Hats off to Judy and Frankie for throwing such a great UYE and for having it at a place that’s been on my to try list for a while! Sorry for such a late review(two months!?). I got to meet a bunch of awesome new friends, finally met some online Unilocal friends for the first time in real life, and of course, got to hang out with some already friends again, so it was definitely a treat! Just thinking about that night, I’m in need of some more Bread + Butter! Frankie and Judy, when’s the next UYE? GOTEAMBUTTER!

When: July 22, 2015 on a Wednesday night Where: Bread + Butter Reason to attend: Frankie R’s first time hosting a UYE with help from co-host Judy C Jerrae and I were the first ones to arrive at Bread + Butter after Frankie. Slowly more Unilocalers started to show up. We ended up taking one section of the restaurant near the entrance. I informed one of the employees that we were expecting 16 individuals for our group not knowing that the group got extended to almost 25 people(when Paul showed up at the restaurant we had to get another table and chair so he could be part of the group, Alex’s friend Matt arrived and he quickly sat down on his reserved spot… all other late arrivals ended up eating by the counter). What an awesome turnout! Bread + Butter is a cafeteria type of restaurant. As I was looking over the menu my eyes landed on PIZZA. I looked over the different types of pizza and it settled on MARGHERITA pizza. I ordered the Margherita pizza. I shared one slice of pizza with Unilocal newbie Michael. Jerrae shared one slice of her French Dip pizza with me and I in turn shared one slice of my pizza with her. I also had a sample of her Firecracker gouda dip. I also finished off Paul’s pipikaula and smoked meat. Now that majority of the group were done eating we started our ice breaker challenge(Michael left before the game started). Team Bread vs Team Butter. I was part of Team Bread. Each member of the team had to use the word BREAD or BUTTER in a sentence. Everyone that participated in the ice breaker challenge had some interesting sentences that either got a person salivating for«lobster covered in BUTTER» or even chair dancing to «I like big BREADs and I can not lie». It’s always awesome to see people that I recognized from previous UYE’s like Maka, Cathy, Jacob, Angel and Anthony, Paul, Terrance(I would have given you a hug when you walked in but I was trapped), Doug, Matt, Alex, Kristine, Judy’s husband Nelson and of course my Waianae Coast partner Jerrae. Also making new friends with Michael, Michelle(Doug’s work partner) and Omar(Alex’s friend). Much mahalos to our awesome co-hosts Frankie and Judy. I enjoyed myself. When’s the next UYE?

Much mahalos, goes out to Frankie R and Judy C for hosting last nights UYE at Bread + Butter! It is always wonderful seeing the usually Unilocal suspects, with whom I’m able to have a great time, laugh it up and live it up with! It was my first time at Bread + Butter, we walked into a very clean, hip and relaxed atmosphere. Frankie R. was the first person there(good host. lol) and welcoming us enthusiastically. We had a portion of the restaurant sectioned off for us, which was fantastic, semi privacy, lol. I had gotten the french dip pizza(meh) and the firecracker Gouda dip. The crackers(spicy pita bread) were fantastic! I love the little mason jars which they have set out for your complimentary lemon water… so hip and chic ;) I had a great time with everyone, so awesome seeing my girl Kristine C, Alex G, wonderful surprise seeing Paul walk in, yeah buddy! Made a bunch of new friends from Traci, Jacob, new Unilocaler Michael, Alex’s friends Omar and Mattyyyyyy… hahah! I’m bad with names but I enjoyed meeting you all. Thank you again my sweetie Judy and Frankie«behbeh» for an awesome night. My partner in crime Ms. Jeana P, you’re awesome Ms. Wahine bandit! Oh and I actually won a prize! Thank you all for such a memorable occasion, I cant wait for the next one!

Go Team Balut! Oops, I meant Go Team Bread!!! Tonight about 24 Yeeps showed up at Bread + Butter. I hesitated as Judy C. informed us that the air conditioning was out of order. It’s been awfully warm and the thought about eating in an enclosed restaurant without air conditioning scared me! However, Kristine C. texted me informing the AC was working so I made it down. It was cool to have seen many old faces and met a few new ones. Had a blast sitting near Jeana P and Jerrae R. These girls from the west are wild! I also had great discussions of our favorite places to eat and why Angel H., who likes ramen noodles instead of udon noodles, is the Duchess of IYO Udon! After sampling the menu we had an ice-breaker making sentences using«bread» and«butter». There were some cool prizes but the grand prize went to Anthony H. ! Congratulations! In closing, I had a great evening with my fellow Yeeps. Thanks to co-hosts Frankie and Judy for organizing.

Thanks to Judy C. and Frankie R. for co-hosting this event. It was fun getting to catch up with old friends and meeting new ones. Thanks to Jerrae R. and Jeana P. for sharing their table with us. When I first walked in, they had a sign in sheet and name tags. The name tags had either the word Bread or Butter on it. That was the team that you’re on for the game that they had planned. What they did was have everyone take turns using the word Bread or Butter in a sentence. Some Yeeps came up with some really funny sentences. Kristine C. had the best sentence of the night when she said, «I like big breads and I cannot lie,» lol. You order your food at the cashier. They give you a number and bring the food to your table when it’s done. The food fell a little short for me. The squid ink pasta was just ok and overpriced at around $ 17. The four cheese and honey pizza was good but still overpriced. It was nice to see Paul C. He’s actually a really funny guy. After dinner, they had a drawing for prizes. The hubby, Anthony H., won the grand prize! Thanks for picking his name Jerrae R. Thanks for the prizes Judy C. and Frankie R. I had a nice time.
