The sweet-and-sour spare ribs plate lunch(a Monday special) from Tommy’s are to die for. I have to repeat that – to die for. Maybe it’s the way the spare ribs are just about to fall apart. Or how even the cartilage has been melted into a soft gelatin. Or the mac salad, which serves as a great counterpoint. In any case, the owner’s love for cooking great food comes through. I haven’t been back to the Island in over a year, but I still dream about my next plate lunch from here. By the way, the swordfish is great, too. However, all of the choices are first-come first-served, so hustle down there if you want any of the specials.
