Oh no. I’m sitting in the parking lot while my son runs in to pick up a takeout order. Employees are back here on break smoking. One just hacked a huge green loogie onto the ground. I’m going to be sick. Don’t want my order from here. Gross gross gross disgusting

Just finished eating. Waited on by Shannon. Super friendly and fun guy. Everything was quick. The ribs were tender, but I’m a saucy person so I requested more sauce. Corn on the cob soft, but still good– they give a large helping of butter. Coleslaw was on par as well as their loaded baked potato. We were too stuffed for dessert, but look forward to coming again. Half a onion loaf fed 6 of us. A bit oily, but beautiful presentation. Overall great experience.

Service was awesome. Seated quickly and got our food quickly. The house manager was attentive to every detail, for example making sure we had enough elbow room. The only thing I would want to share is that they put a bit of the in sauce in the shrimp scampi. Not what I’m used to, but delicious all the same.

had the dinner special with ribs, shrimp and steak and a shrimp scampi pasta. the meat was OK, ribs a little overcooked and was a little hard, the steak was weird — can’t tell why, the meat was falling apart and the sauce was not that good the pasta came with a lot of shrimp and they were very fresh. not sure if I would recommend, but for some people it might be worth trying.

Delicious fall of the bone ribs. Middle of the road side and veggies though. Still good and still will go back. Staff was nice and thorough. The décor is a little dated.

Had a late dinner here. No wait, promptly seated, order placed and food was good. I wanted a side salad and the waiter told me I couldn’t have one! I was willing to pay the extra $ 3 for it. So after repeating my request twice and twice told I couldn’t have one, I gave up. The Cole slaw was delicious. The rest of our food was hot and tasty. No real complaints, except the price was a bit high.

What to say about a place that blows it on the dish they are supposed tone experts on it. Bad ribs, cold baked potato, etc. Feel sorry for the waiters that have to make excuses for all the bad food.

Do not eat here! This place is horrible! My family was in town visiting and the wait at other restaurants in Waikiki had very lengthy wait times and we decided to try out Tony Roma’s. What a mistake. It started off with a restaurant that had very bad table set up making it impossible to have a private dinner, it felt like we could pass bread between the tables. Once seated we were given our menus and nothing else. It was about 15 minutes before our waiter rushed over and took our drink order. However, only one of us was able to order a drink before he rushed off and came back with a whole tray of drinks we did not order. We reviewed the menu and decided to share an appetizer before our main courses came out. The waiter came back and took our appetizer order and our main course order at the same time. He wasn’t writing any of our orders down which I don’t have a problem with if my order comes out correctly. About 45 minutes later our food delivery begins… we are given a massive platter consisting of a partial rack of each type of ribs which we did not order. My aunt is served tilapia when she ordered chicken. We told our waiter that it didn’t look like the chicken meal she ordered and he insisted it was correct and it was not fish. My husband was served his meal which seemed to be correct and my uncle’s meal also seemed to be correct. My aunt cut into her«chicken» which was indeed tilapia. We flagged down the quarter and he apologized and immediately took the dish back to the kitchen. We explained to him that he served us the«rib sampler» and not the«appetizer sampler» to which he said, «Well, I didn’t serve the appetizer sampler because you didn’t order that.» Again we had to explain to him we had ordered the appetizer and never received the meal. He stormed off and came back with the appetizer sampler we had ordered to begin with while we were about half way done with our meal and my aunt’s chicken dinner. None of our meals were perfect. The food was nothing to write home about and wasn’t served very hot. Meals served with the wrong sides, wrong orders coming to our table, and a very impatient and incompetent waiter. He brought the bill to our table and indeed had charged us for the rib sampler we did not order. We asked to speak to a manager just because the service was so poor and we noticed all of his other tables were able very upset with their meals. Upon speaking to the manager he apologized again and again for the mistakes. He ended up compensating us for the rib sampler, appetizer sampler, and my aunt’ meals. He tried to give us coupons but we told him we were not interested in returning.

It has been a long while since I’ve been to Tony Roma’s restaurant. Surprisingly, all the times I have eaten here in the past I haven’t tried their ribs. This visit, I made sure to try their signature baby back ribs. It took me forever to get to the hotel and by that time the hunger pains had begun to settle in. Since we were so hungry, Tony Roma’s was the best option as being ‘hangry’ only meat can satisfy this kind of tummy rumblings. We checked in and were seated right away. The restaurant wasn’t busy(guessing because it was late), typical old school steak restaurant décor, dimly lit, dark woods, carpeting, guess they’re keeping it old school. I decided on the combo of baby back ribs with fried shrimp. My sides were a loaded baked potato and corn on the cob. We also ordered a full order onion loaf. I didn’t care much for the onion loaf as it was hard to eat and very oily. Oh did I mention I could knock someone out with our complimentary bread? Yeah, I could. The inside of the bread was soft but the outside nearly won the battle with the knife. The food came out looking great, as I took a bite of the ribs it fell right off the bone. Unfortunately, everything was just okay. Nothing to shout to food Gods about, or to even whisper to the person next to you. I expected an explosion of flavor, either from the barbeque sauce or the seasoning of the ribs, nada. The fried shrimp was also bland. The bread was the best part, after battling to get to the center. Our server was friendly, though he forgot a lot of things. Here comes the bad. Being that I took forever to get where I needed to be, I had to use the restroom especially after drinking 3 glasses of iced tea. I walked into the restroom gagged and had to speed walk outside! There are only two stalls and both stalls looked like a real life ‘Jackass Movie’ had just gotten filmed in there! I almost lost my dinner! The lady who walked in the bathroom after me, was right behind me heading out the door. As I was dry heaving, she was«trying» to explain to her friends what she saw in the bathroom. All she could muster up was«she what she’s doing?» as she pointed over to me, «that’s how bad it is!» Everything was going okay, until the Jackass moment in the end. How can no one see both stalls overflowing with … ugh!

The food is rock solid, with their ribs being fall-off-the-bone perfect, and the workers are just really nice, too, always friendly and people pleasing. One time my mom noticed a small bit of metal in her meal and asked our waiter for an exchange. The waiter comes back a few minutes later with the manager, who apologizes for the mistake and tells my mom that her meal will not only be replaced, but we won’t have to pay for it! They go above and beyond. The prices aren’t too shabby and something I noticed is that the food comes out really fast, too. Also their bread is awesome and it’s hard to keep yourself from filling up on it since it’s easy to ask for more. My family and I always make it a point to come to Tony Roma’s when we’re on Oahu.

I haven’t been to this location in over twenty years and it is just as good now as it was back then and a lot cleaner. We took the whole family there for dinner on 8÷21÷15. Ambiance — The restaurant was a little warm and the server said they were having some A/C issues, but it wasn’t completely intolerable. The staff was friendly and the server was prompt and courteous making the dining experience that much more enjoyable. The restaurant was very clean which is a far takeaway from the place I went to 20 years ago when smoking was still allowed in restaurants and the smoke was billowing into the air and sticking to the walls of the establishment. Food — We started off with their famous onion loaf and the flavor was crispy, crunchy and not too overpowering with the onion flavor. The dipping sauce –BBQ Sauce– that comes with it is a nice, bold compliment to the dish adding that extra kick. There was a slight amount of grease build up on the bottom of the plate but that was to be expected for something fried, though they could have let it drain a bit more before sending it out of the kitchen. For dinner the ½ slab of original baby backs with the beef tenderloins accompanied with cole slaw and baked beans was calling my name… after all, they are a ‘place for ribs’. The ribs were moist and tender with that bold and spicy BBQ sauce that Tony Roma’s is known for with an ample amount of meat for each rib. I asked for the tenderloin to be medium rare and they were cooked to perfection. The demi-glacé sauce that was drizzled over the beef added to the flavor explosion and rounded out the dish rather nicely. The cole slaw wasn’t overly soggy and still had some crunch to it, without the extra vinegar taste I normally get from slaw at other places. The beans however, were another story and the best word I can use to describe it would be ‘boring’. Everyone else in our party had the ribs aside for my nephew who had the lobster. I tried a small piece of it and it was very tender and not overcooked with a lot of flavor. If ribs are what you are seeking, then Tony Roma’s is definitely the place to go and I would recommend you give it a try.

This location has been here for over 20 years,(since my high school days) I am so glad we still have a Tony Roma’s! This location & Aiea. Decided to dine here on my 1st night of stay-cation in Waikiki. It was a 15 min walk from our hotel *note-parking is valet only Checked in with hostess at front. It was a 25 mins wait for our table Time passed by fast. *no waiting area, we waited outside, which was a bus stop. They will go out to call you. It can get crowded in front of restaurant. Tony Roma’s sure has the best ribs! It is fall off the bone meat & oh so soft! What I regret about my order: I wish I got ribs as well! (I just ate a piece of my other half’s plate) Our orders: half order baby back ribs, choice of side: baked potato with the works, & cole slaw. 18.99 –yummy! Teriyaki chicken sandwich –9.99 My recommendation: go for the ribs! I didn’t care for this, sandwich came with half chicken breast, piece of pineapple, lettuce, tomato, & onions + fries. The chicken was on the sweeter side, bun got soggy. Got the add on Caesar salad for 2.99. Salad was huge! I enjoyed the salad! Also got the Mac & cheese which my son enjoyed. We were stuffed! Didn’t make it to dessert. Our waiter was very friendly & our water was always filled I’m just happy that Tony Roma’s is here !! If not, I’d have to add this place yo my list of eateries on my trip to Vegas.(Ex.TGIF, Olive Garden) Over-all, I will definitely come back again for more ribs! & so glad I made the choice to dine here!

Maybe it’s because the first ribs I’ve ever eaten was at Tony Roma’s. Maybe because their onion loaf just tastes better with their original BBQ sauce. Or maybe it’s because the waiter who’s served us the last 4 times we’ve been here is just the greatest waiter ever. Four stars may seem a little generous for most. Because heck, aren’t there a lot of other places that has better ribs? That could be true but I am not reviewing this place in comparison. This Tony Roma’s is located right on Kuhio avenue before Kalakaua and Kuhio splits. Parking is free valet or self park behind the building if a valet isn’t available. The service is nearly flawless. Except for the not so friendly or inviting hostesses at the front. But our waiter was exceptional. We have been here for just about 4 times in the past 2 years and tonight he serves us(again) and what a delight to hear him welcome us by our family name. Wow he remembered our last name! Ok ok maybe it’s not so amazing because he’s a fan of high school football and he’s heard of my sons. How flattering is that?! Ha. The atmosphere is okay. Nothing fancy. There’s a small bar with two TV’s if you should find a need to have a drink or two. The onion loaf is a must. It’s just one of those loaves that i occasionally crave for in the most random of moments. I admit, I’ve googled a copy cat recipe of this appetizer and although I’d say it turned out pretty good, I’d stick to just coming here for the real deal. My usual is their usual. The original baby back ribs. Fall off the bones. Like literally just stick your fork in it and it breaks apart. The only reason you’d need to pick up the ribs is to lick the excess meat and sauce on them. Talk about finger licken, this is it. Wet and dirty. Yes! I always get the loaded baked potato with my meal. They have the best baked potato here. I mean how can anyone mess up baked potato right? Well it’s happened and I think the baked potatoes here are just perfectly cooked. And when you mash all the fixings in, yummmmm!!! It’s like a loaded mashed potato. Delicious! Kids eat free on Tuesday for each entrée ordered, which for my family, is a huge deal!

When you are registered online with Tony Roma’s, they send you a coupon for up to $ 15.99 off your entrée for your birthday. That is where my family ended up as part of my dad’s birthday celebration. Service: Our waitress Michelle was excellent. Attentive and had great suggestions. She even mentioned that if we liked their FB page, that we could get a free dessert on the house! Food: Tony Roma’s on the house bread is so fresh and yummy! My mom said that the bread reminded her of home. We all ordered the Potato Soup which was soo good. It’s comparable to Outback’s Potato soup. Large entrée portions. I split one of the specials with my mom. Priced at $ 33 it included 2 filet medallians. half a rack of ribs, 1 shrimp skewer and veggie side and loaded baked potato. So much food! We even had leftovers. Dessert was affordably priced, most starting at $ 3.99.

We were kind of sick of our usual line up for food, and I didn’t know what I felt like eating. So I asked my boyfriend to pick where we ate tonight and he immediately said«BABYBACKRIBS». And while I know that is not a place, I know he meant Tony Roma’s. They have free valet here, but just remember to tip your friendly valet guy! Very conveniently located right in front of the restaurant, so after you leave stuffed you can waddle into your car and drive off to kanack attack at home in peace. But yeah, baby back ribs. We had two full racks, I had the original sauce and my boyfriend had the honey sauce. Each set of ribs comes with a free side and a cole slaw, and we both had the loaded baked potato. Add an onion loaf(like a fried block of onion rings all smushed together. yesss) and some of their Cadillac margaritas(mine was frozen, strawberry and DELICIOUS!!) and you’re all set! You don’t come here for a big fancy meal. or at least I don’t. I wear an old shirt, tie up my hair and just get all up in those melt off the bone ribs. And of course get your leftovers to go! I forgot how big their portions were, and in retrospect we could’ve eaten maybe a whole rack between us. But the only thing better than baby back ribs at Tony Roma’s is baby back rib leftovers at home, and I have no regrets! Also, a random nice touch at the end of the meal was the hot towel they give you to wipe your hands with. Thanks Tony Roma, we shall be back!

In my opinion, Tony Roma’s has the best baby back ribs. The meat is literally falling off the bone and that barbecue sauce is perfection. The baby back ribs are the only thing that I come here for along with the onion loaf, which they use the same barbecue sauce for dipping as the ribs. I’ve always loved their onion loaf, even as a kid. Some parts of it are crunchy but it’s not fully battered like onion rings. It’s messy to eat though. It’s stuck together, so you just have to pull it apart with your fingers. Just try it and don’t forget the sauce. I just drench it, lol. Getting back to the ribs, it comes with two sides. It comes with coleslaw and another side of your choice. I don’t like coleslaw so I always ask to sub it out. I get the corn on the cob and baked potato with all the trimmings(bacon, butter, sour cream, cheese). If you’ve been following my reviews, you’d know that the hubby doesn’t eat red meat or seafood. Therefore, he ordered the parmesan chicken pesto? Don’t quote me on the name but that’s what it looks like. I didn’t taste it but he said that it was good. The portion must have been huge because he finishes everything, whereas I always doggy bag it. Well, tonight he left with a doggie bag as well. One of our friends ordered the spinach dip. That was yummy. I couldn’t stop eating it. It came with chips, yay, and not bread. If you know me, you’d know that I don’t care for bread much. Anyway, the spinach dip came out hot and the cheese was stringy. Our server was awesome. He kept refilling our drinks and asking if we needed anything. We kept asking him to bring us things. I thanked him and he said, «no worries.» My kind of person, because that’s what I always tell people too. At night, it’s only valet parking. The valet is free so just be sure to tip the guy.

Overall Impression: It was alright. Food was good, especially the ribs. Great customer service. Ambience, not so much. Avg price for dinner: $ 20 – 25 Positives: –The ribs are always amazing here –Customer service was actually very good. –Free parking(there’s a valet, but he let us just park there without having to tip him or anything) –free bread, and it’s really good too! Negatives: –The interior needs some decorating –Smelled like piss for some reason –I kind of thought it was a bit pricey for what you get, but I can see why others would disagree Came here at 9 pm on a Tuesday night. Didn’t need reservations and we were seated right away. Customer service: Our server and busboys were really great. They were always checking on us, got us the food quickly, gave us extra bread when we asked for it, filled our water frequently, and were overall very nice. The valet guy in the parking lot was also really cool, although I have to say that he wasn’t there at the entrance even though the sign said«wait for valet». We ended up just parking by ourselves and he later came by and said that was fine. Ambience: Dimly lit interior. It just kind of looked like an old restaurant. I think they need to redo the place. Nothing special about it. And I don’t know why, but the whole place smelled like piss from the moment I sat down until I left. Food Quality: Their ribs are always amazing. Meat falls right off the bone and the sauce is so good. I think you can eat the ribs with any of the sides and be pretty happy. We asked for extra sauce and got it. The corn on the cob was pretty good. I actually really liked the coleslaw. I got the half ribs w/2 sides for 18.95. My friend got the same except he got the full rack for 25.99. The half rack with 2 sides was just the perfect size for me. Tip: Entertainment Book has buy one entrée, get one free up to $ 14 max value.

Although the ambience leaves a lot to be desired, the service and food are fantastic. My family and I went in at about 9/10pm and there was no wait. I don’t know if it’s a common thing, but I liked how all the servers were helping one another with each others tables. Our water/soda glasses were never empty and the servers were very courteous. I would recommend this restaurant to foodies staying in Waikiki who are looking for excellent, friendly service, yummy food in a convenient location.
