I know this is super late, but I’d like to send a super huge MAHALO out to Nadine and Trish for hosting such a wonderful event! I’ve always wanted to check out the Ruth’s Chris Happy Hour, and it was an even better experience since it was with a bunch of awesome folks! It was great reconnecting with already friends, and meeting new friends for the first time! We even had a great ice breaker game where we all had to use our detective skills, and I did pretty awesomely at it, if I do say so for myself. :P I’m looking forward to seeing what Nadine and Trish come up with next! Do I win the tardiness award?

When people write about«hidden gems», I kind of laugh to myself… thinking that a place, a business, a restaurant, or an event have so many variables that it could be a different experience for another person on any given day. Menus change, servers come and go, renovations happen, and new restaurants are on the horizon… To me, a «hidden gem» is a Unilocaler! Think about it… Who else in their right mind takes pictures of their food? Hahaha! Each Unilocaler is so unique. Some are really easy to get to know, while others take time to warm up, but just dig a little deeper and you’re sure to find a treasure! For example: I was a bit nervous meeting for the first time In Real Life«Butterfly» and her +1; Angela and her hubby, Cyril; and Liza. They are all wonderful persons and I hope to see everyone again soon! So glad that this was Pam M.‘s First UYE — congratulations on being brave and meeting a bunch of strangers! Nice to meet her local boy hubby, Kip! Other highlights of this event were the presence of a former Unilocal Ambassador: Cathy T.; the attendance of UYE Duke & Unilocal Mayor of Chinatown: Paul C.; and quick visits by Gold Badge Elites Terrance and Gary. It’s always nice to see Traci, Sheryll, Miguel, Jacob, and Mahina. And of course… my fabulous Co-host, Trish! She’s so organized, calm, and cheerful! She’s going to have some fun UYEs for us to go to, so sign up soon! Or go to any UYE — they are all like treasure hunts with many hidden gems to discover! Thanks to everyone for attending, participating in the challenging game, and making this Happy Hour happier! Glad that we got to try a «new» place in Air Conditioned comfort, meet each other and find out interesting facts about our friends! You all are Good Sports and Bright, Shiny Treasures! Aloha!

Unilocalers who like flying airplanes, who are trilingual, who have eaten crocodiles!!! Wait what?! Yep, you read right! Unilocal Hawaii has some of the most interesting people :) Ruth’s Chris isn’t on my list of places to frequent as I don’t enjoy steak as much as most. But Auntie Nadine was cohosting with Trish and I knew that meant fun! If you didn’t attend, you did miss out on some excitement but that means you’ll have to come to the next one! The paaaarttyyy started promptly at 5:00pm :) we got to mingle and talk amongst each other. I got to chit chat with Gary, Terrance, Cyril, Angela, and Pam quite a bit at the table! Great company! Our ice breaker was intense but fun and I got to know interesting and unique facts about everyone! :) if you didn’t know, I can’t throw a shaka on my right hand and that was one of my facts! As for the food, I went with the barbequed shrimp and French fries. The French fries aren’t my favorite since it was super soggy but the shrimp was on point. Deliciously flavorful, large and plump, and not overcooked! :)(and it came with a tiny scoop of mashed potatoes!) Thanks to Nadine and Trish for hosting an awesome UYE! Looking forward to future events! And of course I write this as I’m spinning on a bicycle because I feel guilty for eating those fries. :P

My first UYE event was super fun! I was a little nervous meeting a whole bunch of new people. We had a challenging but fun ice breaker game & we all received prizes from Auntie Nadine. We had drinks & food from their happy hour menu & it we shared family style(the best & Unilocaly way)! We shared: Oysters Rockefeller(4⁄5) osso bucco ravioli(3⁄5) Fried calamari(3.5÷5) Seared ahi(4⁄5) Shoestring fries(3.5÷5) Thank you Trish & Auntie Nadine for hosting a fun event! It was great to meet other Unilocalers & make new friends.

What a fun and awesome event! I’ve never been to Ruth’s Chris before so this was a new adventure for me! :) I brought along my friend Shari, who I think also had a great time meeting new people and realizing how small the island is. This is 3rdUYE I’ve ever been to as an elite… I know sad. But I’m happy I’ve been making it to more events. Their happy is hour is so nice too! All those delicious food $ 10 a plate for the most part and drink specials starting off at $ 3. Loved it! The game we had at the event, along with name tags made it even more interesting. As we learned many facts we may or may not have known of the people on the table. So much fun! We received awesome prizes too, such as cute hand sanitizers or hand soaps from Auntie Nadine and Trish passed out goodie bags. I’m so happy I made it! It was a lot of fun. Great job guys! :)

So many cat lovers. Someone lived near Mel Gibson while growing up. Who doesn’t own any Apple products? How is one to know these facts just by meeting Yeeps for the first time? Especially when I showed up fashionably late… :p Gosh, this UYE sure had a difficult ice-breaker game. As we arrived co-host Nadine C. passed out a game sheet and we had to write 3 things about our self and don’t show anyone and return it back to her. Over 20 Yeeps showed up on yet another HUMID afternoon and sit in a semi-private dining room with great air conditioning to cool off. We sipped on «happy juice» and munched on a large selection of Happy Hour pupus. It was cool meeting many new faces tonight. We even had a guest appearance by the legendary Unilocaler, Russel M. In the end Jacob N. was victorious with 9 correct answers. I fared well by tying for 3rd place with 6 points and won a Bath and Body Works Pumpkin Latte hand soap! As we parted, all attendees received a goodie bag with a sheet of Hello Kitty stickers from Trish N. In closing, thanks to co-hosts Trish N. and Nadine C. for a great Friday afternoon spending quality time with my fellow Yeeps to kick off my weekend.
