Make sure you look for coupons before trying anything out in Oahu. It cost us about 20 a person including the snorkeling gear but I highly recommend just purchasing your own because I’m sure they don’t really clean their gear for the next person to use. =/ When you arrive, you HAVE to watch a short video basically explaining what NOT to do while you’re in the water. Make sure you practice near the shore if you haven’t snorkeled before because the more you practice, the longer and farther you can last out in the ocean. I only HIGHLY recommend getting an underwater camera. CON: I felt that i went out pretty far but I didn’t get to see all the cool fishes like the ones you actually see on TV when they snorkel. Darn.

We were so excited that we were able to get in to Hanauma Bay, as the last visit we made to Hawaii we tried and were turned away due to sever wind conditions. When you arrive at the site, parking is $ 1 and then admission to the preserve is $ 7.50 — waived for those 12& under, and Hawaii residents as well. You MUST watch a video upon arrival(about preserving the reef) and then you can sign a log which exempts you from having to watch again for 365 days. The walk down to the bay is a little steep, but to me was worth it compared to the $ 1(ride down) or $ 1.25(ride up) but it’s nice to have the option for those less mobile.
