I always get the chicken fried rice medium never had a issue, and the owner wears those tight shorts WOW he has a great butt keeps me coming back

The prices are Good and the Food is decent. Depending on when You visit the fry grease maybe Clean or it maybe Dirty. If the fry grease is Dirty Your food will be really dark. Some visits You may get meaty fish & some visits You may get boney fish with hardly No Meat. Consistency is an issue for this place. Don’t pay much attention to the people surrounding the area, they may look weird but I think some may be homeless but pretty harmless so they really don’t bother anyone.

Never again. Food looks great large portions biggest jumbo shrimp ever… was great going down but a few hours later not such a great experience. You only have to fool me once as I stated never again.

I just moved into the area and have been scouting all the local, non-​chain fast food joints. So glad I tried this place… their jumbo fried shrimp plate is heavenly. Especially for under $ 10 — you’d pay at least double in a restaurant for the same size/​quality shrimp. The seasoning is amazing. Will be back here to satisfy future fried shrimp cravings.

I used to live two blocks from here when I worked in Houston one summer. Everyone I met there was like why’d you move to the hood? The simple answer is there are a lot of empty houses you can live in for free. The other answer is there are Gems like this place in the Hood!
They serve everything to go, even though there are a few table top Pac-​man games some people use a tables to eat on. At first I got their Cheese Burger and fries with soda for five dollars but being that this was one of the few restaurants (using that term loosely) within walking distance I came here often like three to four times a week so I ventured into more of the menu, best deal I found was the half pound of popcorn shrimp with fried rice and bread for four dollars, it was enough to eat on for two days The wings here are very good as well you can get them with fried rice or with a roll. The wings are a little spicy but I like spicy fried chicken, so it worked out great for me.
They have fresh catfish on ice if you want to make your own at home. They have all sorts of can and bottle drinks. This is a neighborhood spot for sure, it was always nice to sit and wait for my food, while listening to the other people talk to each other, it seemed like I was living in a tight-​knit community everyone seemed to know one another. And they would even include me an obvious outsider in their conversations, it was very welcoming.
I think places like this are amazing and I’m happy to have found it. It was a very positive experience! If your by Texas Southern and you get hungry you should go get some wings or popcorn shrimp, even a burger and support this local staple in the community!

A good place to get some food at a low price. The wings are better here then frenchy’s and their gumbo is phenomenal. The fried shrimp here is one of the best fried shrimp I have ever had. They use bread crumbs instead of cornmeal, like the others, and is seasoned nicely.

They do orders to-​go. I ordered the 2 piece fried catfish plate. It comes with fries and a small serving of lettuce (nothing fancy — the cheap iceberg lettuce kind) with some French dressing. The catfish were big portions and tasty as well. This place seems popular with the locals. They also have fried chicken, fried rice, and hamburgers available.
