We came here around 9pm(mall closes at 10 for holiday hours) tonight. Figure we try it out here since its new, in hopes that it would be as good as what it replaced(tsuruya!!) but we were so wrong. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken cutlet set to share(#20) — it’s listed as $ 12.49, SAYS it comes with the chicken, cabbage salad, rice & Mac salad. Sounds appealing, so we got that and a side of miso soup($ 2.29) & a bottled water for $ 17.38 total. We waited a good 10 minutes which is relatively fast, so that was good. What I noticed at first is that they gave us two miso soups, I asked my BF why did they give us two miso soups and he had no idea, we figured because maybe they were closing? I opened up the plate, and there was no Mac salad so my BF got up to ask how come we never got any, the lady then told us that they were out of Mac salad so that’s why they gave us a extra miso soup? But why didn’t she tell us that when we were ordering… she then offered some pickled veggies to go with our meal which I guess was okay? Also, the chicken cutlet… if you look at the menu picture there’s about 10 pieces of nice looking chicken(almost as good as L&L chicken katsu) but what we got was 6 – 7 pieces of chicken that was mostly BATTER — no chicken at all? And we were suppose to share this… lol. The cabbage salad is just sad. The miso soup is watery and only comes with some seaweed and green onion, no tofu :(this whole overall experience was just sad and I really miss tsuruya!!! I won’t be back again here sadly. If you’re in the mood for chicken katsu just go to L&L on the other side or even just order some chicken at the hanalei chicken company, you’ll have a better meal there or even at subway lol.

Nagasaki Champon is sandwiched between the two Chinese establishments, Panda Express & Chinatown Express in the Ala Moana Mauka Food Court. I ordered one of their specialties, the dish for which their establishment was named, the«Nagasaki Champon». You know how the actual product is never like the picture? This was no exception, as it was an unreasonable facsimile of both the menu photos and of the plastic models. My first few tastes of the dish that came with chewy noodles, vegetables such as bean sprouts and carrots, and a few small shrimp were rather tasteless. I do not habitually add condiments or spice to my food but this time it was a necessity. After mixing some hot sauce in to the broth and noodles, the depth of the pork broth began to surface and after that, the dish was good to the last drop. For the price of $ 10.42 including tax, there are other Food Court options of superior value.

Terrible. The miso soup was like water. The goods was not fully cooked. The crispy noodle dish looked nothing like the picture on their display. The katsu donburi was ok. Definitely not coming back again.

Never again! Poor service. Can’t seem to multitask. Waited a long time for just the gyoza. Not worth the price. Not worth the wait. And I swear the cashier sucked her teeth at me when I said something about the wait. And got charged extra to separate my CRISPY noodles from the soup. Guess they strive to put soggy product out. Over priced and BAD service. I’ve already begun the boycott. If Unilocal would allow it I would give minus 1000 stars. Shame on this place! They should be very careful because there is a bomb a$$ ramen place at phase 1… Don’t give this place very long to close. Just saying.

Came here before work for a quick meal since I was craving Katsu. It was okay but I felt like the tonkatsu sauce was more of a mask than a condiment if that makes sense? I should have gone elsewhere. Miso soup was lacking in flavor too and had no tofu or wakame?

I had the #4, and there were more veggies than noodles! The noodles tasted okay, not too flavorful, and with a SLIGHT hint of spice. Not my favorite.

I was excited to see that Ringer Hut had a placing in the Ala Moana Food Court. I have enjoyed Ringer Hut in Waikiki, especially their Nagasaki Champon, and also the crispy noodles. I agree with the Erica L. and Jonathan R.‘s reviews, but because I have had such a great experience at the Waikiki Ringer Hut, I have to rate the Ala Moana food court location as a one-star. But, hey! That means there’s always room for improvement. I have had two experiences at Ringer Hut at the Ala Moana food court. The first time, I had the Nagasaki Champon, and the second was their crispy noodles. Both dishes were tasteless, although flanked with vegetables, shrimp, and other food to accompany the noodles and broth. I was extremely excited and when I wasn’t satisfied with my first try, I went back a week after in hopes to reclaim my excitement for Ringer Hut. Alas, I was disappointed yet again. Unfortunately, I also got extremely terrible diarrhea both of the times I ate at this location. I hope this location improves so that I can enjoy Ringer Hut at a place that is easily accessible, such as the Ala Moana food court.

I walked into the food court and saw the unfamiliar sign… Nagasaki. I volunteer myself as tribute! Erica’s review is spot on, it begs the question… where’s the pork? Where’s the seafood? I counted the number of shrimp, 4 tiny tiny shrimp. The pork outnumbered the shrimp, there was 6 pieces. I wouldn’t have mind the numbers if they were actually good but they pretty much tasted like the broth/sauce(it wasn’t really a broth that I’d have to use the spoon). Along with the meat was cabbage, sprouts, corn, mushrooms, and fish cake. I had the number 11, the main difference from the others is the crispy noodles. I think the crispy noodles went okay with the broth/sauce which made it the right consistency I like(a little bit of crunch). The service was alright, nothing spectacular but it is the food court. Don’t expect anything outstanding. Luckily, it’s not the worst service I received. Okay, here is the thing, for $ 10 you can get a whole lot better and a whole lot more food at another vendor. If this place is to stand a chance in the long run, they need to find a way to stand out.

Had the #1– Nagasaki Champon… too much veggies, barely any meat! I really wasn’t much of a fan and was thrown off by the corn that was inside of it(!!!). The broth itself was creamy, but in all honesty, it didn’t have much flavor as the image might have suggested. Portion was quite small based on looking at other people’s orders, so I asked if there was an option for an extra portion of noodles… there wasn’t :( Between the two of us, we both agreed that it’s should be 2.5 stars based on taste, portion-size, and price. .5 stars for the free mini kendama and chopstick holder with purchase(received on 12÷5÷14). Super cute!

I stumbled across this place while wandering around the food and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the katsu donburi and a side of gyoza. My food arrived quickly and I was impressed by the quality of the taste. Everything tasted fresh and this establishment is a welcome addition to the otherwise tiring options in the food court. They also gave me a free kendama and chopstick rest, so kudos to them for knowing how to butter me up.
