As a mother, I tend to feel skeptical about a new hobby or teachers for that matter when it comes to my precious gems. I looked on their very informative website for the classes available for my 3 year old daughter, honestly I didn’t care what kind of dance she would be taking just wanted her to try-out this kind of physical activity to find out if this is something that she could pursue. I have such a busy schedule already and e-mailed CDP about«fitting in» my daughter in ANY kind of dance instruction and what do you know? we found the perfect one! Melissa was very informative in what class she could join(if my daughter liked it) and so we scheduled a free try-out class right before my son’s football practice. The big day came and met up with the ballet and tap instructor and she was a Gem! She also saw that my son was curious of what her little sis was going to be doing so he also was allowed to take a free class with the younger category girls(3 – 4) when he is 6. As a concerned mother of a toddler I did not know how my daughter would react or if she would be willing to listen to the instructions given by the teacher but after seeing other students attempting to follow the teacher she also reflected or at least attempted to on what the teacher modeled. My daughter did have issues understanding the movements but once the teacher sees that youre TRYING to follow her even with a little struggle, she actually takes her time to help out which that is what sold me on this class! After talking to the administrators of how my son also enjoyed this class with the younger students they were willing to allow him to enroll since he did a great job and this was his very first dance lesson ever! Finally I was able to make the decision to have them enrolled since both enjoyed it so much and will work in my son’s benefit while he is doing sports at the same time. However I do have to point out how all the other older girls walked into this dance studio with such enthusiasm and prepared looking forward to their class and that gave me peace in mind. The facility is very clean, organized, and the staff is beyond friendly even when trying to work around some of our busy schedules. The staff also made my son feel very comfortable to be in a female dominant activity and not once did he feel embarrassed(coming from a football and soccer player). I am looking forward to our next week’s class with both my kiddos!

This studio is a gem for Cypress and the Greater Houston area. They are a non profit studio that focuses on the dancers and developing members of the dance community. Oh btw they also win! Although competition is not their main focus the environment Mrs April fosters happens to crank out some incredible dances. Look them up and watch some of their amazing performances.
