Best place in the Mapunapuna area for cheap but well prepared plate lunches. Go on their webpage to download their monthly calendar of daily specials

I love this place! Good food & good prices. Breakfast is the best. Everyday theres specials or something different so your not eating the same stuff every time you go there. Its hidden so I don’t think many people know about this place you would never know unless someone told you. Every time I go I order almost everything because it doesn’t break the bank and everything is good. Sandwiches and soups too. LOVEIT! I love to eat and im very picky so you cant go wrong.

Is it just me or has it been weirdly and annoyingly cold lately? Either way, my friend Corie and I wanted some yummy soup to warm us us on a windy and chilly afternoon. After a quick search on my Unilocal mobile app I saw that both Emi H’s and Pua P’s reviews of Webco included mentioning how delicious their soups are. Decision made! #winning! When we spotted the Webco building we were dumbfounded. Where exactly were the delicious soups and sandwiches hiding in these large scary industrial buildings? We followed an unsuspecting group of hungry looking employees around until they led us straight into the cafeteria! Muhaha! We used our powers of deduction to come to the conclusion that this was not just another day as there were several workers with multiple leis on and gift baskets galore along one of the walls. Turns out it was the last day for 3 lovely ladies who worked at the cafeteria. We watched as they took picture, cried, and laughed as they helped one customer after another. When it was our turn we quickly ordered(two medium clam chowders, one teri burger, one turkey burger for like $ 12!) and asked the ladies if they were closing because we just discovered this place and if they closed we would be so sad! Luckily they assured us that the Webco café would still be open and that there are 5 employees(including the little old lady who makes the soups) who will be staying. Phew! Anyhow the food is good homemade style sandwiches and salads. Tasty grilled burgers and plate lunches. And of course the soup is really outstanding! The potatoes were the perfect consistency(no gluey gummy-ness) and the chowder wasn’t grainy or clotted looking. Large chunks of clams floated in the soup and it was not too salty, not too sweet but just right! They serve a different style of soup everyday and have a menu of daily specials. I know for a fact that I will be coming here again soon because the prices are very reasonable and the food is AWESOME!

Webco has an awesome cafeteria which is definitely the hidden gem in the Mapunapuna area. The cafeteria is literally one of those«hole in the wall» places as the brown door to the cafeteria has no indication of what lies behind it. They are open to the public and are open from 5:30 am to 1:30 pm Monday through Friday. They have the best deals for breakfast and lunch. They have a set menu and also have a monthly menu with lunch specials. Some of my favorites are spaghetti w/sausage and garlic bread, roasted chicken w/stuffing and gravy, and steak w/GG’s mashed potatoes. Service is pretty good, it’s almost like going to your Auntie’s kitchen. Parking is very limited though; you will have to find street parking. Bring cash because they don’t accept credit/debit cards.

Webco is the cheapest home-cooked meal you’ll ever find at a «restaurant» in Honolulu.(I’m using the word«restaurant» very lightly here…) Believe it or not, the key word in that sentence is «FIND.» Since the Webco Hawaii Cafeteria in the Webco Hawaii building in Mapunapuna, the only way you’d ever find it is if you work at Webco, if you go to Webco for something and stumble upon the cafeteria, or if someone is awesome enough to tell you that it’s there. and today is your lucky day because that awesome someone is ME! Alright, I can’t take all the credit, we had a couple«awesome someone’s» looking out for us and let us in on the Webco Cafeteria secret. Emi H. and I were introduced to the awesomeness of Webco during a meeting with Polly & Megan, our Hawaii Foodbank rockstars. They showed us the menu of daily specials(that was printed on a calendar month, just like the cafeteria menus at school!) and we ordered some sammies, corn chowder, and salads. The sandwiches are handmade and so cheap you’ll have to see it to believe it! …and the corn chowder is so good! I went back with Emi last week and had their daily special of stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn. and if you’re lucky enough to come on a day that the cashier has made chex mix… GETIT! Best. ChexMix. EVER. You know how great things come in small packages? This place is teeeeeny tiny. But it definitely packs a punch!

They say that there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but at Webco, you’ll find a CHEAP lunch for sure! I was first introduced to Webco via my friends at the Hawaii Foodbank. We had a meeting at their offices and I oooo’d and aaaah’d over their corn chowder and BLTs. I proclaimed«This tastes like it’s made by little old ladies!»(Trust me, this is a compliment) and my Hawaii Foodbank friends replied«You would be correct!» I went home to my BF, who just happens to have a warehouse space down the street from Webco, and I exclaimed: «YOUMUSTEATTHERE!!! It’s so damn cheap!» Since that day two months ago, my BF& his business partner have become Webco regulars. Each day they’d come home with Webco leftovers and I’d shake my head in disappointment because I had not been able to make it to the actual café! Once my BF brought me back the best damn mango bread I’ve had in my ENTIRELIFE! It was so moist and you could taste the butter baked into each bite. Damn those grannies are good! Today, intern Pua P & I happened to be working in the area and we decided to visit Webco! We pulled up to the curb and I will tell you, this place is TINY. It’s a brown building that has Webco written on it and the café itself is maybe 600 square feet with a few small tables in the middle. They serve local comfort food(with my favorite so far being their corn chowder) such as hamburgers, chili, beef stew, and a variety of specials which change daily. Today I ordered up the BLT and a large portugese bean soup and Pua P got the stuffed chicken special with mashed potatoes. All of that came out to about $ 13. It’s 2012 and we’re paying 1990s prices! By no means a healthy meal, but your opu will thank for the generous deposit of simple food. If you’re in Mapunapuna and want some obachan cooking, make a stop at Webco and you too can get breakfast or lunch for a total steal!

This review is for the Webco Hawaii Cafeteria. Yes, they have a cafeteria. There are very few places to eat in Mapunapuna, and even fewer with great lunch choices. Unless you’re going to 99 Ranch(or whatever its called nowdays), you’re going to eat at a food truck. Not a gourmet food truck, either. I don’t know why there are no reviews for the Webco Cafeteria, but let me just say… if you’re in Mapunapuna and you’re looking for somewhere to pick up a hearty lunch from, this is it. They have daily specials that they post on their website and you can download the whole month(for easy planning)! Everyday choices also include a variety of salads and sandwiches. My co-worker frequents at least twice a week, and some of our favorites are: Half chicken — the size is more like a half turkey. The thing barely even fits in a take out container. Corn chowder — every Tuesday!!! Swiss steak — If our office of 10 orders 9 plates, you gotta know its good. Garlic bread — So unhealthy but so good! Side orders are less than a dollar. Pasta salad — They have this daily. Hawaiian Plate — Fridays only, your choice of poi or rice, kalua pig or laulau, hawaiian stew or long rice. Comes with both poke and lomi salmon. There are only three or so parking stalls, but I see tons of people parking on the street in front. Do not be deterred!
