They have really great bartenders and the drink specials are awesome! Happy Hour meals are pretty delicious especially the pizza! Its a great spot for a date or just to hang out. Im definately a repeat customer.

I visited this place on a Sunday to watch a game, and a Saturday night to hang out. It’s not a classy place, but it’s not the bottom of the barrel either. It’s a place to go if you want to let your hair down and be free with out judgment. It could be considered to be hood, in comparison to more established sports bars like a Dave and Buster’ s. The atmosphere is cool, and the D.J. played a nice selection to dance too. There are seperate rooms, so you can choose what room you want to watch the game in. It’s a nice chill spot, with decent priced food and drinks. It’s a neighborhood bar, where you see what you get. Check it out for fun, and fun only.

Not good at all. Went here to meet a date and I was received with a very frosty reception. The place barely had patrons and it was still difficult to get service. The employees seemed to only tolerate our business. I waited 30 minutes for a soda. Maybe you have to be a certain color to enjoy your experience at this bar. After all, this is the south…

I’ve celebrated two of my most memorable birthday at this spot. It’s a great place to feel welcome, sing to your hearts content with a supportive audience on karaōke night, or just sip on whiskey and not be bothered. Bartenders are great here too.

Looked this up last minute when my friend and I needed a place to watch the A&M game. I had a burger that was actually really good, fries were great too. Drinks were cheap and strong. Only bad part is the icehouse portion is not completely closed off. Being non-smokers, we did not like the smoke permeating through.

This update is for the food only. Damned good kitchen with the best sausage I’ve had outside Chappel Hill, it might have been Chappel Hill? This is the perfect BBDD food, greasy, spicy like a Texas cheese steak. Can I have more? Now that 8 brothers that took over the kitchen has gotten this part of the bar together, I am looking forward to sampling more of the menu. Unfortunately this is still a Dive, so get the food to go…

See the neon green sign on Wilcrest? Yep! That’s Big John’s place! Karaōke Friday and Saturday night, so if you want to sing your heart out, come! I don’t sing nor do I stay the entire time here but I stop by once in awhile to hang out with some friends. There’s sports and fighting match on the TVs and you can play pool here. Who doesn’t like to shoot pool? Parking on Friday and Saturday night are hassle to deal with because there are so many businesses in the center open hours the same time as Big John’s place. Also, you might be harass to pay $ 3.00 just for parking! And that’s for any space locating on that parking lot.

Cool place to watch a sporting event and drink cold beer. Big John’s has several televisions which broadcasts MLB, NBA, NFL, EPL and any other sport in the world. Number of pool tables and karaōke night on Fridays. The best nights are Tuesday and Friday.

This is the definition of neighborhood sports bar. The bartenders are great and drinks are cheap. They show love to the regulars too. There is always a sporting event on even if it is a foreign game such as Soccer, Cricket and Rugby.

Well, it’s a long long way to drive out to just for wing night, but my company can’t be beat. There’s a lot of room to park and the nights I have been here it’s pretty quiet not too empty not too crowded. I can’t make up my mind if I like it or not. I dont’ think it could be a regular hangout it’s got no real air of mystery or anything, except whether or not I can make it back home after such a long distance and a few beers. It’s a sport’s bar, pool tables, I think,. The seating is not that comfortable. The waitresses are a bit nice and sad, my friend kind of adopted one and was half way to making her a close friend by the end of a few sessions there. I don’t know, I think my friends moved on to the Dam Ice House, I haven’t been there yet though.

In agreement with Tony Hassell-hoff here, a three star joint and you get what you ask for in here. So many TV screens you kinda get lost and forget which game you were looking to focus on in the first place! Came here to watch the Liverpool(scum) versus Real Madrid(Spanish scum) «football» match for the European Champions League. That’s exactly what we got. I am in desperate need of my UK «football» fix whilst out here in Houston and reckon old Big Johns is as good a place as any to go. There are all the usual amenities for a place like this as you’d expect, pool tables, darts boards, quiz machines, and an ex-playboy model barmaid wearing a cowboy hat(ha, don’t ask)!! Food was a bit of a worry, Tony has assured me through the day this place is ok and does a mean breakfast however when we went there we noticed their was only really burgers on the menu. When we asked why this was we were told it was because it is the only thing the«chef» can confidently cook! Alarm bells! Ended up having chips, jalapeño poppers, and mozzarella sticks. Basically only stuff that go in the fryer, surely they can’t balls that up?!! A good place all round, not exactly outstanding enough to warrant 4 stars but like I say if you want to watch pretty much ANY sport or game then go hear but if you want food and drink then I would recommend elsewhere.

Did you get blutered at the weekend? destroyed yourself with alcohol then? Come get the Red Cross revival package. A good, hearty, plateful of an Irish Breakfast that would have a dead elephant back on its feet in no time. This is where you will find me on any given Sunday(or even any given Saturday) morning, trying to get my heart beating again. One of the best Irish breakfast’s in town and consists of ; Toast Fried Eggs Baked Beans Bacon(UK kind) Sausage Tomatoes Chips(French Fries to you Mercans) and YEEEEEEEHBLACKPUDDING if you are lucky they sometimes also have White Pudding Although I love Breakfast at the Bull & Bear this is the only place i know that has Black Pudding and so it gets my vote every time. Big John’s also has 55 or so televisions that provide some of the biggest sporting events such as: Pay Per View, Boxing, Football, Basketball, Soccer and International Rugby. Over half of the TVs are high definition. There is also a variety of games, pool tables, and darts and not a bad choice of beers. Not the tidiest of joints but that’s what gives it its atmosphere. Watched the Joe Calzaghe fight here on Saturday and the atmosphere was electric. Well done Joe Boyo, you are now truly a LEGEND !! Stunning display. Also great for English Premier League sokka as they have all the games available live on at the same time so you can sit at the bar and only have to move your head slightly to switch between games. For you Scottish football fans, this is a RANGERS bar where all the supporters get together to watch them play. Celtic fans, that was your big clue…
