Flags Flying! I’ve passed by this store in Ward Warehouse dozens of times, but never had a reason to step inside. My mother and I were asked to purchase four flags for a friend in Japan, he requested 2 Hawaii, and 2 USA, that are about 3 feet across.
Upon entering, I was overwhelmed by the assortment of flags and decoration items! I saw tons of small flags representing every nation in the world, a corkwall filled with wearable flag pins, some very sparkly hats in USA colors and also Christmas themed decorations in the back.
The older Caucasion gentleman working was very stoic and quiet when we entered but quickly warmed up when we started asking questions on the sizes of flags. He was very helpful in explaining the differences between the nylon and polyester materials, and also the variations between the screen printed and sewn flags.
Ultimately went home with exactly what we were looking for, we purchased 4 full sized flags (3×5 ft) for a little over $ 200

I went in yesterday to buy myself 2 flags… As soon as I entered the store I smiled at the Caucasian lady behind the counter and she didn’t smile back or even greet me. I was look around for the American flags for a couple minutes and didn’t even realize that they were behind her and she didn’t even say anything or offered any assistants…
At that point I felt very uncomfortable and felt like a victim of racial profiling! I originally wanted to buy a rainbow flag in support of marriage equality and replace my old and faded American flag. I only bought the American flag for Veterans Day and opted out of getting a rainbow flag due to the hostile shopping experience. I didn’t want to judged any further! I will not be returning to this store! The Caucasian lady was only nice to me only because I was purchasing a $ 100 flag.

Don’t go there when the Caucasian lady is working. If she sees you looking at the back of the labels, she will accuse you of looking for information to buy things off the Internet. I’ve bought things from there before when the Asian older lady is there, she has awesome customer service.

Needed 16 miniature foreign flags for an official military function being held in less than a week. Called several online vendors, but they could not guarantee delivery by the date I absolutely had to have them. Then I found Flags Flying at Ward Center. Made a quick call and they were very helpful in pulling together each of the 16 different flags I needed, plus the stands… and then offered a 10% military discount to help lower the cost. That made their prices better than any of the online vendors we originally contacted! When I walked into Flags Flying, they were already bagged and ready for me… quick credit card transaction, and three minutes later I was out the door with exactly what I needed. Could not have asked for a better purchasing experience!

I was stop by this store when cruising around Ward. I like looking at all the different kinds of flags around here. They have flags and other stuff about flags in the store. They have small flags, medium flags, and big flags. I think they have a flag for each country in the world or at least they should have one for each country in the world. They have everything from flag flags, flag stickers, flag t-shirts, flag decals, flag kites, etc. This store is obviously very patriotic and nationalistic when it comes down to flags. They can even customize and pre-order a flag for you if you they don’t have have a flag that you do not see and want. The prices can be a tad pricey. The staff and customer service is good. It’s conveniently located in the Ward Warehouse area right along those sidewalk shop areas makai/ocean side.

I really wasn’t expecting much of a kite shopping experience here. They obviously specialize in flags. I was wrong about that — they are a pretty respectable kite shop as well.
I was shopping for a stunt kite. They had a selection of about a dozen for me to choose from. Not huge but more than enough for me. Very helpful staff. She helped me pick the kite that was best for me, even pulling out the catalog to research the questions I had. She even let me know where to meetup with other kite fliers to get some flying/stunt tips.
