This place is horrible. I could not leave fast enough.

A place like no other in Houston. Step inside and you might think you’re in 1975. Has the feel of jazz bar from the 70s or 80s. The crowd is a bit older, maybe 50 – 60 on average. Live music is great. Starts at 9:45 or so. Drinks are kind of expensive, at about $ 10 each. But since there is no cover, seems reasonable.

Kinda cute with the all the singing and dancing. It does have an odd collection of people. Over all it is not super bad experience but I was charged 5 bucks for water… So maybe Enough said.

I’m only giving 2-stars for the AMAZINGBAND. They actually deserve 5-stars but due to the service at this place tonight, I took stars away from the establishment itself. About 25 – 30 of us came here for a friend’s bday party. About 45 minutes after sitting there, the one waiter that was working the whole joint asked my friend & I if we wanted a drink. She ordered a house wine(9.75) — very pricey for house wine and I asked for a glass of water & asked him to come back in 5 minutes for my drink order because I was still deciding. He said it would be $ 5.41 for a glass of water — not a bottle, but tap water! I asked him why and he said because there was a minimum drink order required. I said that’s cool. I’m still going to order a drink, I just don’t know what I want yet. He told me that if I ordered the water first, then the drink that he would have to charge me for the water. This was so asinine! He came back like an hour later with no water & asked me what I wanted. I told him, «Nothing. You took way too long & I’m leaving now». He said something smart to my friend & I left. I get out to the parking lot & some drunken guy is kicking a lady’s car & yelling at her in another language. Two guys were trying to keep him away from her. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

We love this place but this is not the kind of bar where you go to see and be seen. This is the anti-douche bar. This an old neighborhood bar and it looks like an old neighborhood bar. The average age of the crowd is probably 60 – 65. The drinks are a little pricey but the bartender isn’t stingy with the liquor so it’s worth it. The house band is outstanding! The service is great and they’ve always got popcorn. Bonus: It’s in the same strip center as House of Pies.

Senior hot spot! Hey we all age… otherwise we fertilize, however when I go out I don’t usually want to socialize with the 60 plus crowd. Its rough having men your Father’s age constantly hitting on you. Really offensive. I hope to always be social and fun… but I’ll never be a senior going for 20 to 30 years my junior. The band is great. Bar staff NICE. My reservation is the age range. Also its so dark and shady inside. Seriously no light! I like a dive… but this is dank. There’s no charm or uniqueness. Super spot for seniors or if you’re a vampire avoiding the light. Not for me… but others love it. You decide.

I went to visit Houston in March and this place was… cool. I went twice during my vacation. I’m in my twenties so the crowd is much older but it is fun to people watch! Te drinks are good and cheap.(But maybe I’m just used to DC prices) I made friends with the bartender Tyson. Who is awesome and great. It’s safe to say when I do finally move to Houston I will be visiting again.

Do they have an option for half a star? This is the absolute worst bar in Houston. I am shocked that my brethren-Yelpsters have deemed this bar as «a hidden gem» in the Galleria area. I wasted one hour of my life watching male senior citizens dancing and groping either mail order brides or paid hookers. This joint is sleazy. The only saving grace is the potent, yet cheap mixed drinks that I slammed down to avoid my own misery. My hangover the following day was atrocious. I am just keepin’ it real, baby!

There’s definitely a strange dark 80s miami vice look to the place… very odd collection of people, but good people watching and live band. Fun for a late late dive bar/dance spot.

My partner and I were looking for a low-key bar in the area after a work dinner function and found this place through the Unilocal mobile app. I don’t think I ever would’ve stumbled upon it without the app! It’s in a strip center behind the House of Pies with its own parking lot, shared with other businesses that aren’t open at night. It was almost 10 pm on a Saturday, but there were probably less than 20 people sitting around the bar and at the tables. There is a small amount of sidewalk seating mainly for those on a smoke break. A private function was happening in an open space next to the bar. Two keyboardists and a drummer were playing. We seated ourselves and a waiter quickly came over with a bowl of popcorn and took our drink orders. Drinks were a little pricey, but at least there was no cover charge. The music was old R&B, Motown, Marvin Gaye, 1960s-1970s. Maybe that explains why the majority of the patrons were at least in their 40s? It was probably the most racially diverse set of bar patrons I’d ever been amongst — older Eastern European couples, middle-aged black couples and groups, younger Latinas doing a girls’ night out. The service was attentive and efficient, despite a single waiter working the tables and the place got more crowded as the evening progressed. What struck me is how very dark they kept the space. If it wasn’t for the Christmas tree lit up in the corner, the space would’ve been pitch black. It’s so dark, the waiter holds a small flashlight over your check as you sign the credit card receipt. Overall, good spot for drinks and live music if you enjoy 1970s soul, funk, and R&B.

I was at Caps with my Houston Single friends meetup group. I didn’t know Caps. It was around on Friday at 9am. There were a lot of parking spot. I didn’t have to worry about a towing truck. Actually, everyone have to park cars on the streets at some bar inside 610, We always have to worry about towing. I looked around the bar, there were a lot of people who looked like 40’s –60’s.It seemed to me that this was not a place for the young. But it was not loud because they just enjoyed quite«zen» music there, I guessed. The music was actually kind of Jazz. Our group got free pop corns. I am not sure if these were only for us. Anyway, I enjoyed dance at a small dance floor. I had some cake. I gave it to my friends. They said,‘It’s too big. Do you have a knife?“I went to a bar in order to get some knife. I asked a bartender«Do you have a knife? Yes. I have.I can give you unless you kill me.“I am a Asian. I guess I looked like the last samurai. I had to make sure I won’t use the knife for my Harakiri celemony. Anyway, overall. It was a nice piano bar near the Galleria area. I would like to see the bartender again and have his cocktail! Cheers!

Caps has been the perfect little«dive» bar off Westheimer for many years. After enjoying a incredible dinner at Fuads, slide on over slightly to the west to this hidden gem. In behind House of pies, Caps is definitely for the 35+ crowd. Its cougar heaven!!! Many nights you can find a band playing and singing oldies, including jazz, til 2am. Its dark inside and almost all those inside would prefer to keep it that way! Drinks are very strong, but pricey, and the bartenders are awesome! They will definitely take care of you! Enjoy dancing the night away at Caps!

I’m a fan because I thought these bars didn’t exist. This place is seedy, dark and a BAR. We went on an off night(a Thursday) and there was no band, four of what could be described as ‘youngsters looking for fun’ and the bartender. Okay…the beer and drinks were a little pricey, but the bartender made up for that. Truly a bartender of yore: fun, engaging and showing us bar tricks. We left before the music started, but it was a really nice to be at a different place that reminded me of what bars really used to be like.

Great customer service; I just phoned to see what was going on tonight(Friday 7⁄29) The woman who answered the phone was very helpful she told me about the band that was playing and what time they were playing and what kind of music they played and encouraged me to stop by. My GF is into Jazz music and very high maintenance so I have to make these types of calls before planning our evening… definitely will check this place out very soon …

Nice loungy piano bar that offers live jazz and blues nightly. And open mic night on Mondays! It’s kinda hidden the House of Pies, so look out for it.
