I haven’t had too much from here but what I had was spot on! Breakfast was great. Eggs were cooked great, bacon was thick and crisp. They had a variety of teas for me to choose from which always makes me happy. They have tons of delicious pastries to take home. They had rugelah to sample and it was amazing! A friend brought one of their chocolate cakes for my husband’s birthday. It was incredible! Can’t wait to try some of their other stuff!

Strange to see bad reviews for Edgars. Sweets are fantastic. Sandwiches are well above average. Dino g room while small is clean and the service is outstanding. There is nothing less than 4 stars that belongs in a review of this place.

I’ll give it one star because the staff was nice. But the cake? I can’t say I was blown away at all. The cheese straws tasted stale:/ Very disappointed.

When Marie Antoinette said«Let them eat cake» she must have tried Edgar’s. Eat the cake! When you are done get more. For some reason so many cake and cupcake places seem to think the more icing it has the better it is. Edgar’s has great icing but the cake itself is delicious. We have ordered several for parties and birthdays and we are never disappointed. My wife got a bunch of cupcakes for a party. Out in the parking lot she dropped the box of cupcakes. An employee saw her and went inside. This made her a little mad at first but the manager came right out and helped her pick it up then gave her a new box of cupcakes for free. They did nothing wrong and still replaced the box! Great place, people, and food.

Nice little bakery, great wraps… very fresh and the wrap i had was better than expected. Who knew putting cream cheese to hold the wrap together would be so darn good. Also from what i am told the potato chips they make in house, pretty darn tasty. Price, not too bad, if you are looking for a really good bakery/deli i would highly recommend Edgar’s. great lunch spot.

Hello, Edgars is freaking awesome! The strawberry cake is one of the best cakes I have ever had. You can get a whole cake and they have individual slices for sale too. They have many other pastry items and my mother loves the chocolate cake. Many people love love love their coffee but I dont particularly like it. If I am getting something for a special occasion I let them do their signature cakes(strawberry, caramel, or red velvet) and maybe get something written on it. I have never thought of them as a specialty bakery but a bakery that has some signature items. The signature items rule!

I love just about everything about Edgar’s! It’s delicious, prices are reasonable and the décor is what I would call sophisticated and quaint. I usually frequent the new downtown location since it’s closer to my home, but I stop by this one when I’m in the area. My favorites are the strawberry cake, the cinnamon rolls and the pound cakes. I also enjoy the chicken quesadilla from the downtown location. The cinnamon roll is the best I’ve ever ate!

When I first walked in I was taken back at how much this place had to offer. Typically a bakery is known for one thing and a few other options… this place specializes in just about everything. I have a huge weakness for a nicely made muffin. Not only are they a good size but I rate the taste, moisture, and size to be perfect. They have way more seating and ambiance than your typical coffee/bakery shop and I will definitely make this my new home to sip on coffee for a break. Wish they were open a little later but I can respect that they want a life too:)

Do not order a custom cake. If you want to stop in a grab a bakery item, that may be fine. But do not order a custom cake because it may look completely different than you ordered. I ordered a graduation cake for my little sister’s graduation party. This cake and occasion was EXTREMELY special to our little family. I went in there with a photo of an adorable two tier graduation cake and asked if it was possible for them to make that and how much would that cost. The lady told me they can’t make it because they can’t do houndstooth and that it would cost about $ 200. That was out of my price range so I asked her if they can just make a regular round cake to look like the plates from party city that my sister had picked out. They were pretty simple… the background was half chevron and half polka dots and there was a little border in the middle with Congrats GRAD written. The background on the plate is black and she said that’s not possible because it will bleed so I told her it will be fine to make the background pink to match the pink accents on the plate. The only other exception I asked was that it say Congrats BRITTNEY instead of GRAD. The lady asked me to pay for it upfront so I paid $ 100 and ordered the cake. I emailed them a photo of the plate like they asked. On the day of the party, I showed up to pick up the cake and it was NOTHINGLIKETHEPHOTO. It looked like a grocery store cake that I had picked out and had them write her name on real quick. I was crushed. There was no time to make a new cake and they admitted they had messed up and offered me $ 35 off the cake. This cake was not what I ordered at all. The colors didn’t match the photo. The design didn’t match the photo. The cake looked like something I could make it home. It was solid pink icing with some colored polka dots and cursive writing in the middle. No other details from the photo at all. No chevron at all. The font was different than the photo entirely. I don’t know how they could get it this wrong. And their $ 35 discount was insulting. This means they still thought the cake was worth $ 65. It was not what I ordered at all. They should have just apologized and gave it to me for free at that point. They had already ruined the cake which was supposed to be a big surprise for my little sister. I burst into tears and left with the cake. My boyfriend went inside and asked if they was anything more they could do and they gave him a cupcake and a $ 20 Edgar’s gift card. Are they kidding? Why would I want one of their gift cards? Why would I ever want to go back there? By the way, I have photos of this cake and the photo I submitted but I don’t see a section on Unilocal to upload a photo with my review. I would leave them a Facebook review but conveniently they don’t have that section on Facebook.

Most overrated bakery I’ve ever used. Cakes are average at best, Publix provides a better product. My last order was supposed to be a white cake with coconut frosting, got a yellow cake with coconut frosting, although the store i ordered it from ran out of the frosting(yes, bakery ran out of frosting) and made me go to separate location to pick it up. One problem, they forgot to call the other store to let them know i was coming. Customer service is as bad as their product. In search of a quality bakery in the area, so please let me know of an alternative.

Licked my fingers and my wrapper after having their red velvet square. The lady behind the counter was so patient, I went a little crazy, but it’s sooooooooo good, everyone must try it. They need to open one in Southern California! But in the meantime I’ll fly over to Alabama for some more.

We waited 35 min on a Sat at lunch to get our food. It wasn’t packed and there were always several tables open. Our table was sticky and the floor was dirty. I had soup(good but barely lukewarm) and eve’s garden sandwich(good croisant, with thin tomato, one piece of lettuce, and thin mozzarella — bland). My wife had a wrap that was good but the ranch dressing with it was very thin, more like ranch dressing water. She got fruit on the side(grapes and canteloupe) and was disappointed as one table away the small fruit cup also included blueberries. I hope this review helps the management. I tried to be as factual as possible. I won’t be coming back, even for the bakery that seems overpriced but tasty.

They dropped the best vegetarian option(portobello sandwich) so I ordered a fried green tomato with no bacon. Came with bacon so they took it back and took the bacon off. Epic fail.

OK… I went into Edgar’s with preconceived notions…(1) I don’t like chains(although there are only a few, I guess it still qualifies as a chain)…(2) it was in a strip mall by a shopping center…(3) it billed itself as a bakery(and there are so very, very, very few TRUE bakeries left. I was expecting another overly sweet, overly gimmicky, over-priced cupcake storefront. Also, I am a BAKER… I have baked for decades and have made good money doing it… I know how difficult it is to make a cake that is sweet, but not over the top; moist, but not gummy; dense, but not dry; airy, but not flavorless… it is HARD!!! If you aren’t a baker, you just won’t get how hard it truly is. That being said, when I walked into Edgar’s, it looked and smelled and felt like a bakery from years ago. A little on the gimmicky side, but in a cute way. But what strikes you when you walk in is that it really is an old-fashioned bakery! There are beautifully decorated cakes in the case, there are cupcakes, there are bars, there are cookies… all beautiful. But still, I hesitated, because I have eaten a LOT of beautiful cakes and cookies that did not live up to their looks. However, I was in a cake mood and chose two cupcakes to take back to our hotel(one for that night and one… the big test of how fresh they were… to eat the next day). The prices were amazing(it was a little over $ 5 for my two BIG cupcakes… big enough to share. They put them in a container designed for cupcakes so they didn’t smush up against each other(yay!). I chose(after a loooooooong time of walking back and forth in front of the display cases) an Italian Cream(very difficult to do well) and a Caramel. I chose to eat the Italian Cream that night. One bite and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Light and dense at the same time(I think they have elves in their kitchen with magic wands), wonderful flavor, perfect icing, and crushed nuts on top. It was Italian Cream perfection… the best I had ever eaten. So, the next night, I ate the Caramel(of course, after my weekend in Birmingham, I am dieting this week… groan!). It was an amazing cake… even held over till the next day. But the icing on the cake(pun intended) was… the icing. I was expecting a caramel-flavored icing… but it wasn’t icing at all… it was actually, thick, gooey, sticky, buttery, rich, actual CARAMEL swirled on top of the cupcake. I had never had a caramel cupcake like it. If I had died in that instant, I would have died happy. Again, it’s a good thing I don’t live in Birmingham or I would be huge… but, now that I think about it… a two-hour drive for those cupcakes would be soooooooooooo worth it!!!
