Thoroughly enjoyed this place. I might have a biased opinion since I live for soup and sandwiches.

Yummm! I go here often when I’m working and love getting any of their sandwiches toasted. My favorite is the roast beef or the club. The cashier sand other employees are always kind and sociable. They also offer several salads and a myriad of baked goods, which are of fantastic value. They also give mall discount of you work in the mall :)

This place is pretty standard. They have variety of sandwiches, salads, pasta salads, soups and even breakfast pastries and muffins. I ordered a BLT sandwich and it was ok. Nothing fancy or extraordinary. Everything is made ready to go pretty quick. Sandwiches are pretty pricey though because I paid about $ 10 for BLT sandwich! If I wanted cheese then it would be 50 cents extra! This place is definitely more ideal for stop and go breakfast where you get a muffin and go.

Made my day. Despite the adolescent manning the cashier. I started the day off on the wrong side of the bed. Just one of those days. After attempting to satisfy a craving for a steak lunch plate at grylt(Atkinson closes at 3 on Sunday’s), I walked by this place, which was slow, no customers, bored(may I add lonely?) looking workers, but an enticing display of cookies and sweets. I decided the best way to turn this frown up side down was to eat some cookies… I had to giggle a little BECAUSE of my interaction with the cashier as I was placing by order, it was probably one of those«you had to be there» moments, her tone was everything: Valley girl: «can I help you?» Me: «can I get one chocolate chip cookie, and ooo, those little oatmeal cookies too!» Valley girl: «How many oatmeal?» Me: «hmm…four!» Valley girl«there’s a minimum» Me: «oh, ok what’s the minimum?» Valley girl: «the minimum is 5.» Me: «ok… 5 is fine…» It was just awkward. But that’s what kind of made me laugh. I’m glad for the minimum however. I wish I bought 5 orders of the minimum! Those cookies were soooooooo freaking delicious. I was instantly in a better mood. Thank you gut instinct, and thank you paradise café for the best cookies I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t want to choose between here or grandmas…

National Sandwich Day, always held on November 3rd, silently came and went in honor of John Montagu, the famous Earl whose name has reached legendary status. Sad to say I never knew such a day existed to pause for celebration. Now I know. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I did enjoy a sandwich on Nov. 3 so here’s my belated ode in honor of said day. Oh, sandwich. How do I love thee? I’ll eat you: –morning, noon & night. –hot, cold, toasted, fried, grilled, plain, pressed, stacked & squished. –for breakfast, snack, lunch, tea, dinner & more. –in a house, mall, bar, boat, plane… –on a train, on a hike, on the beach. –in my sleep, in a dream. My love for you will never cease. BLT with cheese, toasted on squaw bread($ 8.45) [3/5 Stars] — The squaw bread is delicious. It’s reminiscent of Cheesecake Factory’s table bread but in sandwich form: slightly sweet & chewy. Yay for the thick slices of bacon but only one sad piece of romaine lettuce. For an $ 8.45 sandwich why so stingy with the lettuce? Would’ve gave you 4 stars if there was more lettuce in my sandwich. Mini Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies [4/5 Stars] Minimum quantity you must order is five pieces. It’s 40¢ a piece = $ 2.00 So I enjoyed the squaw bread so much I went back again & got: Roasted Vegetable Sandwich($ 8.50) [3/5 Stars] — I blind ordered this not knowing what’s in it: Sautéed zucchini, onions & peppers. It is reheated(ahem«roasted») when you order it. The bread is also toasted with the cheese & assembled together. I was hoping there would be lettuce & tomato but there wasn’t. Frosted Chocolate Brownie($ 3.50) [4/5 Stars] — I’ve ordered this a couple years ago & they mistook salt for sugar so it was pretty atrocious. No salty brownie this time so it was definitely a bakers error the last time. I’d go back for the squaw bread but will try something different next time. As much as I’d like to give 4 stars to Paradise Café l have to be honest. You are a solid 3 stars for me.

Saddest baked potato ever. First hardly any cheese on what should have been a cheesy broccoli potato, so I went back and asked if I could get a little more. I think a baked potato that costs $ 8.50 should be swimming in toppings, but maybe that’s just me. The ladies working there were accommodating and took my potato back to fix it. Then I watched in horror as one of them put three pieces of Kraft Tire Patch Cheese on my potato… and asked if I wanted it melted. I said«uhhh, yeah I guess so…» because who would want cold kraft cheese singles on top of a baked potato that cost $ 8.50?! So she melts half of it and gives it back to me. Then the really horrific part of my dining experience began. The broccoli which had appeared over cooked(and I was honestly okay with that because I kinda like overcooked broccoli) turned out to be raw but just wilted from a short stint in a microwave with no water. It kinda had the taste and crunch of raw broccoli but with a wilted texture. Very very unappetizing. Basically I forced myself to eat most other it because it was a $ 8.50 baked potato but much of the time I was laughing or taking pictures of the nasty ridiculousness. Anyway, it you like baked potatoes… this is not the place to get your fix. But if you HATE baked potatoes and like to see them suffer a cruel fate, then this is your place.

The food here is okay. It’s good though if you are craving a sandwich and salad. Their squaw bread is delicious and so are the cookies. You get a free little cookie with most of the meals on the menu, or if the worker is just nice. The noodle salad doesn’t taste very good to be honest. The place is in the middle of the Ala Moana food court. It gets busy there, but there are usually seats in front of the café.

Ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad for lunch today. Of all the days I find myself at Makai Market Food Court, it’s on a hot and humid day when the food court air conditioning system doesn’t even feel like it’s operational. The positives are that the romaine lettuce is nice and fresh, the salad is made to order, and an appropriate amount of bottled Caesar dressing is tossed in for you. Now onto the negatives. For starters, at $ 9 a plate, you would think it would at least be worth what you’re paying especially since romaine lettuce is about as inexpensive as it gets when it comes to lettuce. However, the amount they give just barely lines the foam takeout container it’s served in. To make matters worse, the so-called«chicken» is actually(3) thin ¼ inch x 5 inch sliced dry breast meat. C’mon Paradise Café, Costco’s chicken Caesar salad is even better than this! Bottom line: I will never eat at Paradise Café again… and will continue to avoid Makai Market Food Court food as much as possible.

Their cookies and pastries are great! Yum! The guy who helped us was very nice and let us know the deals and also let us choose which specific large cookies we wanted instead of just randomly grabbing one. Ended up w/16 small cookies($ 5), 3 large, a couple muffins and a coffee for $ 25. They open early.

Went here last week. Ordered the chicken avocado sandwich ‘souper combo’- which includes the half sandwich, salad, soup, drink, chips and cookie. Perhaps the most expensive on their menu. I went back 2 minutes later to ask for a few napkins. The older woman with blonde hair(probably the owner she wasn’t wearing the uniform outfit) stared at me and sifted through the napkins, pulled 1 out reluctantly and said ‘did you purchase here?’ in a snooty tone… Really?! I was on the verge of buying something from mama’s spaghetti house just to get a napkin and not deal w rude service!!! It’s 1 napkin woman I just gave your company MY money… The least you can do is show good customer service. Not coming here anymore.

I have always enjoyed their half sandwich, half salad(or soup) meals… love the SQUAW bread — delicious. And, of course, the little cookie that(should) come w/the sandwich. I usually get the turkey cranberry. Or, the bacon avocado turkey sandwich… yummy!!! I’ve never been dissatisfied there. Always fresh ingredients.

Ate here for the first time today and it was very good. I had a BLT with cheese. I was pleasantly surprised how big it was, and very tasty! The service was fast and the workers friendly and courteous. Oh, and it came with a little chocolate chip cookie in the package, which I wasn’t expecting. I was pleased.

This place is really good for fresh, wholesome food. The sandwiches are really good. Soups thick and full of flavor. Salads are fresh and delicious. They have a lunch special that is awesome, soup, salad, sandwich, drink, and chips all for $ 10.50. I get it a lot. Nice customer service too!

had a bad experience with them. The new girl was not really good. She didn’t smile nothing. Didn’t tell me my order number did greet me, or say thank you at the end. Just I really like the place but she had to ruin my night. Just not so happy with it right now. I really should rethink about going there again ever. Just lost a long time customer cause of her. And this wasn’t the first time. Sorry.

Dropped in for a quick breakfast sandwich. It was an easy choice given the beautiful picture of it on the menu display. The product received doesn’t resemble it in any way. No fluffy scrambled eggs with cheese flowing over the beautiful sausage. No, think of Mickey D’s breakfast sandwich. Pre-cooked eggs and just not that great.

I like their sandwiches, especially the one(or ones) with avocado! I also like that the sandwiches all come with a little cookie ~ too bad you can’t choose the flavor though! Service can be little off — sometimes they’re nice and sometimes they seem disinterested in being there.

The food here(if you like croissants, sandwiches, and muffins) is really good. I ended up ordering a Scramble Croissant(the breakfast sandwich), which was SO delicious. I have a thing for croissant breakfast sandwiches and I was glad theirs met my expectations. The egg was fluffy, the croissant was still soft and moist, and the cheese topped it off. However, despite their food being heavenly for me the customer service was just OK. The lady at the register was kind of rude! And I noticed this with the customer in front of me and myself. So, the customer in front of me ordered her food and was putting her money away. The cashier says to her, «Please go to the LEFT. NOTTHERIGHT.» And I could see the customer looking at her thinking, «I get it. Let me put my cash away first.» But the cashier looks at her and says, «LEFT. NOTRIGHT.» She’s not yelling, but the way she said it really bothered me. I even doubted my decision to come here. I didn’t let that stop me though. I still ordered my sandwich and as I got my receipt she says again«MOVETOTHELEFT. NO. NOTTHERIGHT. THELEFT.» Like, OK. I heard you loud and clear with the customer before me but she was down right rude! The other workers were so sweet and kind, but if you’re having a bad day, don’t take it out on people.

After browsing the Ala Moana food court, I spotted«grilled cheese» on Paradise Café’s menu. At that moment, none of the other food available sounded as appealing as good olé fashioned American comfort food, so I went back to Paradise Café. It was a Friday night past dinnertime, but I still had to wait in a twenty minute line just to order. I assumed this was an indication that the food would be worth the wait. Well. For $ 7, I got a grilled cheese in which the cheese was barely melted and it was certainly not«grilled.» It was kind of floppy and borderline soggy without being wet(that’s the best way I can imagine to describe it). The only thing this grilled cheese had going for it was that wheat bread was an option, that the bread was slightly larger than standard sandwich bread size, and that there was a tiny surprise cookie inside. I know it’s Ala Moana, so food is pretty much guaranteed to be pricey, but I know I have had much better for cheaper(or even much better for the same price). I could have made a grilled cheese in my kitchen at home and it would have tasted much better! Paradise Café would have earned three stars from me if the customer service had been stellar, but it really wasn’t. «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» No facial expressions from the employees and I don’t think anyone even made eye contact with me! When you also factor in that this pricey grilled cheese just barely satisfied my hunger, we’re in two-star territory. That being said, the little cookie tasted really good, so at least there was that!
