I thought I would give Cahill’s another try, what a mistake! That awful nasty bartender Carrie is still there. The burgers used to be great, now the suck along with the staff. I wish someone would turn that place around. FYI if you don’t want flem in your drinks I would go someplace else.

This place is awful! The bartenders are very rude with nasty attitudes. When we gave them a 15% tip for drinks we ordered at the bar they told us it was 20% tips or do not bother coming back. Do not worry we will never step foot in Cahill’s again

I must admit that I don’t think I’ll jump at the chance to go back here. Mostly I was just underwhelmed. The ambience was a little dingy, the beer selection a little boring, and the waitress had some issues carrying things. At one point the electricity went out and I walked into the bathroom door as a result(luckily it didn’t bruise, since that«I walked into a door» excuse always seems a little flimsy). We didn’t try the food.

Italian beef is awesome. The bartenders were terrible.

This place is mainly a neighborhood pub but still great. Food is above the usual bar food. Beer is ice cold. All it takes is one time there and the next time they will know your name and what you are drinking. Ask for Carrie and Nadia !!! The homemade chips are the best.

The BLT and onion rings are deeelish! A few of the bartenders could use some personality though. They is the reason I have been three times and don’t really plan on returning. Ashame too since they have a great little patio. Who knows… I may try ONE more time.

After losing my voice in Reliant watching the Baylor Bears blow a halftime lead to give those heckling Duke fans something to be happy about, my friends and I were looking for something low-key on Washington. Low-key you ask? On Washington? Somewhere you can grab a drink, maybe some food, have a great time and not once feel like you walked into an Affliction advertisement? Enter Cahill’s. This is your traditional neighborhood bar. Its a house-turned-bar with a small patio and wide open set up. Tables line the walls and theres another outdoor section that you can access from inside the bar. I think about a Chicago sports bar when I walk in here. Dark hardwood, lonely pool table in the corner, a few tvs with ESPN on. Now I don’t know whether our good time can be attributed to drinking our disappointment away, but I think Cahill’s is great. It was an unusually amazing evening in Houston, high 60s and slightly breezy, we were exhausted from a long day of basketball, but having a few drinks on the patio at Cahill’s hit the spot. Did not eat anything on this trip, so I’ll have to update the review again at some point in the near future.

This is a pretty standard burger and beer place. My friend recommended the jalapeño burger. I was not disappointed. Fresh jalapenos, garlic, cheese(i left off the onions and tomatoes). It was a little greasy but delicious. I had a side of onion rings, they only give you 4 but they are pretty size-able rings. I would definitely go back again.

Totally a bar for regulars, I’ve been there a few times, decent crowd each time. Sometimes the service is slow, I do like the atmosphere better than some of the newer trendy bars right now the street on Washington. A great bar if you’re looking for a laid back night. Best thing about it, it has its own parking lot so you don’t have to pay to valet or self park, it’s free and always an open spot!

Today’s flight from the Bay Area arrived into Hobby in the early afternoon to a relatively cool and cloudy day in the Bayou City. Upon picking up the rental car, I was pleased to find out that the Texans Vs. Colts game was still playing and that area traffic would be manageable. I also decided to diverge from my usual visitor’s foray to the Galleria/Meyerland area and see what was happening in the Heights. For some reason, Cahill’s on Durham had been bookmarked and that was as good a reason as any to head over that way. Cahill’s on Durham is comfortable, friendly and almost empty when I arrived. It had good woods, a nice neighbourhood feel and I felt right at home as I took a seat on the porch. Service was prompt and the St. Arnold Amber on tap was cold and tasty. However, the burger was a 2 Star experience. I ordered it medium and it came back rare and with an odd aftertaste that I attributed to the bacon and ranch dressing combination. I also left with one of those feelings that there might be some digestive«trouble» later. Thankfully I was wrong, but as I drove up and down Washington a bit afterwards, I couldn’t help but wonder what other dining choices were available if only I knew the neighbourhood a little better.

This is a great«old school» neighborhood bar in an area with a new trendy concept bar or restaurant opening every weekend. Located in an old Victorian home on Durham, just south of Wash. Ave, Cahill’s is a laid back joint. An «around the corner» feeling after work, it gets a little more busy as the night goes on. During good weather, there’s a nice side porch with lots of outdoor tables. During the summer, the inside bar area is cool and dark… perfect! For me, the drinks are a little too expensive for the environment. I didn’t look for specials, but I will next time. Our table was around $ 70 for 4 liquor drinks and 4 draft beers. I’ve never eaten there, but it looks like standard Pub/Bar food. There were lots of Chicago Bears flags up, so I’m guessing this might be home base for Bears fans in the Wash Ave. area. I hope Cahill’s makes it with all the competition springing up!

I have only been here once, but I had a good time sitting out in the back patio area. There is a relaxed atmosphere and it seemed like the crowd that hangs out here is a little older, which is good, since I am too. I like hearing that it is dog friendly, I’ll have to tell my friend who likes bringing her dog with her to hang out! I don’t know about the food, chances are if I was hungry though i would go somewhere else.

Meh… Average burger for a standard price with mediocre(at best) service. If you want a good burger, I can think of 10 other places in Houston that are better. The food just seemed like it was defrosted and thrown on a grill. Our water was cold and rushed. If you want a good hang out place around that area, I’d rather go to Onion Creek.

Went here today for lunch. You walk in and if felt like a pub; hard wood floors, beer signs all over, and just your typical bar decorations. If I go to an American restaurant and don’t know what I should get, my go to is a club sandwich. So, I ordered that and it was pretty awesome. There was mustard on it which was a surprise to me. Can’t think of a time where I’ve ordered a club with mustard before. The bread was toasted enough to still be a little soft. The deli meat was nice and tender. The bacon wasn’t over powering. All in all, it was almost perfect. The waitress was very attentive and on top of things. We were pretty much the only people here in the restaurant and it’s not like we could have been ignored or neglected. We took an early lunch because it’s a little slow at the office today. My only complaint was that the fries were soggy as hell. I like the crunchy ones and this was lacking here. I was told to order the homemade chips, but I went against the suggestions. Next time, I’m ordering the chips.

I stopped in at lunchtime. The place was quiet and they had a lunch special(BBQ ribs, onion rings, salad). The meat wasn’t flavorful although it was drowning in sauce. The onion rings seemed to be of the frozen variety. This place has a unique feel to it. I’d like to return at some point to see what the scene is like at night. I think I’ll stick to the burger and drinks though.

Good burger. Friendly service. My favorite thing about this place is how dog-friendly it is. Last time I brought my golden, the bartender brought out a waterbowl to the patio for her within five minutes. The crowd is mostly regulars and this isn’t the place to go and mingle with new people. Bring your own group and order a burger.

I’ve always seen this place, but always forget that it’s there. I was on a burger hunt on a Sunday afternoon, and was sad to find out that Christian’s Totem was closed. Cahill’s came to mind and a pleasant surprise was in store for me. My guest and I split a Hammerburger and a Ranch Burger and were surprised at how tasty they both were. The Ranch Burger was more flavorful. The patty was lacking, but I liked the way the burger was put together. They also have homemade fries. I’m not fanatical about fries, but these are very standout fries. The place was pretty empty at this part of the afternoon. The service was very friendly. Check it out if you get a chance.

Quaint old house-turned local bar. If I lived in the area, I might stop by more often. But I don’t. So I won’t. It’s not that anything in particular was necessarily bad. It was just little things. The bartendar used a shot glass to measure out the alcohol when making my drink. Now, anybody who’s made drinks or even drank for a while knows that just asinine. We had to call her over for a second round of drinks, even though the place wasn’t busy and our glasses were obviously half-empty. That’s enough to lose a couple stars in my book!

I live very close to this place, but it never appears on my radar of places to go out. Cahill’s has been around for a while. I do remember over 10 years ago, after I first«found it», it was a cool house bar(literally someone’s house) that was perfect for my easily pleased twentysomething self. The place was perfect for our softball crowd when Bubba’s or other dives weren’t on the agenda. Cahill’s has a big wooden bar, ample seating, sports on TV, but it just misses out on something. I do find myself there 1−2x per year, but it’s always nearly empty. Over time, Cahill’s has lost its luster. It is still clean, somewhat large(for the area), serves food, but it really doesn’t have much to offer. This place likely survives on its regulars: unseen regulars. Regulars, start yepling me wrong! The best thing about Cahill’s is that it isn’t pretentious. However, not all businesses are super-swanky on the Washington Corridor. That coolness isn’t as unique as it once was. Being near other popular bars and restaurants like Jax’s, Cyclone Anaya’s, Spaghetti Western, Max’s WIne Bar, Mardi Gras, Cadillac Bar, etc… Cahill’s just can’t compete. I wish it were better.
