Store is closing. I went yesterday and found everything was 50% off. The staff was very helpful considering the closing and I found some great stuff! Weird now that Kahala is the only mall on the island without a Hallmark store.

Some Hallmark’s carry a nice assortment of local products and crafts that make good gifts. This one does not. Pure Hallmark only(good if that is what you need — nice and roomy). Small section of Life is Good products and a range of entertainment related goods(Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Scooby-Doo, Peanuts, etc.).

Busy today. Well every retail place is busy today since it is Black Friday… I always notice that they move their displays around to keep a fresh look. My favorite displays are first the peanuts. I love snoopy. Second will be the fun novelty display with Star Wars or marvel items. Hallmark is definitely my place for quality gift bags and wrapping paper. I can always find something that will work perfect for the occasion. Also. Sign up to be a hallmark rewards member… Hallmark will send you perks and reward certificates. It benefits you especially if you frequent there. It can also be used at all hallmark locations. Oh. Make sure to read the coupons and perk certificates. You can use it on most items. I can’t wait for their next sale. Usually the day after Christmas. Stay tuned…

Greeting card companies remind me of book stores. They were so popular back in the day, but are slowly dying out. With all the new technology, you can almost do everything online. People are hardly buying greeting cards like they did in the past. They are now sending emails, texting, wishing Happy Birthday on Facebook, or sending e-cards to their friends and loved ones for occasions. I used to be a HUGE Greeting card collector. I know, kind of a strange item to collect. I’m not sure how or when it started, but I used to get a HIGH going into Hallmark stores, browsing their cards and picking up a couple to add to my collection. I mostly picked them out for how funny the picture on the outside of the card was, or how witty the greeting was on the inside. Fortunately for my wallet I’ve stopped adding to my collection, and only go to Hallmark when I actually need a card. This branch is one of my favorites to go to because the location is so convenient for us, and it’s not as jam packed with people like their Ala Moana store. If you’re not already a member of their Gold Crown Rewards Club, you should definitely sign up. It’s free to join and you can earn points towards Reward Dollars to use for future purchases. You will receive 10 points for every dollar you spend. Every card you buy you will receive 5 bonus points and 100 bonus points for ever 3 card purchase. Your card can be used at any Hallmark store location. If you do not have your card on hand(something I’m guilty of all the time) they can look up your rewards card # for you.

It’s hard to appreciate Hallmark after you visit Papyrus(Ala Moana), but somehow my mother is a big fan of the ornaments, so I come here every so often. When I would go with her as a kid, it was always fun reading the funny card messages and looking through the Peanuts collection. Nowadays, the store looks dated and cramped with too many made in China knick-knacks. That’s not so much the fault of the store as it is a product of the demographic that Hallmark caters towards. The layers of shelving makes it a bit challenging to find anything quickly. The cumulative effect of coming in this store is visual overstimulation. Even the ornaments, which once looked expensive, now look like someone is cutting corners manufacturing and painting them. The selection of ornaments at this location isn’t awesome, either.

i had the most horrible«hallmark experience» and must write this down to share with everyone. was in on saturday before memorial day so they gave 25% off if you spent $ 25(for may 25, i think). however, upon checking my receipt, a mug was rung up for extra $ 2(instead of $ 9.99, it rung up $ 11.99). when i pointed it out, the sales lady was like, okay, i will make a correction by returning the $ 11.99 with 25% off, and then ring up the $ 9.99 by itself, so it will almost«come to even.»(i was like, what?) so she proceeded to do so as she described, and had me sign for a reversal of $ 9.42(with 4.71% tax) and then a charge of $ 10.46!(what is the point then, for me to point out YOUR mistake!?) she replied, well, the $ 9.99 rung up by itself did not get any discount, hence; hence, you would have to pay more with this correction!!! readers, that’s just totally wrong of her, and forget about the dollar amount! she began to sound impatient at this moment when i asked why she penalized me for the wrong price rung up. as her manager approached, she sounded like she was complaining, «sandy, she’d asking me to reverse the whole thing out!» i was like, ‘no, i was not asking you to reverse the whole thing out, but if your manager is here, she could give met he 25% off on the $ 9.99 to make this right.” the salesperson said, «would you like to step aside now?» i was like for what? why should i step aside? she said, «okay then i will give you the $ 2 back.» then she proceeded to punch in $ 2 plus tax of 4.71%…if anyone did the math by now, $ 9.99 times 25% is $ 2.50(or $ 2.49) not $ 2.00. i asked her that. why is it $ 2 not $ 2.50? she showed me her calculator with no decimals, and said, look it is $ 2. i looked, and it didn’t show $ 2.00. i was mad. she didn’t know how to make this right but she is a cashier? what made me even madder was that her manager«sandy» was right next to her, and sandy said, «i will take it out of my pocket change to pay for it!» how derogatory of a haole lady to say that to a customer! i was mad and told them, you just lost a customer forever! and you know what the salesperson said? she said«thank you for coming and GOODBYE!» GEEZ!

Huge selection of cards, wrapping paper and other merchandise and trinkets. They offer the rewards program too which is a perk, so if you find yourself in Hallmark often, you may want to sign up. Staff was helpful and courteous.

It was my first time into this Hallmark location. I usually go to the ones in Ala Moana, Pearlridge, or Maui. This store has soo much space, its great! This store is filled with lots of wonderful gift ideas. Beanie Babies, Wizard of Oz, Disney quotable pieces, Chinese charms and bracelets, and of course the usual greeting cards and scented ball car fresheners(btw, my favorite is strawberry and cream). All kinds of goodies =) The staff is really friendly and while I was checking out I got sidetracked and decided that I needed a calendar. As I was deciding, the cashier suggested the Precious Moments one as it was good for 2-years rather than 1. I wasn’t particular to the Precious Moments one, but hey, if it keeps me from having to buy another calendar in 12 months — sure why not!?! Besides, he made it sound like it was a good idea — nice one!

I love this Hallmark store because I’m a fan of photography. I always come to this location to check out the picture frames in the back. Sometimes they have picture frames that the Ala Moana location doesn’t carry. The picture frames are reasonably priced and cute. They have a wide selection of cards for just about any occasion!

This Hallmark location is pretty big and spacious. Their selection could be increased a bit but I only go to Hallmark for two things: Cards & Ornaments. They got both. A nice break to Kahala Malls monotony.

My children love this Hallmark store. It has a large selection of Beanie Babies and Webkinz, which are like Beanie Babies as far as I can tell but come with some sort of Internet site. It’s a pretty big store with lots of little gift items, stationery, Christmas ornaments, and of course, cards. Plus, this store always seems to smell good. Maybe it’s paper. I can’t identify what it is.

I normally shop at the Ala Moana branch, but always hit this store up when I’m at this particular mall. I like the fact that it’s a larger store than the Ala Moana branch and that the aisles are much more spacious for a new mother like myself to push a bulky stroller through. It could be better, but I feel that they have a pretty decent sized collection of various cards to suit practically every occasion. I have not walked out of a Hallmark not being able to find a card for a particular event or occasion. I also like the fact that they have a free membership rewards program that rewards me with gift certificates and coupons throughout the year towards future purchases. I have always been a dedicated Hallmark shopper and always will be! Food: N/A Service: *** Ambiance: **** Value: ****
