Antidote is one of my favorite spots in Houston. I’m lucky enough to work a few blocks away so I typically stop in every other day for a caffeine fix I’ve never had a bad cup of coffee here.

Excellent coffee. We are big coffee drinkers, this place is always on my list of places to stop. Delicious.

I’ve been coming here since 2009. Always the best service and best coffee, beer and wine selection. The owners are amazing as I have also conducted a small charity event here once before. I recommend this place to all my friend!!!

Nice little coffee shop, however parking is bad and there aren’t enough seats. Music is nice, very relaxing place.

A neck above Starbucks, but a neck below some of their other Houston inner-loop competitors. The coffee quality is okay with both their hot and cold coffees here. Overall, nothing to hit home about, but a better alternative to Starbucks for a quick meetup or date. The atmosphere is what you come to expect from a local coffee shop: strong hipster vibes, students with laptops, and strong aromas of coffee whizzing through the air. It’s almost too quiet in here – I do agree with one reviewer below, in that the eavesdrop rate has got to be close to 100% on weekend evenings. There isn’t a lot of seating, but I do believe they have a patio outdoors in case it becomes overcrowded. If you need to get work done in peace & quiet and enjoy a fresh brew, this is your spot. If you have an overly-refined coffee pallet, or if you’re trying to have a deep and/or intimate conversation, you may want to search elsewhere.

Great coffee. Lots of seating options. Has a rack out front to lock up your bike. Free wifi. Here are some results I ran when connected to the wifi:

Cute, casual atmosphere. Not a big coffee drinker so I’m not the best person to review the place but they have a coffee happy hour, lots of desserts and plenty for non-coffee drinkers :) I had their hot chocolate which was delicious and their staff was very friendly and helpful!

The coffee is great, real coffee. Don’t expect to find your run of the mill Starbucks type drinks here. I love that you an pick up Caphin or Ice cream from Fat Cat as well. The service is decent, nothing to write home about, but I haven’t had a terrible experience either. Oh, and it’s dog friendly!

Cute little coffee shop next to a cool beer place, I liked my drink but wasn’t blown away. First of all– parking is kind of troublesome during crowded times. There also isn’t a ton of seating, although my date and I found a seat pretty quickly. It is a bit cramped, and I felt like the people around us we’re hearing more of our conversation than they would have liked to. Also some cool food trucks showed up outside, an interesting perk. Espresso was good, cinnamon roll was awesome! I would come back here to pick up a cinnamon roll if I could find a place to park!

Being new to the neighborhood, I started my hunt for my favorite new java spot. Done and Done! The Barista remembered me on my second visit and basically we are now BFFs(I kid, I kid). Always playing great music, nice comfy chairs, and a dog friendly patio for the weirdos like myself that like to tote their pups everywhere!

I hate to downgrade this place to 4 star solely because the WiFi speeds have been terrible for last few months. I have always loved this place to get a lot of work done, but slow internet speeds is the last thing you want in the 21st century! For everything else refer to my previous review…

Love this cute small coffee shop! Good luck finding a place to study inside as space is limited. You have a better chance finding somewhere to sit outside. Overall, it’s a nice little coffee shop with plenty of delicious options. Also, you won’t find parking on the actual lot. You have a better chance to find street parking.

It’s a bit dark at night to read but the ambiance is very nice and cozy and they have a food truck stop by every few days so if you’re in the mood for anything else besides the great latte’s then this works out great! There a lot of seating on the side of the building and up front with umbrellas but not the best for studying on. Good for hanging out a la café style though. Only 4 parking spots so always a problem there. The AC can barely keep up if it’s stupid hot outside. And the tables inside are smallish for real work. Unless if you can snag the 3 large and low coffee tables and their accompanying sofas!

Great coffee and the staff is friendly! There’s not much parking so be prepared to park on the street. They have nice covered(awning) seating outside. I had the vanilla iced almond milk latte and it was perfect! Will definitely be back!

This place is tough to review because I’m torn between a 2 and a 3 stars. I have nothing against it per se, but it’s more of the fact that it really didn’t stand out to me, and isn’t very memorable. Favorite thing: They have a wide selection of teas! Which is awesome because most places won’t have more than 2 or 3 kinds, and most of them, you can find in your local grocery store, but this place has a pretty varied selection! They also sell beer and wine, as well as kombucha, which is like a natural energy drink(so I was told). Not so favorite thing: Small spaces. From the lack of parking to the lack of spaces to sit, it felt a bit cramped and not as welcoming. The place was also really hot and kind of stuffy. There weren’t many parking spaces available and so we had to park along the street and walk to the coffee shop. It’s right next to a really nice neighborhood, so they’ve got that going for them, but still, it’s not always fun to have to walk a couple of blocks to where you want to go. Price: I guess they’re decently priced. It was in the afternoon and we got a beer and a kombucha, both for around $ 10 total. It’s pretty typical pricing anywhere you go. Atmosphere: This is definitely a very hipster place, which if that’s who you are, then you’ll love it. They have free wifi, so you sit there and listen to the entertaining,(and quite funny, if I’m honest) music, and work on whatever you’ve got going on. For me, however, the music was a bit louder than expected, so it was harder to tune out as I was studying, but it definitely was entertaining to listen to. Service: The service overall isn’t bad, but the guy at the counter didn’t seem as friendly as I’m normally used to. I felt rushed and obligated to buy something right then and there before I could find a place to sit down and get settled. Maybe it’s a small store, and he didn’t really have anywhere else to look, or maybe it’s just me being self conscious, or possibly just an off day, but wish the service was a bit friendlier. Overall, nothing terrible about this place, but nothing outstanding or memorable about it either. Worth a try, maybe not again.

Pretty cool coffee shop in the heights area. The staff was awesome and very funny. Did not have the experience of some of the negative reviews I read. I tried the iced dirty chai tea latte and it was pretty good I must say. The inside is a bit small but they have plenty of seating outside. Only issue i have is that the seats outside are a bit uncomfortable if you plan on staying for an extended period of time. Other than that I really love the place!

Cute Heights coffeeshop with eclectic furniture, tons of indoor and outdoor seating, vegetarian and vegan(Sinfull Bakery) food options, and great coffee(especially their cortado)! I’m pretty sure they have wine and beer, too, but we were there at 8 am! Great place to study or hang out with friends!

The espresso is pretty good here. Yes it’s a little pretentious hipster, but the vibe and music is nice. You see a lot of people working and their RBFs show it. WIFI and the cellular service inside is spotty, so don’t rely on it for a deadline.

A friend recommended this place for coffee. The name really matches the atmosphere, if you like the grungy, industrial scene, then this place is for you! There’s not much of a parking lot so you might have to park on the street, though the walk is not too far. They have both patio and indoor seating. Being a coffee shop, they also have free wifi. The atmosphere isn’t too loud so you could come here to get work done as well. I think they’re open until midnight too on most days. I was recommended to try the Cajeta latte, which is a caramel latte but apparently the caramel is made from goats milk instead cows milk. Instead I ordered an iced mocha, which tastes very different from other mochas I’ve had, but the taste is quite pleasant after you get used to it. My boyfriend even liked it a lot and he usually doesn’t like mochas because of the overbearing chocolate tastes. He ordered a chai which he really liked a lot. Pros: — Open late — Calm atmosphere — Cool décor Cons: — Not really enjoying the bathroom, it’s too industrial for me!

I came here on a Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend on a recommendation from a friend. When we first arrived, we could not find any parking. There is a private lot for this strip mall, but it’s quite small and only a few dedicated spots for Antidote. Your best bet would be to find street parking nearby and walk on over. When we finally got there, we noticed large umbrellas outdoor covering the outside seating area which is nice for getting the sun out of your face. Inside, it was very busy, and it looked like a comfortable place with a brick interior and couches. However, it wasn’t very big, so I wouldn’t recommend bringing a large group here. My friend did recommend to order the Cajeta Latte(caramel-flavored coffee), but I chose to try the Chai Tea Latte instead. My drink was extra hot, which I loved, and it had a great taste to it. My girlfriend ordered an iced mocha, which also was satisfying, although it didn’t taste like a typical mocha you’d find at other coffee shops. It was good, but just caught me off guard. Overall, I really liked this place, and I would definitely come back(next time to try the Cajeta Latte). What to order: –Chai Tea Latte Pros: –Closes late(midnight everyday of the week) –Free Wi-Fi –Outdoor seating Cons: –No places to really park, quite busy

I really have tried liking Antidote, particularly since it’s in my neighborhood. Every time I go, though, I just end up feeling underwhelmed. I’ve ordered multiple lattes from here, and I can’t say that I’m impressed. I will stipulate that I tend to order non-coffee/espresso drinks because those tend to be more«unique,» but I’m thinking I should stick with coffee… The baristas at Antidote are wonderful, though, and if you’re a regular, they’ll definitely remember who you are — they easily deserve 5 stars for friendliness. There’s also outdoor seating for those rare nice days in Houston, and there’s plenty of nearby street parking(the private lot is awful). Antidote is a good spot to get some work done, but definitely stick with the coffee here!

For some reason Antidote just doesn’t do much for me. Something about the small, crowded space and apathetic baristas just kind of bores me. The coffee is good, but… there are too many other coffee shops in Houston for Antidote to really stand out to me. And yeah, the clientele always seem a little(or a lot) pretentious. I don’t really have anything to say about Antidote that hasn’t already been said. I know they’re affiliated and somewhat similar, but I much prefer Black Hole.
