way here on Oahu, where the food is inevitably on the mild side for us. We also indulged with a Sweet Express smoothie(recommended by an enthusiastic employee), and it was… sweet. That was predictable, given that it’s made from fruit, sorbet, and juice, but it was still a little much. Next time, we’ll ask if there’s an alternative that’s not quite so sweet. The kicker was that they have live jazz on Thursday nights from 7 – 9:30p, and the band was outstanding. We love venues with live music, so that was a big selling point for us. Parking is free in a lot down the street from the restaurant — a nice touch. Service was friendly and helpful. This was a win and we WILL be back.

The food here is very flavorful and filling. Great place to get a healthy fix at a reasonable price. I’ll definitely become a regular here, the only downside is the lack of parking. Recommendations: Moroccan chicken Egyptian chicken curry Coconut herb chicken And definitely the papaya seed dressing for the salad!

I came in about 20 minutes before they opened so this whole ordeal is partly my fault, but I was greeted by a nice lady towards the entrance to whom I asked if I should come back. She told me to just see if the front could help me so I did. The boy who«helped me» was very blunt that they were not open yet and had an unpleasant demeanor all throughout the exchange. I noticed that he also got scolded by another employee about not doing or finishing some task to which he replied«I had to help her»(her as in me). I’ve also actually worked in the food industry before so I understand the stress that comes with dealing with customers sometimes. However, as a patron, I expect a certain level of respect which I did not get today. I love the food so I’ll be back but this one incident did not sit well with me.

I got married last week, and my husband I were so happy when Da Spot agreed to cater for us. We had a total of three trucks/booths for our wedding, and they fit perfectly with the vibe we were going for. It felt super personalized, as they let us make menu modifications and were flexible in many ways. My only regret is that I didn’t get to try one of every menu item that they offered! Not only were the portions perfect for 125 guests, but they also filled a short notice cancellation from another food truck vendor, so A+ on responsiveness and menu variety: –Veggie Balls(like falafel, same same, but different) –Spanikopita –Mac Nut pesto shrimp –Thai chicken spring rolls –Laosin chicken skewers And so much more, but really a very special and unique menu for our wedding!

If I didn’t know that this was the name of this business, I would be utterly confused if a friend asked me if I wanted to go to «Da Spot.» It’s like saying«da kine,» «da place,» or «da stuff.» Completely local, but very ambiguous. Da Spot is anything but vague though! Their Mediterranean food is so flavorful and healthy. It also makes me happy that all they want is $ 8 for their regular sized plates. For $ 2 more you can get a combo plate which means you get to choose two main dishes. A smoothie bigger than Jamba Juice’s ones can be had here for about $ 5 each. Acai bowls are also available. If you wish to have something other than baby greens for salad, you can upgrade for $ 2 more. Da Spot has a wide variety of other salads. I like to keep things simple and just get a regular plate with green salad. I love their papaya seed dressing! Unfortunately, there is no parking except for street parking, but don’t let that stop you from coming here. Live entertainment can be found here also some nights of the week. It is nice to watch sometimes.

I discovered this place by accident because I thought on Unilocal it was a food truck. This place isn’t a food truck and it’s amazing. One of my friends is a vegetarian and doesn’t eat dairy. Coincidentally my wife and I gave up gluten for lent. No joke, this place worked out for everyone. My portion was large. I tried the Moroccan chicken and it was heavenly. The flavors collided in my mouth like a supernova!!! The girl behind the counter poured some of the sauce over the rice, which was amazing. The sauce, I can’t describe it. I ordered some spicy, salsa-esque Indian flavor dish that was also amazing. By dish, everything was on one plate to include the salad. The pineapple cucumber sauce(I think) wasn’t bad. Whatever they had in the two juice containers was amazing also. I could’ve drank cup after cup of it. My friend tried the pineapple lemon ginger and we got the pineapple, orange mint drink. As I said, both were smooth and delicious. No one talked the entire meal. We were silent, except for the sounds of gorging faces knee deep in food. They allow pets, as if this place wasn’t cool enough! Solid establishment!

Make good connections with the servers, for that will depend on how much food they will stack on your plate. This place a is a great post activity joint. After the beach, when me and my buddies are starving and looking for a place that doesn’t make you feel like a little fat boy — Da Spot is always the choice. Their food is healthy yet delicious! A mini plate is $ 6 and a regular is $ 8. Not too shabby. I recommend spending the extra two dollars. The meat is substantially served in larger quantities than the mini so don’t be a cheapie and fork out the extra two Washingtons. The only issue, personally, is the amount of rice. They have this baby sized rice scooper that makes me want to cry every time I stare at it. Coming from a Pacific Islander upbringing, rice is a huge staple in my diet. This problem may not apply to all you reading this, but it does for me particularly. So all you rice lovers, don’t expect a great amount here. Other than that, they top their plates off with crazy fire salads that compliment the hot food perfectly — adding a lighter feel to the dish. Get the papaya dressing! I feel like one of those skinny instagram models whenever I eat it. Definitely makes your tummy feel sexy. If you happen to have a female date with you, grab her one of them smoothies. Females love smoothies. What an affordable way to make them happy! Da Spot is Da Kine. Go go go!

I head to Da Spot when I’m looking for something tasty and affordable. They have a good rotating selection of ready made red meat, chicken, fish, and vegetarian entrees. Think Moroccan Chicken, Egyptian Chicken, Eggplant Parmesan, Thai Curry, Lemon-Herb Talapia, Lamb Shank, and Chickpea Stew. All plates come with choice of rice(I like the paina with bits of fish) and salad(I like the papaya seed dressing). The last time we went we were disappointed with the Lamb Stew. They used bony, oddly cut pieces of lamb; the plate was all bones, no meat. We also didn’t like the Dal which was really aggressively seasoned with cumin seeds. The flavor was overpowering and the seeds made the texture gritty. Da Spot also has menu items, but be warned if you want a Gyro it can take a really long time, like over 25 minutes if they are busy with customers. They make yummy smoothies, which again you have to wait for. It also makes a big difference who is helping you with your order, portions vary server to server. If you want to check them out, find street parking and walk. They do have good entrees so you should find something you like, it’s just might be inconsistent.

I always see this place at Farmers Markets and wanted to try it. It’s located right across the big baseball field. There’s no parking so you have to just look for street parking. It’s a huge space and sometimes I think they have live bands play here. The service was ok, I told the girl it was my first time so I wasn’t sure how to order or anything and she just looked at me and reluctantly told me about their plates. They have a cafeteria style ordering system and serve Middle Eastern/Indian food. You can order a mini, regular or double entrée plate that comes with rice and tossed salad. I will say make sure you get their saffron rice. You can upgrade your salad to one of their daily special salads. The plates are reasonable for $ 6-$ 12. They also have a regular menus with wraps and sandwiches. They also serve smoothies and you can create your own. I didn’t know what their specialities were so maybe I didn’t choose well. I had their garlic butter roasted chicken and Thai red chicken curry. The food was ok but was a bit greasy. It’s supposed to be healthy but I’m not sure. I did enjoy the saffron rice. I guess I should see what they’re known for and give them another try. It’s worth checking out.

I had a good workout, and so I decided to reward myself by going to da spot. After reading much raving reviews, and salivating over the pictures today was the day. As I entered I witnessed a huge open area with tables and chairs. Great for people watching:) I walked in a little further to where the food was. It was not crowded at all around 6:30pm. The employees were polite and helpful. I was planning on ordering a mini plate and ended up with a combo;). One of my choices was the morrocan chicken a popular favorite. It was honey, caramelized, cinnamon, based, roasted with almonds and cranberries. My second option was the lemon, herb and coconut chicken. For my starch it was saffron rice which came with a salad. I can see why the morrocan chicken is a favorite. It was tender and sweet. The sauce mixed into the rice was absolutely wonderful. I did not want that feeling to end. Now for the coconut chicken I can’t say I feel the same. I barely tasted any herbs or lemon. The coconut was really light almost bland. But, the chicken melted in my mouth like butter. It would’ve been perfect if I had tasted those flavors. I will be back to try more of their exotic food options along with their sides!

Perfect place for a quick lunch or a life changing acai bowl. It’s like a cafeteria with a huge entry way without doors so people are in and out all the time but service is fast and friendly. THE Acai Bowl: I realize it’s unfair to rate something so high when it’s the first time I’ve ever eaten it but I’m going with it. I can’t stop thinking about it, talking about it, I think I have a crush. On a food. From what I’ve seen it’s also the best priced one on the island. Also, the size is humongous, definitely shareable, if you’re even willing to be that nice. I’ve also had one of the Moroccan chicken plates. The flavor was powerful and on point! I want to try everything here! There a big assortment of dishes, sides, and smoothies galore — seems relatively healthy. There’s something for everyone.
