The veggies of the day were out of this world. It’s not some sloppy side: it’s a full-on salad. Since it was a market special, I do t recall all of the ingredients, but it was divine. The brownie with coffee ice cream was rich-on-rich, and a bit too much to end the meal with. The pizza was alright, but super big. $ 19 plus $ 3 for pancetta seemed a bit much. $ 40 for one person was out of my price range, but it was great to know everything going into my dish. I wouldn’t go back, but it was good food. The server did not seem to enjoy serving a 5 year old and two adventurers. Perhaps it was the cross-country road trip ripeness, or the jovial nature of the kiddo, but those things are great to us; so, it affected the experience.

Pine Street is a great neighborhood bakery. Pastry items and sandwiches have been excellent. I like that they have some unusual items such as their little donut holes and the blueberry molasses cornbread. I love that stuff. They also bake up these rolls stuffed with either meat, or veggies, which are tasty! Good coffee, too, if you like Latin/South American beans — it’s Nossa Familia out of Portland. The breads are good, but not really exceptional. No complaints on the service. Definitely our go-to bakery in Hood River if we don’t feel like baking ourselves(so we don’t go there too often, as we are kind of crazy in the baking department).

Still perfect. I am never disappointed. Opened a restaurant Nextdoor called the Pine Street Kitchen. Same great attention paid to everything. The pastas and pizzas are homemade and superb. Makes a whole block of great food!!!

I arrived with two friends looking to study. The setup is not extremely conducive to studying as there are only a few tables by the wall, and not within close reach of an outlet. I would come here to have coffee with friends, but not to do work. My drip coffee and my jam scone were great. Only problem was the internet wasn’t working for us, even after they reset the router, so we moved to a different coffee shop.

Yum yum yum… this bakery should be the example of how a bakery should be and look like. It looks like it could in the French countryside. They are mindful about the ingredients, quality and presentation. The décor and design is welcoming and nicely done. I even put their bumper sticker on my bumper.

The original french bread and also the loaf of garlic bread is really fantastic. The sandwiches are also pretty good but I don’t eat them often as I’m a pretty picky eater. However, my mom frequently requests that I bring her one for lunch. The staff is very friendly. However, it gets very busy and the prices are a bit high. Still, it’s good bread.

Came here in hopes of tasting the biscuits and gravy everyone is raving about but unfortunately they are only available on the weekends and we were there on a weekday. We ordered sandwiches and they were so so so delicious! The bread is baked on site and it is very delicious. Can’t go wrong here. Their pastries looked very good as well, however we did not try any. The bakery is super cute inside as well and of course, friendly staff =)

Wonderful place to open your eyes to in the morning. Very friendly staff and vibe. Don’t be fooled by the pre-made breakfast sandwiches. They are delicious and fresh! Home made English muffins, Mmm.

Great coffee, great sandwiches, delicious breakfast sammies(on fresh baked english muffins or biscuits), and fresh squeezed lemonade with lemonade ice cubes so it doesn’t get watery. They also make loaves to take home– the sandwich bread with lots of seeds and grains is my favorite; it’s so good, it makes dave’s killer bread look bad.

This place has great ambiance and an extremely friendly staff. We loved that part of it. We ordered hand pies(think giant apple turnovers). The crust was perfectly made as far as texture goes, but it was tainted with whatever savory things they were cooking that morning, so it had an herbal flavor(what you might expect in a cheesy breakfast pastry). It also had very little apple filling in it. I ended up throwing half of mine away. Too bad. The potential is there; somebody just needs to get on top of quality control.

I so badly want to give this 4 stars(5 is reserved for the best of the best, and I rarely use it) when they are on, they are ON! Delicious food, amazing coffee, great atmosphere, and generally nice staff. BUT, when they area off, they are way OFF! One of the servers there is so rude. She barely looks up at you, she doesn’t smile, she mumbles and generally seems put off by your very existence on this earth. About ¾ of the time, our food orders are so messed up, it’s hard to understand what got lost in translation. We go there 3 times a week. Let’s say we order«red apples.» Every time we want«red apples,» but instead we get«oranges.» It’s not a simple mistake like, «oops, we gave you a green apple,» or «oops we have you a pear…» It’s pretty weird. But again, when done right, and with the right server, it’s a great place. Hopefully they can get things ironed out.

What a great place. Not only was the food and coffee great but the woman working there helped us find a trail. The cinnamon roll was amazing! They also had this apple baked good that looked like a sandwich: amazing as well!

Deciding we had had enough coast, we thought Walls Walla needed some of our money. As is our habit, the Pine Street Bakery is our stop on the I-84 . Biscuit and muffins are still the best. Great sandwiches too. Coffee is great brewed or espresso. We are always happy we stopped.

Great service, good food, fast and yummy. I didn’t love the tuna melt, but that’s just personal preference. I love their veggie panini offering, I have ordered that several times. Overall great place to go!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Baked goods have always been great. But I got a hot chocolate that was the WORST hot chocolate I’d ever had and a grilled sandwich that was slightly warm.

Da biscuits are da bomb. Truly the best I have ever had, from my own kitchen or elsewhere. What better time to share that than September which is National Biscuit Month.(Seriously. I did not make that up.) But more than biscuits make Pine Street Bakery special. And the list goes on… …LOCATION&VIBE Located in the Heights section of Hood River, this has an «all people are welcome» neighborhood vibe. Unpretentious and cozy. Unlike downtown Hood River which is definitely a tourist vibe, it seemed as if the customers here were mostly locals. …EATS Baked goodies of all kinds, the fabulous biscuits(with jam baked in or plain with butter and jam alongside), cinnamon rolls, English Muffins, cookies, tarts and breads including focaccia. Breakfast sandwiches come with meat(bacon on the day of our visit) or without and on your choice of English Muffin or biscuit. We choose English Muffin and it was a simply splendid sandwich. There is seasonal soup and salads made to order and luncheon sandwiches for that time of day. The menu works equally well for options for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores. Not to mention, great end product starts with great ingredients and much of what is used here is locally sourced from top notch providers. …BREW of the caffeinated kind is always a top priority for both my husband and me at a bakery or breafast stop(this was both for us on our recent Hood River visit) and the coffee here is excellent. It was a new roaster to us, Noosa Familia(our family in Portugese). Megan, the bakery owner, enthusiastically shared the back story for this company when we commented how great was the coffee. Not only is wonderful coffee brewed here, there is full espresso bar service too. …SMALLWORLD Turns out the young woman who owns this fantabulous bakery and my husband were acquainted as they discovered when they spied each other from the back and front of the service counter respectively. Like us she once lived in Bend and she managed a horse facility where my hubby boarded his horse. Small world. I felt one of those«six degrees…» links when I learned her mom was the founder of Grand Central Bakery in the original Seattle location in 1972. Grand Central was for me a regular respite stop ithat year. It was my introduction to artisan baking and wonderful coffee, which was in that day a blend made just for them by the then nascent Starbuck’s. I still recall standing in the line with baking parchment on the wood tray, waiting for a warm cinnamon roll to be placed on it and with steaming black coffee served in the wonderful mugs, listening to classical music drift through the high ceilinged space and for those few moments the day was perfect. I was reminded that a great bakery… …NOURISHESBODY&SOUL Time spent at Pine Street Bakery does both. Highly recommended. And you get a peek into the spirit of the of the bakery itself and the owner too when you note the following on their menu card«We would love to take your orders for holiday pies and special orders for all group sizes. A couple days notice is appreciated!». Doesn’t that language say something about the special spirit here as compared to, for example, «Special orders taken, 48 hours notice required». That kind of customer care is intuitive, I think. Lovely all around. No wonder Pine Street Bakery has become so well loved in Hood River. THIS N THAT: 1) ACCESSIBILITY: Level in and throughout. Standard height seating. Accessible loo. 2) PARKING: On street in this neighborhood is considerably easier to find than in downtown Hood River. 3) PRICES: Can’t be beat for the quality. 4) HOURS: Seven days from 7a to 3p.

Oregon is a foodie’s destination for a weekend getaway. This bakery took some Unilocaling to find but I am so glad it was discovered on the sunday before heading back to Seattle. I wanted to order everything on the display but of course, my eyes are bigger than my stomach. I shared the butternut squash soup bowl and chicken panini sandwich with my bf and a mexican mocha. So Goood! Also I was reading the frame on the wall near the bathroom and found out that the owner is also the same owner as Grand Central Bakery so I need to track that one down in Seattle :)

Sue and I took a day trip out of Portland to do some hiking. The snow put a damper on that. Rather than tuck our tails between our legs and head back home, we decided to stop in Hood River to get some food. Driving through town looking for a place to get a hamburger, we noticed this bakery. Being a great fan of all things bread and all thing related to bread Sue asked if I wanted to stop. Sure I wanted to stop. Everything looked really good here. Macarons, breads, cinnamon rolls, muffins and all good things baked. We both just wanted something quick and therefore we each got the basic focaccia($ 2.95) and ended up eating it for breakfast this morning. Pine Street has only been around since June. I can imagine this place really being packed on a summer day with the smell of bread flowing through the streets of Hood River. That is a nice visual. Will have to get back on a nice warm day to see if that is actually the case.

We love this place! Went back twice while in Hood River and that is saying something! It is relatively new I think, very nice sunny space and wonderful people running it that were very helpful. We stumbled across it while out looking for coffee. We thought we’d just pop in for hot drinks but then we were face to face with this beautiful case full of luscious baked goods.(Groan, there goes my will power!) Hubby got the ham strata and I decided to go all out and get the orange and apricot tart with the shortbread crust. They were both amazing! Back we went on day two hoping to repeat but they were closed! Monday blues. BUT! We weren’t put off that easy and were back day three to happily munch on another strata and this time we also got a breakfast sandwich, which was a wee bit dry, but still felt the love in it. It is a good thing we don’t live closer I would be wagging my tail there everyday. Keep up the good work folks and add some cheese to that breakfast sandwich.
