Returned to Phở Thinh after going there several times over the past few years or so. As before, it was definitely«meh!» A little pricey for phở at $ 10 for the large phở tai which had very little rare steak. The broth was very cloudy which I’ve discovered to mean that it has a lot of MSG in it. I also ordered a shrimp summer roll and it too was«meh.» I do, however, think this is one of the cleanest phở joints in town and for that I give them 2 stars. Parking was tight. We ended up parking on the street up the block. I still think Huong Long is the best phở in Hawaii.

This is my new favorite phở place in town. The flavors n food is consistent. The veggies always look nice and fresh. The staff is nice and friendly. Minus one star for only giving each people 1 pc. of napkin and not being open on Sundays! No phở for my hangover Sundays :(

I still love this place like the first time I ate here. Owner just told me that their restaurant is now open from 9 to 9 Monday through Saturday. He also mentioned that their awesome crab soup is now available Fridays and Saturdays!

This restaurant is the cleanest Vietnamese restaurant I ‘ve been to. The Owner is also the waiter and server. Service is fast and friendly. The crab soup is very delicious, it’s usually available on Saturdays but today he told me they are serving it. Very tasty and when crab soup is available, I always order it. We also order the fried spring roll, also another. I recommend this restaurant for your Vietnamese food fix. My Wife had the Phở which is also good.

Clean, clean, clean! The restaurant is so clean. Look at their bean sprouts, they actually wash them unlike other phở restaurants. I love these guys. Their food are delicious and always on point. I’ve been going here for years and it has never been a disappointment. They also have X-Large phở, I dare you to order it. It’s huge!!!

Phở is a wonderful asian comfort soup. It will make you feel better if you feel sick or if you have a hangover. It’s also great for a casual weekend meal. This small restaurant will definitely meet all those needs. FOOD Only on Saturdays, they have BUNRIEU. Also, known as CRABSOUP. This delicious Vientamese specialty soup is like an asian tomato soup. It is a collaboration of spices, tomato, and of course crab! So filling! Their PHO has a clear, crisp, sweet broth which is great especially if you don’t like to heat things up with you sauce concoctions. It’s basically just good on its own. The SPRINGROLLS are pretty good. They always come out piping hot. ENVIRONMENT Located after the intersection of McCully & South King Street on your left side. It is next to Mama Woos and Wada. Small private lot with about 6 stalls or just find parking on the street. SERVICE This appears to be a family owned business. They are nice and quick with service. Family friendly with high chairs. CONCLUSION Great little restaurant to have your comfort phở soup. If you come here you must try the crab soup!

This place is a must try if you love Vietnamese food & quality service. The people who own & operate this establishment were very friendly, and treated us like family as we entered. Got the bbq chicken w/vermicelli & my other half had the beef phở. Was so so so delicious & plentiful. We will definitely be back for more one day soon. Thank you Phò Thinh for everything.

Me and my family go here all the time. The Phở is sweeter but very pleasant. The guys that work there are always welcoming and pretty much already know what we all want by heart. I love the ice coffee and I always get the Large Phở with exta beef. my favorite! My son always gets the chicken plate. The chicken is always made to order and very delicious. I absolutely love this place and the relaxing vibe. Friendly service which keeps me coming back for more.

I came with a friend because he was craving phở. I’ve been reading good reviews of this place so I thought I come and try it out. We came on a Tuesday afternoon, not busy at all. We walked in and the two middle aged guys working there stared at us awkwardly. Ooookay. I just said for two. One of them pointed at a table in front of us and the other one pointed at the to table by the register counter. Ok, whatever. I feel a weird awkward vibe. Crap! After being seated we got the menus. My friend took forever to decide what to get. By the time the guy server came to take our order, he stared at us without saying anything, expecting us to say something first. I told him we need a few more minutes, he stared at us again awkwardly, said ok and walked away. Finally my friend decided to get the oxtail noodle soup($ 12.50~) and I got the medium phở with rare steak and tendon($ 9). The server didn’t wait for my friend’s answer for what type of noodle he wants and assumed it’s rice noodle. My friend said ok. It wasn’t that busy but the food took forever. My medium phở was quite small. The soup tasted sweeter compared to other phở places. I did like the soup. I wish they would add more noodles and meat. The minty leaves they give you with bean sprouts were old looking. It looked like it’s been out for days. Eww… so not fresh! I don’t understand why the menu for phở is not just called combination so you can get all the meat in a bowl. You have to choose 1 – 4 choices only in a bowl. It’s pricey for the amount they give you. Not satisfied. Service is hella awkward. When we were eating the two guys kept staring at us because we were right in front of their view. Rude much! I wouldn’t want to come back to eat. Everything was just awkward!!!

I had a favorite Phở place until we stumbled upon this place! Their broth is soo good, you don’t need to add anything extra to it. The portions are perfect, not too little and not too much. The service is prompt and friendly. Parking in the lot is limited but we’ve always gotten a spot, and there’s also metered street parking available. I get the medium Phở with Fatty Brisket… yum!!! :)

First time coming here, wanted to satisfy my craving with a bowl of phở. Now there are only certain places where you can get a super bowl of phở, and I came across this restaurant through Unilocal. The proportion is good; you get to choose what you put in your bowl for a fixed price. Now, let me tell you that an XL bowl costs $ 13 for two choices with your bowl of phở. And XL with three choices cost $ 14. A bit pricey than other places but they give you lots of noodles and broth. The phở tastes great here, can’t really tell the difference with the taste of other phở places lol. I love the restaurant when they turn off the bright lighting and replace it with dim lighting– pretty atmosphere. However, the interior is a bit small. The staff here is normal and chill, they serve you patiently and bring the food fast. Parking here is limited and can take a few minutes for a spot that’s not reserved to open up. Yet, there is street parking with meters; limited as well. This is certainly a place I would go when I’m starving and wanting a super bowl of phở.

Having eaten at hundreds of phở restaurants on the mainland, Phở Thinh ranks at the top. Everything about the phở bowl was delicious: good amount of noodles, good broth, and incredibly tasty meatballs and steak. YUM! Although I had to order extra noodles, this phở bowl definitely cured my hangover. The service and arrival of the food was prompt, and the place is very clean. I’d say it’s the cleanest phở restaurant I’ve ever been to, and that says a lot a bunch of hole-in-the-wall restaurants I’ve been. The restaurant isn’t crowded and there is lot parking but it’s limited.

I love the Phở and the Bun here. The bbq pork is very tasty and they give a good amount of fresh vegetables. I feel also they have pretty good customer service. The only downside is the parking is very limited. My go to Vietnamese place in town.

Because our favorite phở place is currently renovating, we’ve had to reach beyond our comfort zone and venture to new restaurants. I saw good reviews on Unilocal so I brought my parents to check it out. The concept is great since the menu provides a list of exactly what ingredients you want in your phở. It’s broken down by size and how many different items you want-tendon, steak, brisket, tripe, meatballs, etc. They have all the offerings as any other phở place. I ordered the oxtail soup since the pricing on it was pretty decent. Oxtail at Hale Vietnam will run you about $ 15. Unfortunately, despite the soup being pretty good and being served a hefty amount of oxtail, there was just too much fat on the meat. I kept trying to cut the fat off but there was so much of it that I ended up eating unwanted pieces of fat. My parents both got medium size phở so I had a chance to taste theirs. Unfortunately, the soup base is sweeter than other places I’ve tried and I didn’t care for it very much. The meat was well cooked and it was a good portion but the soup was too sweet for my tastes(I like things really spicy and the sweetness was overpowering). Everything else about the place was good. Although the location is small, there was a decent amount of parking out front. The restaurant is clean and well kept and the portions are good. If you enjoy phở broth that is on the sweeter side, this place may definitely be the place for you.

I had the Oxtail soup with egg noodles. It was so tasty. Soup was good, not oily or salty. Parking was a little hard to find because of the small parking lot. Clean, small place.

The chili oil sauce is so good here! I put in at least three heaping scoops in my phở. It’s not overly spicy, but so flavorful. Not that the phở really needs it though. Lots of flavor if you like to eat your phở plain too. The tofu summer rolls are my favorite. It’s their peanut sauce that totally makes it. Pair that with an iced coffee and it’s enough for a light lunch. Parking can be a little tight in the private lot at dinner time since it’s shared with two other restaurants, but there’s lots of street parking along King St.

I recently finally made it here for my first time the next morning after a night of partying. There is nothing better than a large bowl of phở to help with the hangover. Phở Thinh is located on King Street pass Mcully on the left. I went there when they opened and was able to find parking and get seating without waiting. The restaurant looks clean. I ordered the large combo with the meats inside. The broth was clear and tasty. The vegetables were presented well and looked fresh. My only complaint is the portion size. It’s definitely less than what I’m used to getting in Chinatown. Well repeat and mostly likely come back on Saturdays for their crab special.

I went to Phở Thinh on a PFC next morning hangover request as his recovery meal. I definitely believe soup has its redeeming restorative factors especially after drinking too much the night before so it was a good choice for PFC. Phở Thinh restaurant is close to the McCully area and is very clean and conservative from the outside. I ordered the large phở with double rare beef for $ 9.50. I think the phở was very good but not fantastic. Upon examining the menu I found that on Saturdays they have a special crab broth soup noodle special that sounds very intriguing. I’m definitely looking forward to returning on a Saturday but honestly their everyday meal is nothing out of the ordinary. It was delicious and I ate it all. See my pictures. It’s definitely recommended but I don’t really know the difference between this place in any other phở noodle shop.

So I had the grilled pork rice plate again and it was disappointing, I’m not sure if I changed or the dish changed! There was way too little rice and way too much meat(well, good for meat lovers). The pork glaze was too sweet. Their homemade hot sauces were not very good either(too mild and on the sour side). My husband liked his phở. The place is very clean and service is friendly.

Last Saturday I hiked with a group of friends on a chilly and wet morning so after the hike we wanted something to satisfy our hunger and warm up. I’ve been having a PHO craving for a looooong time as I haven’t had it in months. So you can imagine how happy I was when someone suggested we come here. I’ve seen several promising reviews here on Unilocal along with great photos so there was surely no objection from me! There were 5 of us and we came in separate cars and I got here first. It was easy to find as this place is on the Mauka side of South King Street(just before McCully Bicycle and Sporting Goods). Their parking lot is shared with other eateries and because there aren’t that many stalls, parking can be challenging. Fortunately for me I found one. After our meal the staff told us they also have additional parking in the back(highly recommended). This is a small restaurant that is very clean and bright. The staff here are very friendly and attentive. It was shortly after 11am and upon entering, I was guided to an empty table and immediately received a menu and water. I had to wait for my other friends to show up and it gave me ample time to inspect the menu. On Saturdays here they offer BUNRIEU(Vietnamese crab & tomato noodle soup) for $ 9 and they have limited servings. While waiting I noticed all tables around me had someone order this. It did look really good but my sister just made BUNRIEU for me several weeks ago and she’s a really good cook so I passed on this. Ordering PHO here is custom-made. You get to choose from either(A) 1 or 2 proteins OR(2) 3 or 4 proteins. They have pictures on their menu so you get to choose which proteins to have. You also have 3 options of bowl sizes. I really like this system because there are times you get a combination bowl with something that you don’t care for. While all of my friends had the BUNRIEU, I had the 4 protein combination PHO with rare steak, beef tendon, tripe and beef brisket. The food didn’t take that long for it to come out and immediately I realized tripe was left out. I took one sip of the broth and it was piping HOT, they way it should be so I was really pleased. And because I was hungry, I just ate and didn’t make a scene of my missing tripe. I also was surprised my rare steak was in the bowl! It came almost fully cooked, which I don’t care for. I like my thinly sliced beef still very pink, not brown. My friends were all enjoying their meals so I just let it go. I did enjoy their homemade garlic chili sauce which I threw 4 heaping spoons in my bowl of noodles. Immediately it turned red but didn’t have the«heat» I was hoping for. I was also surprised how little veggies they brought. Not a fan of bean sprouts, they had A LOT on the plate. I like Culantro, basil and mint but they didn’t have much offering. Highly disappointed in this category. One of my friends ordered the deep-fried spring rolls and I tried it. It was very crispy and not oily. I wrapped mine in lettuce, added some of the noodles and dipped them into the fish sauce. It was very good. At the end of your meal I was advised they don’t bring the check to the table. You need to go up to the register to pay. The cool part that he rung our orders individually when we paid. Overall, a great dining experience here and worth coming back. NOTE: The restroom here is way in the back of the restaurant and you need to pass the kitchen. To my delight, the kitchen and bathroom were both very clean.
