Days Inn & Suites Houston North/FM 1960

Staff was extremely helpful resolving a booking issue. Rooms could use updating but that’s why the price is so reasonable. It’s clean and comfy and gets the job done!

I have stayed at different Days inn locations many times. It’s a brand that I usually associate with a stress free stay.
We had just arrived back in Texas due to fly out early the next morning and all we wanted was to relax… I was a little concerned when we pulled in and realized that the building had external corridors and the parking lot had a lot of litter in it, but as I said we were tired so we checked in.
I wish we would have just left…
— the whole room smelled faintly like urine
— ciggaret burns in the sheets
— a hand print on the back of the bathroom door
— there was packing tape holding the door sweep on, you could see about 2 inches of sunlight through it.
— stains on the carpet by the bathroom the could have been blood.
Those were the main reasons that we left and are now staying at super8.

Staff was friendly.
Room was a bit dated but bed was, comfy, room was nice and cold, fridge and microwave worked.
Standard continental breakfast.
All my needs were met.
Not a bad place & would stay here again.
Bonus: Waffle House Next door.

We recently stayed at the Days Inn for three nights. The motel is not exactly in the best part of town, but not terrible.
Cons:
Rooms are a little run down & could use a makeover.
Shower was slightly peeling away from the dry wall.
Our comforter had what appeared to be cigarette burns on the underside. (luckily they didn’t smell like smoke at all though)
Room had a strong smell of bleach, especially on the sheets, blankets & towels.
Continental breakfast was lacking a little on choices (many Days Inn & Suites have waffle makers & warm eggs as an option). They had yogurt out one of the three mornings, coffee, hot tea, 3 different types of cereals, plain bagels w/​cream cheese, English muffins, small danish (pre packaged type, but not terribly dry), small muffins & oatmeal.
Pool area needs a make over. Mis-​matched chairs & only one table. Could definitely use a little TLC.
Pros:
The staff was VERY nice.
The main, front desk lady (I’m sorry I can’t remember her name) was great & she was very willing to work with us on having a late check out the last day.
The bleach smell means all is clean at least!
Mini fridge & micro in the room was great since we had three kids w/​us who like to snack.
Room was large w/​a couch area in the front & plenty of space to spread out.
TV had cable
Free internet access IN room
I think that about sums it up. Our stay was smooth from check in to check out.
