Firehouse Subs

I have to say, the service here is awesome! I’m 8.5 months pregnant, and I ordered a turkey sandwich for a friend. The girl at the counter asked if it was for me, and when I told her no, she responded with, «Oh ok, I was going to have them cook it longer for you if it was,» referring to my bump. That kind of thoughtfulness goes such a long way for me, and the fact she even knew it could be an issue shows that these people watch out for their customers! Great sandwiches too, of course!!!

I could’ve liked this place, I should like it, but I don’t. I order the turkey bacon ranch sandwich. There were two women at the counter yet I still had to wait a while.
While preparing my sandwich I noticed that the turkey bacon and cheese were heated, in a PLASTIC bag. Umm, no ma’am. Are y’all trying to kill me?! Admittedly, I ate the sandwich (I was hungry) and it is wasn’t the greatest food I ever ate.
Wouldn’t order a warm sandwich here unless you want some bpa in your body.

Love Firehouse Subs! They probably have my favorite warm sub than any other place. I always get the hook and ladder. Love that they have the fancy soft drink dispenser. I usually get a cherry limeade drink. The sandwiches are big and fill you up. This location is clean and bright and open. Always have had good customer service as well.

Both employees were on their cell phones and didn’t say anything to the customers were very rude, more focused on texting rather than making people’s food, it took forever and my sandwich was wrong…

My first time here & I’m «hooked». Ha! Seriously though. I don’t usually like toasted subs because the bread gets too hard & hurts the roof of my mouth. These were great! I got the club on a sub. I did have one piece of a little brown lettuce, but the rest if it was really fresh. They have one of the coke machines with all the flavors to mix & match, but too much carbonation & not enough syrup comes out. Not much flavor then. Clean place. For the price and size of the subs, I’m all for it!!!

Out of the 4 or 5 times I been there, the staff greets you as soon as you walk in. As I order, they are very polite. Even the manager acknowledges every customer.
I will definitely come back to this place.

My beau and I got Veggie subs with mushrooms and all the other veggie fixins. First, it took a long time to get our order and no one was there minus two other people. Second, it was warm inside which is never a nice thing in Texas. When we got home the bread was soggy and left us with really wet sandwiches thar fell apart. The flavor was good, but wet sandwiches really aren’t my cup of tea. I really liked their Cherry Limeade out of their fancy soda machine. I also really like their Hot sauce collection. $ 20 for 2 combos wasn’t a bad price either. Just wish when they steamed their buns they didn’t come out dripping.

I have been curious to try this place for a couple of years now. My wife and I finally went and now I’m sad we didn’t go sooner. The ladies behind the counter were a little scary, but at least they did wear gloves. I got the Steak and Cheese combo and my wife got the Club on a Sub combo. They have a big selection of hot sauces at the front which was awesome. My sub was good with a bunch of hot sauce, but my wife’s Club was so much better. The ham and turkey on it was like a Christmas Thanksgiving party in my mouth! Subway just went down on my list.

Great food. Great service. I arrived at 9 30 after work to grab a sandwich for dinner. They close at 9 but when i pulled up, the managers were standing outside and they let me in and made me a sandwich themselves. They didnt order an employee to do anything. That’s the greatest service ive had. They’ve earned a customer for life.

Where is the fire? Here, that’s where!
Oh snap, I feel sorry for the other Delis in the area because this was great! I had the club and it by far exceeded my expectations. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Recommend to a friend? Why yes, AND enemies.

I hadn’t eaten at a Firehouse Sub in forever! Since my San Antonio days. Suprprise, surprise there’s one right by our place. I’ve been meaning to go but always forgot it was there. I got home from work one afternoon and my husband said he wanted to go. The place is fire fighter/​house themed. The inside is cool with fire fighter jackets and boots on display. They even have fire fighter plastic hats for the kiddos.
I ordered the Italian Sub with Genoa salami, pepperoni, ham, melted provolone, Italian dressing, and seasonings. It’s a hot sub that’s so yummy. The meats are all great, melty cheese and nicely toasted bread. Even with a car ride home it was good. My husband got the meatlball sub with talian meatballs, melted provolone, zesty marinara, and Italian seasonings.
These subs were packed with goodness. Oh and holy crap let’s not forget the soda fountain. It was the first time I had seen the soda machines with million combinations… I got coke zero cherry vanilla. Not to shabby. But wow it was overwhelming trying to decide.
Firehouse subs is a winner. Who doesn’t love a good hot sandwich?!

These days there are so many sub shops around. So it takes a special ingredient to set them apart. At Firehouse subs, that special item are their hot sauces! They have so many different versions of hot sauces from BURNING HOT to somewhat mild. I like their house specialty which is like a HOT BBQ sauce. It’s so good on top of ANY of their sandwiches. I usually get a Hook and Ladder of their Engineer, and their meatball is actually VERY good.

Great place, looks small from the outside but has a lot of sitting area, the service was fast, and the employers we’re friendly. The subs my husband and i got were good they added plenty of steak, one thing i would say is to maybe add extra chesse, the chesse melts pretty fast and with the overflow of steak, green peppers, onion and mushrooms, you could barely taste the chesse. The coke machine what the coolest thing there, my kids enjoyed drinking strawberry sprite and other flavored soda

Today was my third time picking up lunch at Firehouse subs. The first couple of times the service was a bit slow, but today it was great. I forgot to catch her name (!), but the girl with the brown hair in a ponytail that took my order was awesome. She was so friendly and when she wasn’t taking orders or welcoming guests that walked in, she was cleaning tables and always smiling. I totally appreciate that type of attitude and work ethic as a former waitress & bartender. I got the turkey sandwich… I’m telling you the deli meat is where it’s at here at Firehouse. SO GOOD. It’s good too because the sandwich is 8 in. long instead of 6 in. like Subway, so I like to eat half now and half later! I also like coming here really for their cool soda fountain that has a ton of different flavors. However today they were out of quite a few selections. I recommend this for a fast lunch/​snack for later kind of place!

Lead me not into temptation, just take me to Firehouse and drop me off. I love the hot-​sauce rack and FH’s own sauce is excellent.

Firehouse subs is my favorite place to go to get a sandwich in Houston. The experience of it all provides the total package. The firehouse décor makes you feel like you are actually there at the firehouse.
The service at this location was very fast and friendly. I chose to get the Engineer fully involved. Smoked turkey breast, melted Swiss, and sautéed mushrooms, loaded complete with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a dill pickle spear on the side. So delicious!
The most exciting part about this restaurant is the drink machine. One machine with a wide variety of sodas, teas, and waters that you can customize with your own choice of flavors such as peach, vanilla, and cherry. I spent almost 10 minutes customizing my drink! Their specialty drink is the Cherry Limeade which is the perfect mix of sweet and tart.

This Firehouse Subs is off of Westheimer and Wilcrest, opposite the Target, Shoe Carnival, and such. It’s behind the Sally’s Beauty Supply, so don’t freak if you don’t see it from the street!
Service is great, very nice people that work there. I wish I could speak of their subs in the same manner, though. I’ve been disappointed both times I’ve visited, and I don’t think I’ll be back for a third. They’re pretty mediocre. In fact, I think less. I prefer Subway. It’s more bang for your buck, too. My boyfriend got a Large sub today for 9 $, and it was pretty boring. It was long, don’t get me wrong, but it just wasn’t good. There wasn’t much flavor to it. It was supposed to be a Philly Cheesesteak type of thing. Funny thing, though; the sandwich was steaming after he took a bite, but. it wasn’t hot. I nibbled off of it myself and thought ‘This is definitely not hot’. I was expecting to be breathing in through my mouth with a bite of the sandwich in there as well! Sad.
But they have the coolest soda machine, evveerrrrrr! You’ll fall in love with it like I did. Way too many options it’ll take you at least five minutes of scrolling through to decide!

My sister took me to this place today because she was on the birthday group for a free sub from here. Before this, I had never heard or seen this place. Upon driving by and walking up to the shop, I was like eh. Probably another sandwich chain that’s like every other place. But the presentation of the restaurant on the inside was EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE. I loved the way that the inside looked and they had tv’s everywhere for viewing. The menu looked great and the sandwiches were in the $ 6.00 Range. They have a really cool electronic ice machine/​drink machine that’s badass. The employee’s were all really nice and helpful and service is really good.
I forgot which sandwich we ordered but I expected it to be extremely tasty seeing the presentation of the restaurant. But when I ate the food, it wasn’t quite as I expected. It was a little bit dry and the meat wasn’t that tasty as I expected it to be. This is why I give it a 3 stars. The food would be the main thing that I want to have that’s the best in a restaurant.

Great subs. I have tried 3 different ones now, the club, the Italian, and the steak and cheese and would gladly order any of the three again. They are served hot which is exactly how I like my subs.
The surprising bonus is the homemade cherry limeade. It is absolutely fantastic. I usually dont drink the stuff but this was incredible. I want to go back just to drink that.
