BubbaLu’s Bodacious Burgers

Burgers were good portions as were fries, onion rings and shakes. Two adults and two teenagers were full after 3 burgers, a chicken sandwich, one order of both fries and onion rings. Kids had milkshakes, we had water. Now the reason this is a 3 star review:
Burgers were all over cooked. We were never asked how we wanted them cooked. Chicken was very dry.
Milkshakes were too runny. More milk than ice cream. Chocolate was good, just very rich. Vanilla was good.
We were charged for water!
Every morsel was gone from our baskets and we paid what we expected to pay for a prime location in a tourist town, about $ 44 before tip.

I wouldn’t go back to this place if you paid me. Simply ordered 2 cups of coffee and the old lady that took my order was rude from the get go. When the 1^st cup come out she gave me 2 dollar back and said their coffee machine was broken so I could only get one cup. When I said the 1^st cup tasted funny she gave me another 2 dollars back very rudely and told me I don’t know what fresh coffee tastes like. So for no coffee and a rude time I paid 50 cents. Won’t be back!!!

Not bad but wouldn’t eat there again. Undercooked meat, French fries reported to be reminiscent of McDonald’s are close but taste like frozen fries. Unappealing décor. Staff were friendly.

I agree with the previous review about «fast food flavor» at least with the burger. The chili dog was pretty good, the bun kind of took over a bit. My little girl did get to keep her frisby «plate» though! Last time we were here they were making their shakes with Blue Bell ice cream, but not so much now Overall not too bad, it’s a really cute diner atmosphere with family pictures around and friendly peeps.

A little on the fast food flavor. Service was not the best. Really clean grilling area and restrooms. They advertised a frisbee as a plate and souvenir for the kids menu, but didn’t allow us to take it, because they were running low.

There is a lot to be said but I’ll be quick. Two burgers, fries, onion rings, one fountain drink and a shake= $ 32 plus change. Ok so after being taken aback a bit by the price, I hoped for the best. The food did not take a long time to be served, which was great. Service was great. However once we inspected our burgers we found they were not made to the specifications we asked for. It’s not about being picky, it’s about getting what you asked for. Some think «oh I can just take the pickle off or wipe the mayo off» but there is no need the food is prepared correctly in the first place. If I say no tomato, it’s a reason why. It could be allergies, anything. Needless to say, this issue put a sour taste in my mouth. The food was good, not great. The portions are skimpy for the price as well.

Amazing quality but really hard to find!
We have been there twice since we moved here but only because we can never seem to find the place! We would go there once a week if we could find it! Lol
It’s in down town so the parking is crap. We parked down by the aquarium and just walk down the road in the cold with our 19 month old daughter until we FINALLY found the place… It was so good the first time that we were determined to figure out where the heck it was again. Still delicious! But they skimped on my fries. :(
After walking from the aquarium with a toddler on our shoulders I think we should get a award for or determination to give them business… okay…our at least a full order of fries. ;)
The staff was friendly enough but didn’t seem to exited about our daughter being there.
Disappointed about the fries but will still go back again… someday… If I can find it again.
One recommendation: get a changing table please! It’s just weird to have high chairs but no changing table.
Ps. Sorry… I had to use your bench by the bathrooms to change her but I wasn’t about to walk across the street to use their changing table like the little post it note in your bathroom asked me to. it was freezing and my food was on the table … that’s just a ridiculous thing to ask your customers to do. I’m not spending my money across the street I’m spending it there.
I’m one of those germaphobic mom’s so I sanitized before and after. Left it cleaner then I found it probably. ;)

Quality ingredients. I was expecting frozen hamburger patties and bad vegetables. But to my surprise the meat was very fresh, the tomatoes were perfect. Service was excellent. I could see if they were busy it would get slow. Excellent experience overall.

Spent over $ 30 for 2 burgers with sides and drinks. Prices are WAY too high for the quality of the food and portion size of the onion rings. This place is located in a high-​traffic tourism area, which is probably how it has survived to date.
The burgers are GREASY to the point we both sat there trying to stop the hemorrhaging of grease coming from it before we ate them. They tasted like regular burgers, nothing special. The onion rings were very good, though $ 4 for 5 – 6 rings is robbery. The fountain drinks were… fountain drinks.
This place is very clean and has lots of nice black and white photos all over the walls. It was a trip back in time as far as the atmosphere goes. The service is nothing special. The lady cooking seemed a little grumpy (maybe a bad day).

Expensive? Not when you consider it’s in the middle of a downtown tourist district. Best chili cheese dog, gourmet grilled cheese and onion rings. The place is spotless, even the grill open for all to see. I asked if they were new since it was so clean, they said 10 years. Service was great. When in the middle of a fun day a great break!

Was a good burger and fast service considering we had 28 people with us I gave a 4 star because the company was kind of short with us and had a little tude but she explained why and we did have a large group come in all at once but great speed for just one cook

This place is overpriced for very mediocre food. A side of onion rings was $ 4 and there were about 6 rings. Staff was very unfriendly. It’s in a touristy area, so I’m sure that’s how it survives, but it’s not a satisfying place to eat.

Found this place from a recommendation by the nice lady at the Hot Springs Visitor’s Center. She indicated that the burgers were great, the place was spotless and well-​maintained, and that the restaurant was well-​run.
She was right on all counts!
You order at the counter, then sit where you like. Nice older diner feel in a 100 year old building right on the main street. Parallel parking on one side of the street — keep looking, you will find a space!
We had double meat cheeseburgers — thick round, but not perfectly shaped, patties — just like Dad made!!! The flavor was great, each burger was cooked-​to-​order (one medium, one well done), the cheese was very melty and delicious. The toppings were good and appropriate without hiding the main attraction :)
The burgers were served on sourdough buns that were soft and fresh — yum!
After the greatness of the burgers, the French fries were a bit disappointing — not bad, but not at the same level as the burgers.
The young man at the counter and the lady doing the cooking were both very friendly.
We took our order to go — it was well wrapped and hot and delicious a few minutes later.
We recommend this one — as a matter of fact, we are probably stopping by at lunch again today…

33.00 dollars for 4 crappy hot dogs, 2 small fries and 2 drinks.
Service was poor at best, seemed that staff was having a bad day but I wasn’t, I expect the staff to at least treat me like I am a little bit appreciated,
We sat at the counter, the gentleman was at the register, I had to get up and walk over to him to have him write down my order,
Cook did not even offer silverware to eat with and when I asked she pointed to the register and said it was down there.
Ok cut to the chase, expensive, poor service and staff had an attitude, sorry bit there are places that want and appreciate my business, this restaurant, in my opinion doesn’t have a future in a town that catered to tourist.

Best Polish I’ve ever had. I got mine «Classy Super» and it was both. Delicious. My wife and sister in law both enjoyed their Chicken Salad Melts a lot. The only thing that was just okay was the standard cheese burger and the onion rings. Both were good, but neither was outstanding. The Super Classy Polish Dog Cannot be ignored when you go to this place. Even if you get one to split between everyone in your group… Delicious!

Two hot dogs, lacking flavor, two drinks one fry $ 16? It was a regular hot dog on a huge hogie roll. Sourkraut had no flavor.

Great place! Wonderful atmosphere! The white chili was delicious! And such a lovely lady cooking! Delicious oatmeal cookies!

After a day of thrift shopping and flea market combing with an old friend, we sought afternoon refreshment. We were confused that despite sit-​down tables, customers order at the counter.
We ending up sitting at the counter but made the mistake of sitting near the register which is where everyone comes to order. We were crowded, but were too lazy to move over.
We enjoyed the french fries which were served in a fancy spiral dish. We also had beers, but the person who took our order closed our ticket immediately. If they knew us, they would have left it open and we would have had more beers (and more $$ for them.)
Part of why we spent so much time at this establishment was because the woman (small, older with a dusty brown bob haircut) working the grill, was so mean and nasty to the young man working the register and helping the customers. She continually spoke down to him right in front of everyone. He kept his cool but we felt sorry for him. Hopefully this is his rite-​of-​passage summer job that he can look back on.

Pretty good burger. Hand pattied, large and fresh. Fries were good. Everything was fresh to order and I overhead a few complements for the sausage and sauerkraut. Staff was OK but the atmosphere is bad. I would say that if you are in the area and want a burger it would not be an awfull choice.

We visited around the opening of this restaurant. There were 4 in our party. We got 4 sodas, 4 burgers and 2 fries to share. The total was around $ 40. It took about 15 minutes for us to get our food. Two of the burgers were so undercooked that they refused to eat them. Personally I don’t remember it being terrible. A little pricey for what you could easily get on any corner in town.
One member of my party was much more unsatisfied and went on to tell BubbaLu (if that’s his real name) that his burgers were in fact NOT bodacious.
