Looking for a cool refreshing snack in Kaimuki? This place is the go to place. Shave ice is huge and their coconut bubble(boba) tea is by far the best that I have ever had. There is a place in Chinatown in the Maunakea Marketplace that claims to be the best. Tried it and Waialae Shave Ice is way better for my coconut bubble tea fix. They serve a variety of items and you need to go down and see what I mean. The place is clean and the service is quick and efficient. They also have a frequent buyer program where at the end, after having the card filled out, you get $ 5 off your next purchase. What a deal!

Ordered a small shave ice for $ 2.75 and plain dry mochi was an additional charge. Your choice of 3 flavors. I got pineapple, li hing, and vanilla. All were sweet and good size for a small. The place had a happy feel to it and lots of tables to enjoy your drinks. Don’t forget to start a stamp card!

This place is pretty close to my place and I always drive by it. One day I was super drunk and I was craving some taro bubble drank. It was 5 minutes before closing and I gave them a call and asked if it ok if I could order take out. The lady was nice and said it was fine. Have you ever had a bubble drink that made you smile from ear to ear? Was it because I was drunk? Or was it the best damn taro bubble drank on the island? ITWASTHEBESTDAMNTAROBUBBLEDRANKONTHEISLAND. I love my local boba place for two reasons, and they aren’t even the boba! 1) the management is so friendly and nice. It’s a husband and wife I believe and they are always in the best mood. 2) the Unilocal special. There’s no limit. Every time you check in you get free boba added to your drink. Done and done.

Waialae Shave Ice & Bubble Tea is a cute mom and pop type dessert shop in the heart of Waialae Kaimuki. My workplace is boba ball crazy. Ball so hard, like pretty much every day hard. So the addiction to this place started when a coworker tried it out and really enjoyed it. She introduced it to a bunch of us and we got hooked. What we really enjoy about this place is they offer a plethora of options. There’s the standard milk tea, you can have it blended, you can put Mochi in, you can add boba, or custard, or liquid gold. Okay maybe not liquid gold, but their milk tea certainly tastes golden! There is a loyalty card that we have already filled up, twice, and probably many more to come as well. I’ve had their blended signature milk tea many times and have never been disappointed. Their boba is really chewy and tasty! The Mochi balls aren’t the best I’ve ever had but it’ll do for you Mochi lovers who do not really like boba. My friend swears by their custard so it must be good because she’s the most frequent customer of us all. She goes their so often that the owner said«just text me your order when you on your way and I’ll have it ready for you!» Talk about service! The parking is non existent, but we normally just park illegally and have someone run in. Lol. Although I would never recommend y’all to do that of course. P.s look at some of the funny things they post on their walls, your day will immediately get better! Ball out!

This place is delightfully quirky. This is the first place I have been where you can have bubbles in your shave ice, or bubbles in Hawaiian soda, or some flan on top of shave ice with bubbles. I am not sure why more people have not thought of these combinations but it is genius and delicious. We tried the melona flavored soda with bubble and the pudding shave ice with bubble. There is so much more I want to try here that you can not get at your typical and conventional shave ice shop. I also love the funny jokes and pictures on the walls. This place is pure delight!

OMG. As of 10÷10÷15 my search for the holy grail of shave ice is complete. Parking might be a B during peak hours but it’s worth it. Best thing is they are open until 7pm. How does this place beat all the others? 1 It’s cheap and large servings 2 Best shave ever. Lightest. Smoothest 3 Best syrups. Tasty and flavorful 4 Best Toppings. Huge selection 5 Open late 6 Teas and bubble teas. Great flavor 7 Loyalty Card I’ve been to «all» the major shave ice stops on the island. This came as a recommendation from a coworker. If you have any other competitors please send me a message or compliment. If not, please do yourself a «flavor» and check it out.

Well… coming here was a big disappointment. I got a Taro Bubble Smoothie and it lacked flavor. It tasted watered down. Sadly I got the large for 4.95 and now have to force myself to drink at least half. I got my kids shave ice for 1.50, not a bad price for kid size shave ice but not a good enough deal to bring me back here.

This place really hit the spot on a hot & humid day. I had the lilikoi lychee shaved iced and my son had the chocolate shave ice with ice cream and bubbles which he devoured., my wf had the taro bubble tea, which she didn’t like that much, she said it was watered down and not as tasty. Overall a great place on a hot day. Will be returning

I love this place! We finally got a good bubble tea /shave ice in the neighborhood. I love how sweet the cashier is, as soon as I take a step inside I would always hear«hello, welcome» with a big smile on his face. He’s the sweetest ever, even when we leave this place he would be like«bye have a nice day» I’ve never went to a place with such great customer service! And that’s a big plus. So far I’ve tried the shave ice w/tapioca and pudding, mango /strawberry banana bubble drink and Taiwan milk tea w/tapioca… They are all delicious but my favorite has to be the shave ice with pudding and tapioca it is so refreshing especially because it’s so hot in Hawaii! Prices are really decent like most places, it is a new place so they’re not busy just yet but i think this place is worth a try! :)

The cashier was very sweet — I couldn’t decide what to get, so they offered me a little grass jelly to taste. Awesome customer service! Decided to get the lychee iced tea with grass jelly for myself,(2) kids shave ice for my minis, longan ice tea with Boba for babe, and large shave ice with all the fixins for papa! Service: quick and friendly Food: shave ice was so soft and flavorful. Tea was refreshing! Price is comparable to other shave ice/bubble drink places(except… $ 1 kids shave ice is an awesome deal). Ambiance: Bright yellow walls, very clean and playful — post-it notepads and different colored sharpies along the barstool areas to leave notes that they display on the walls. Location: LOVE-LOVE Kaimuki! So happy there’s a place like this here. Waialae never offers a lot of street parking… but that’s no problem. Turn on a side street and you’re good to go. Will definitely be back to fill up my rewards card! Only bummer — no restrooms here.

SO happy that they have a bubble tea shop in my neighborhood! The tea is homemade, the boba is delicious & less than $ 4 for a regular sized milk tea with boba. Seems like they have a great variety of teas and toppings to select from. They had grass jelly for my friend. I only wish that parking was easier… but whatever, it wasn’t too bad and I love to support little small mom & pop type shops. Service was great. Looking forward to more boba drinks!

I visited this cute little treasure yesterday and found that they just opened 3 weeks ago. The person at the counter– assuming it’s the owner, was very welcoming and kind. He shared with me the array of selections that they have from shave ice, bubble tea and slush bubble tea. The environment was very bright and warm which I loved! I just ordered their signature black tea with bubbles($ 3.25 + 0.50 for bubbles) which I inhaled in 5 minutes– very yummy! Their prices seemed reasonable and very similar to other shave ice and bubble tea places. Their customer service is EXCELLENT! All the time– everytime! They are always so welcoming, patient and always make sure the customers are satisfied before leaving. Now THAT is customer service! That’s what Kaimuki is all about!!! Small business that thrive! The only thing that I didn’t care for was their limited parking. I also wished I could see in their store from the outside, but they have the windows blocked. A very cute place once you’re inside!

Waialae shave ice is located across from the zippy’s in waialae and it’s next to a chinese import company. First impression walking in: very mellow, clean area and the ambiance was quite relaxing. I was then greeted by a man who patiently waited to take my order. I ordered the large taro milk tea and it took less than five minutes to prepare! They have stamp cards for purchases over $ 5 and the price is reasonable. Now for the taste test, I really enjoyed it! There was tiny pieces of taro which is nice because I assume it’s made from freshly blended taro. The boba was a bit hard but on the chewy/edible side. Needless to say I am quite fond of this adorable bubble tea place. I heard that there was $ 1 shave ice, but it’s the keiki size and it’s only one flavor, but hey you can’t complain about the price. Otherwise I would say it is your usual bubble tea location. Personally I’d prefer mr. tea or taste tea.
