I must say I am a sucker for those date stuffed cookies. Anything stuffed is always good! I have been searching for this cookie for awhile, I am Mexican and well we just cant find these in Mexican panaderias. All my Arab friends taunt me with these elusive treats that I just decided it was high time for me to get my own supplier. My supplier of sweets came with the most appropriate name, A Sweet Factory. This area seems sketchy but hey I was already there I was not going to turn back without any sweets. The place is filled with lots of middle eastern treats that they sell by the lb or individually. They are very pricey but hey what can you do. I ended up ordering the date cookies and about 3 variations of baklava all equally delicious. I must say they do not quite stack up to Droubis pastries but they are good and have their own distinct flavor. I would definitely not mind eating these again!

I usually come here to have deserts and Turkish coffee. They never smile or give a sample or complementary tastes. The price is a little bit high compared to the other.

This is a haven for pistachio-everything, baklava, flaky phylo, butter, sugar, honey and pastry galore. I love when a dessert tastes soo good that it feels almost good for you, too. How deceiving. It’s good for your soul, at least — well, in moderation… There is no dessert that I wouldnt recommend here. The staff working the day I went was also very accommodating, promptly giving us silverware to dig into our goodies on the spot and spoiling us by adding double the amount of pistachio on everything that we bought. Sweet people to sweeten the deal.

They call themselves«A Sweet Factory» when it should be «A Shitty Factory»!! If I could give them a negative one star I would, but that option is not available. I bought one pound of Awami sweets, and they were not fresh like he said, which makes him a liar, and he overcharged me. And for someone who is doing this to customers during Ramadan, shame on him. I will never go back.ever.

One of Houston’s hidden treasures for you sweet toothed ladies & gents. One must ignore the filthy shopping strip, the pothole filled parking lot, and the not so great location of this bakery if wanting to come here. Upon entering the bakery you are hypnotized by the abundance of their magnificent sweets and delicate aromas of Rose water, pistachio, and cardamom. Don’t come here hungry! I repeat, DONOTCOMEHEREHUNGRY! Unless you are looking to be in a sugar coma, then come here after a light meal. Their deserts are rich, creamy, nutty, some of them contain cheese!(Similar to mozzarella but much milder and has a sweet taste to it) ask for the syrup that accompanies most of their desert on the side and you can drizzle it stop your kunafee how you see fit. They have a cookie in here that’s addictive and got trouble written all over it and should be illegal by the name of «Petite Four». Do order their Turkish coffee because«When in Rome…» I doubt the people of Arabia ate these rich deserts with a wimpy cup of Folgers.

I was really wanting to like this place, but I was sorely disappointed. Kunafa is below average. It wasn’t even warmed up enough to taste fresh. The guy at the front seemed as if he would die if he cracked a smile. Good grief! Why would someone hire an employee to represent the face of one’s business, if he can’t even fake being pleasant? The reason for the two stars is because the bread sandwich that came with the kunafa was above average. Won’t be coming back.

The pita pizza’s were amazing. The desserts were super fresh as well. The only thing that needs improvement is the service here. The employees didn’t seem too excited about their job. All in all the food was great. Will definitely go back.

Hands down best Mediterranean sweets in this part of the south unless coming from momma’s oven. It’s really better than any American breakfast. So it’s a bakery but has plenty of seating and clean space. They have breakfasty type pizza called mana’eesh. So what is mana’eesh? Think of it as a flat bread pastry with whatever fixings they have from cheese, Zaatar, Halloum, etc… Personal favorites is the thyme/Zaatar and Halloum cheese pastry. Then the sweets. Well it is called a sweet factory and they deserve the title for best Arab sweets. They have drinks also like Arabic coffee and regular coffees, lattes, and mochas. Let’s not forget tea and a cooler full of sodas and other sugary concoctions. It’s a nice place overall and I tend to bring out of towners here for desserts. I always leave with sweets to go… To share of course! Oz

The prices were high. The taste is average. The only really good desert that I liked here is the pistachio filled mamoul. The Kenafeh was average to low. I have tasted five star Middle Eastern pastries, and this place produces no 5 star product. When they greet the customer, they need to have a customer friendly and positive attitude with a smile. I felt like I am not welcomed, and that is terrible for a business, and it was my 1st time at their store. The place was empty when I got their. Then another customer came while I was paying. A successful business treats and welcomes every customer like if it is their first time at your store. To fill their store, and have more customers, they need to improve a lot to get better ratings.

Ordered 2 platters of Knafa(Na’ama & Khishna), i hated the fast the crust had that fake color of orange which means its not naturally made. The cheese was ok. But will never order fake knafa from here again. Prices r a bit high, it was 8 small sizes if knafa for $ 37!!! For me thats high for its quality.

If you look at my previous reviews, you will know that I tend to review a lot of middle eastern restaurants and bakeries and this is not an exception! This place is really great because the sweets are really tasty and the closest to authentic you are going to get in Houston! The people who work here are really nice and it has the nice inviting Lebanese environment. It’s really clean and you can’t go wrong with their kanafah~ It’s great that they have patience and even though I don’t see many non middle eastern people here, I hope that will change because this place is great!

The mamoul at Sweet Factory is outstanding! What’s the secret ingredient? Possibly unicorn tears. I bought a box of small mamoul(some filled with dates, others filled with nuts), and also two large mamoul cookies filled with dates. My friend and I only intended to *sample* the small cookies, but ended up finishing it in minutes. I told my husband that one of the large cookies were for him. But later on, when he was asleep and still hadn’t eaten his, I ate them both. Now I need to go back and get more before he notices. I mean, what kind of jerk does that? …me, that’s who.

I was hoping this was similar to Greek bakeries, but I was wrong. Since I’m not Middle Eastern, I didn’t really enjoy the taste of the cakes. The baklava was okay though.

I only had the walnut baklava because I was full. All of their desserts are middle eastern/ethnic except for the gelato. I’m sure they could recommend stuff to you and explain stuff, but I just went for the walnut baklava. It was sweet, but not overly so, and nutty. The best I’ve had in a while. They also have pistachio and cashew flavor. The girl who did my order was really sweet. Their store is kinda dirty? Tables needed to be cleaned and straightened. They sell food here too it looks like. The atmosphere is pretty stale/boring.

I usually like to come here to eat the maneesh cuz I love maneesh. The sojouk has too much meat and the meat doesn’t taste all that great. I prefer the cheese and zataar. I personally know the baker so the sweets are so good. The cakes are awesome so its a good to buy one for a birthday cake.

Here‘s a sweet spot to satisfy your sweet tooth! Whats more is that its not your usual desserts. A Sweet Factory offers a variety of Mediterranean style pastries. If you are looking for a change from the typical brownies or cake, then I suggest giving this place a try. I LOVE the Kanafeh! It‘s basically a sweet cheese pastry, loaded with a mix of mozzarella and akawi cheese. Ask for the dessert to be warmed, so then when you eat it bite for bite, the cheese just oozes in your mouth! Make sure to top it off with attar(sweet syrup). You can‘t miss this dessert, its BRIGHT orange! Just calling your name to be eaten up. I have also enjoyed the other selection of desserts this place has to offer. I usually ask for a mixed box, so then I can take it home and relish on all the different varieties. The mixed box also comes in handy when you simply cannot decide on what dessert to order. Arabian sweets are fragrant, sweet, and satisfying. The desserts smell of fresh orange blossoms and rose. It‘s a beautiful change of smell and taste than the usual vanilla and chocolate. The place is located in a simple and worn out plaza. The inside decoration of the pastry shoppe is not all that great either. Ah well, it‘s not so bad once you realize how much this place has to offer. They are always churning up batches of fresh treats.

Surprisingly one of the best Middle Eastern pastry shops. This place has been in business for at least 25 years. The knafi here with adawe cheese is delicious.(Not sure if I spelled the name of the cheese right). Middle Easterns in this city flock to this place to buy these pastries and sweets even from afar. The place, however, is unpretentious and pretty bare looking. Nevertheless, it is a good place for a quick bite for your sweet tooth. But beware, the strip mall this place is in is kind of hard to find(especially considering that most stores and shops in this area are Middle Eastern). And it isn’t a pleasant looking strip mall at that. They even have out-of-state delivery. Fax# 7137802042
