Went to Amber because my back was killing me and the rest of my body seemed pretty tight. Got the discount from Unilocal and made my appointment for the same day and she accommodated my request. She small in stature but very strong. She asked me what I was looking for and why I came in so she understood my problems. She really knows how to work the areas with patience and strength, and will take her time to knead those tough knots out; I had lots and lots of them! She found them in places I didn’t know they were hiding. In the end I felt very, very relaxed and comfortable and felt 1000% better. The next day I could tell that I had gotten a good massage cause by body was sore in places but in a good way — like I had had a good workout. Great job, Amber! Mahalo!

Finding your massage therapist is like finding a hairstylist. You definitely want to be able to communicate your expectations of the service, but beyond that what are you going in for? Do you also want to divulge all your personal secrets to your (massage) therapist or do you want to plop down and forget about the world for a little while? I assume most people want something in between. Amber at Muscle Mechanics will not disappoint you.
I, for one, am a big bundle of nerves and am so obviously in need of a good massage, but all the tension that makes me want a massage can make it hard for me to indulge myself and go get one! Thank goodness for Amber. She has a talent for honing in on your physical needs and also complementing the energy of your personality. She is both warm and professional, so I’ve never had an awkward moment, even lying there in my anxiety-​ridden-​nekkid-​glory hidden by nothing but a sheet! (Although you are of course given the option of wearing comfortable clothing to your session.) I highly recommend Amber and would definitely trust seeing Taryn, too, after my very positive experiences with Muscle Mechanics.
**P.S. She is equally good at massaging with heavy pressure and light pressure. I have tough as nails feet/​legs, but also nagging hip bursitis. She treated both areas perfectly!

Taryn does a wonderful massage. She is located in Clark Hatch in the basement of the Topas Tower. Very simple operation (not a spa– real therapy). She doesn’t charge a lot, is very thoughtful, and sends emails to me about exercises that will help me. She has been great working with my mom, spending extra time with her and usually spends a little extra time with me, too. Also, she is taking reiki and is always looking for new ways to help her clients. I now go twice a month and my brother is going too. Parking Saturday is validated for an hour, then is only $ 1 for an additional hour. Highly recommend Taryn.
