The lady who seemed to be somewhat in charged could not get our order right. SHe was nice, but they ran out of the special of the day so we ordered something else. But she was wanted to charge us for the more expensive item, but we would get the lesser option. SHe didn’t want to change it at first as it would be more difficult. Our food came out before we were even done getting this settled. It still never got properly settled. Salad was ok. Had to go back up and ask for dressing. Burger was fine. Besides ordering issue food was OK. Not great; not bad.

Pretty good burger for downtown lunch. Angus beef, tuna, all pretty tasty. Sweet potato fries and good salad make it a more balanced meal.

Exotic meats, pasta, naan pizzas, muffulettas, burgers and salads. D7 offers variety with fresh, tasty food. The naan pizzas are good. I have also had a tasty crab cake burger. On my last visit, I had a delicious pesto linguini with wild boar sausage. The menu also offers mahi-mahi, venison, and Kobe burgers. The low rating on D7 surprises me. My coworkers have said that the other locations are better, but I think the food at this location is pretty good. I like the idea of spending my lunch money on quality food over great waitstaff service. Don’t expect much for service overall at D7. As you enter the restaurant, grab a menu and stand in line for the register. The cashier will give you a number stand to take back to your table. If you order a soft drink, the self-serve machine is in the middle of D7. Silverware and napkins are on the tables. Your entrée will be brought to your table, but that’s about it for service. When you complete your meal, grab a free ice cream cone at the ice cream dispenser located near the drink machine. Prices are a bit higher than most lunch places. Expect to pay around $ 15 for a meal including drink. Yes, drinks are self-serve, but I feel that the food variety and quality alone justify the price. Worth a stop.

This restaurant is located in the downtown tunnels and is great for lunch. They serve food that is cooked fresh, like salmon fillet with orzo(had that last time). My favorite dish is the pepperoni and wild boar pizza which comes with basil and pesto. There’s always a long line, so take an early lunch or come after the crowd. The seats are first come, so if you have a group, scope the place while in line. They also offer complimentary ice cream for after your meal, but I’m greedy, so root beer float. Overall, if your client/boss insists on treating and you need to stay healthy, go here because there are many delicious options that don’t expand the waist.

Went here for lunch for the first time and was pleased. The portion size for the price is good. The blackened mahi pasta is very good!

This place is located in the downtown tunnels. Super busy during lunch hours but definitely worth the wait. Their food is made fresh and they have a huge variety. Their pastas and salads are AMAZING! Definitely love going here for lunch.

It seemed like they discontinued my fav dish«sautéed mussels» please bring it back! I ordered the paella(new dish) and it was not good at all! It was cheesy and bland except for the seafood. However the venison sausage linguine was good:)

I came to district 7 for lunch on a weekday. The line was out the door but moved a pretty good pace. The menu is full of pasta bowls, salad, pizza and sandwiches. I opted for the parmesan crusted chicken with pesto(option for marinara too). The plating of the dish was great, I was excited to taste it, and it was big portion as well. Thats where it went down hill, the food had no taste what so ever. Usually pesto sauces have a strong flavor and taste fresh, this sauce was very bland. I had to salt and pepper it to get some down. The chicken was also very greasy and all I could taste was the panko breading, none of the parmesean. The highlight of my meal was the free softserve ice cream… I wont be returning, at least to this locations, I’e heard the midtown location is better.

Unlike some reviewers here, I love the tunnels. Sure it is a little pricey, but the convenience is worth the extra couple bucks. I come here often and every time the service is prompt, the food is good, and I leave totally satisfied. I either have the Panko Chicken Salad, Grilled Chicken on Rye, Blackened Salmon or the Kobe Beef Burger. All are great!

I don’t really like eating in the downtown tunnels. It’s overpriced and crowded. The food is mediocre. Service shoddy. Having said that, I also dislike sitting at my desk all day, every day, and sometimes I just want to get out. Insert District 7 Grill. It’s close to my office and if I go after the lunch rush there are no crowds. I have tried their specials sometimes, with mixed luck. Noone ever seems to know where the fish comes from, and I’m a wild caught fish snob, so I just stopped ordering fish. The salads are pretty good. The burgers are delicious. There’s a mustard aioli that I really like to dip my fries in. I don’t like that it costs over $ 15 for a burger and fries(no drink), but I suppose they have to make rent, too, and I’m paying for convenience. Overall, it’s a solid 3 star. I’ll keep going back, because options are limited. So if you find yourself stuck in the downtown tunnels, District 7 Grill is a decent choice.

Japanese Kobe burger was not too bad. Fries are steak fries and were the best part of the meal. Restaurant was clean and employees friendly. Free ice cream desert!

Delectable. Excellent. Savory. That would be my colleagues and I experience with District 7 Grill in The Tunnel on Louisiana! Our table was reserved by our boss, service was warm and prompt! I was saying to myself the food fare must be good here, because it is crowded! I knew it to be true when I took my first bite of the Spinach Salad! The Honey Balsamic Dressing packed so much flavor and element! Kudos to whomever made it! I also ordered The Pappardelle… and I must tell you the Ginger Sauce was packing much flavor and detail as well… the clams, scallops, and shrimp played their part in the entrée! There was a hint of heat which turned my meal into a Foodie’s Heaven in The Tunnel… I recommend that you try one of their salads, if you do nothing else… or one of the Moofs! LOL! Plus for a sweet, amnesty treat. they serve free ice cream! How nice…

I disdain heading to the tunnels, especially when there are above-ground options so nearby. This reaffirmed my experience. I delight going to District 7 Grill in Midtown. This one is equi-distant from me, and so I braved the tunnels to try it out. My staple there is the Kobe Beef Burger with the caramelized onions of goodness. Here, the bun had a slightly staler texture. Also, I paid the same price but got no fries here where I would have in Midtown. $ 16 after drink, tax, and tip, and I felt somehow shorted. For those who like the freebies, you’ll delight in the free chocolate soft serve. Also, they don’t give you cups when you pay — they are near the fountain drinks. I guess you could be cheap and just steal a cup for soda or for soft serve if you’re feeling really naughty. This former Girl Scout paid tried-and-true as I ought to have. Another point against this place is their specials. Yesterday, they were offering a kale salad with blackened shrimp. My coworker friend LOVES kale like you wouldn’t know it and ordered this guy. What came out was a romaine salad. She took it back and asked for the kale. They brought it back with field greens added. I didn’t see any kale, but she was polite enough not to complain again. Moral of the story — go to the Midtown location.

Still terrible here guys. Service is fine, I guess. But every dish they have is bone dry, no flavor, and super small portions. Just shut it down already!

I’ve been to district 7 in the tunnels more than 5 times. On the 6th — I tried the pasta parm chicken. VERY disappointing. Burgers are great… fries are great. Service — not so much. Pasta had absolutely NOFLAVOR. Chicken was overcooked and flavorless as well. Don’t have any plans on going back. Will call them to let them know how awful my meal was.

Not a bad place for lunch since it offers such a variety of items. Usually a safe choice for work lunches because of that. Their burgers are pretty good and comes with steak fries which I’m a fan of. The panko chicken salad is also alright and I’ve heard good things about their pasta. It does get pretty packed around 11:30−12pm but the line moves pretty fast. Free soft-serve at the end of the meal doesn’t hurt either.

I would actually give this place one and half stars. I ordered the dish of the day which was blackened salmon, and rice with black beans. I enjoyed the rice and and black beans but when I got to the center of the salmon it was uncooked. I had to give the dish back to the owner of the restaurant and tell him to finish cooking it. Instead of bringing me a new piece of salmon they threw mine back on the grill and finished blackening it. The salmon was so salty that it was almost unbearable to eat. Next time I am going to stick to my home cooked salmon. I don’t think I will be giving this place another chance. Thanks!

(*Edit* I’ve discovered you serve $ 2 breakfast tacos. And they’re not terrible. Good job –you’ve been upgraded to 2.5 stars. ;p *Edit*) 3 chances and ya struck out District. The salad was the betterment of what you presented, but not as good as Corner Bakery or Alonti. I just can’t throw that much money at you hoping one of your items is really worth it. For some reason I still want to try a pizza and burger. I require a coworker’s bribe of free food to come back, though.

This is the tunnel location of District 7, in the newly remodeled section on the way to the«loop» where Beck’s, etc. is. Same great D7 food, underground location. I went last week and had no trouble; everything was just as it would be at the diner location on the edge of downtown. In fact, you could argue that this location is better in some ways as it has more indoor seating(but no outdoor seating). It’s also not full waiter service. Instead, order at the counter, grab a number and your drink from the fountain, and have a seat. The food comes out fairly quickly. It can be a little pricey, but this D7 is definitely a good place to go to escape the rain and have a good bite to eat.

So. I gave this place yet another few chances for lunch. The first time was probably a week after they opened. I ordered the Buffalo burger– medium. The burger was pretty much med/rare… too much red for me. The buns are way too thick IMO. Next time I tried the chicken sandwich– alright, but nothing spectacular– too many onions and very sloppy. A couple times afterwards I tried the chicken on the flatbread– Much better, but way too many onions still. Today(4/11)I tried the pasta Parm Encrusted chicken-Pesto. Umm lets just say they really need to work on cooking the chicken for this thoroughly. Majority of the pieces of chicken I could not eat because they looked undercooked. I basically had to pick through and cut my chicken into cubes and then butterfly them to make sure it was cooked all the way through… pink and semi red looking chicken pieces is a HUGE no no for anyone. :( The pasta was very bland and I had to add salt which I hardly, if ever, use. Maybe their pizza’s are better or maybe I’m just ordering the wrong dishes. *sigh* Pro– The breakfast is actually really good and they give you a lot for what you pay for.
