If only you know how much I like burgers, I can not imagine my life without them and this place help me to survive) Lol.4 stars only because it has a bad location and it is difficult for me to get there and not only for me, some of my friends think so too. But this food truck is worth visiting. There is a big variety of fast food. If you are crazy about this kind of food, definitely visit this food truck, you will not regret I assure you.

Woah something new for me! I really enjoyed the small filipino food truck. In my opinion it wasn’t the usual Filipino food you’d find but a twist and fusion culture. Favorite items –breakpas burger –and the puet I find the burgers rather satisfying from the plates because of the size and quantity of th meats they use. I mean hey, us Filipinos love breakfast so you can’t go wrong with the breakpas burger.

Food truck right outside marquis, they serve various burgers that are all Filipino style, they also got halo halo and the flip n patty fries which is what I got… the fries are very similar to kimchi fries that are topped with beef, green onion and a spicy mayo sauce… it was good but not worth $ 8 I think and it was something out of this world

Awesome burgers but their spotty hours and location times make it hard to go often. I tried the Jeepney and Puet burgers. Puet was the better of the two — with beef and pork mixed together as a patty, it was fatty and delicious. The buns on both are slightly lighter than a regular burger bun — and a similar consistency to what you would get in those chinese pork belly buns. The Puet was so tasty that it made the Jeepney pale in comparison. It wasn’t as flavorful and the patty was dried out on the Jeepney. Their fries are pretty standard but tasty. Seems like every food truck has some sort of fries with meat and mayo on top. It’s nothing special but about as good as anywhere else.

Ordered the pupu plate with addition of egg and extra fliprolls on the side. More than enough portion for the price you pay, so it’s a decent amount for those who want to share. The fliprolls were delicious as I am a sucker for egg rolls in general; they are like every other egg rolls but with special sweet sauce for dipping. If you want a plate and like something sweet then choose be pupu plate. I enjoyed it overall but I think it would’ve tasted better if it wasn’t super drenched in the sweet sauce that comes with the chicken. The chicken already adds enough sweetness to the plate, but they added more of that same sauce to the rice so it was a little too sweet in my opinion. I’ll order it again in the future but will ask for less sauce instead.

Loved their flip n fries. This was a the only foodtruck which was open in the midnight on a Tuesday. At 12am on a weekday there were few customers, that says something. They serve a very good portion of fries which can be shared by two easily IMO. Verdict– Will surely go again!

I have been twice and twice disappointed. I got the PuPu platter and a skewers platter. The spring roles are good, but small. That’s fine, as they are just a garnish to the platter. For both the chicken and pork, the platter has only one note: sweet. The garlic rice is sweet, as are both the meats. I like sweet, but I need a salty contrast. When I got the skewers, I had to wait a very long time, even though their traffic was normal. I think they were out of rice(or running out). This was likely confirmed when my platter came really rice light(like a maybe a cup or two), which is a shame when 2 skewers of pork and the rice cost 10 $. The chicken wasn’t a particularly excellent Asian fry, again the sauce was one note, and while I love thighs, they were very labor intensive to eat. I will likely try one last time and get a brekpast burger, but I won’t have high hopes.

I never make any time for reviews, but this an exception. Best comfort food ever. The garlic rice is poppin to where I feel like I didn’t need soy sauce with it. I was so full for such a great price and fantastic quality of bomb ass food truck food. I had something with spam, egg, pork rolls and alotta garlic rice with a salad hiding underneath. Can’t recall though. The Breekfast sandwich is HELLA fab. My love who enjoys hamburgers so called it the best hamburger he’s EVER had. «It even beats America’s burgers.» The folks that run the food truck are super welcoming and just lovely, nice human beings. There aren’t much Filipino things around here it seems(Or maybe that I don’t know of hmu) so it’s pretty nice to eat something that so close to home. It’s simple food a lot of flavour, and have defiantly WILL brighten your day. *Basically, It’s so delish that it almost brought me to tears, made me miss my hometown and made want the sing the main verse from, «OHMYDAYUM». Go look for the song on YouTube! Hahaha. I will defiantly keep coming back here when my belly demands it so. Support your local food trucks!

I have to say I was very disappointed in Flip n Patties today. I have had their pupu plate and flip n fries before but today they both tasted very bad. The fries with the sauce was too salty and the pupu plate was too sweet. The chicken tasted like it was rolled in sugar and the rice mixed in with the sauce from the chicken tasted like sugar rice. I was very disappointed because I spend $ 17 and it wasn’t worth that. :(

Wow I’m in love… I can’t believe I only found out about this amazing food truck yesterday! If you haven’t tried flip’n patties yet you absolutely MUST! We tried the chicken pupu and the flip’n fries. Both were awesome! I absolutely love the flip’n fries. The fries are so delicious with the sauce all over and the cilantro added is just perfect. You can get the fries with beef, chicken, pork. I loved the beef with the fries. Definitely one of my favorite places in Houston now!

wow htown filipino food represent! MUSTTRY: 1) Puet Burger — pork belly on pretty decently sized patty. mmm ya get the juicy burger and feel a little crispy/softness to the pork belly, satisfaction to the max 2) Brekfpas Burger — haha I love the play on filipino accent, breakpas = breakfast burger — juicy patty + spam, fried egg, sweet buns 3) Flip N Fries — crispy fries with spicy mayo, what a simple delight! Their burgers come in the filipino siopao-bun(sweet, rice bun). I’ll be honest, I tend to get tired of sweet buns mid burger(only happens with burgers, not ladies). But the beauty of the siopao bun is only offers a hint of sweetness, so I didn’t get tired of it. In fact, I wanted to order another burger. It’s kind of like rice. You try to limit yourself to 1 or 2 scoops, but sometimes once you start, you just can’t stop! like ridin’ spinners mayneeeeeeeee~

Let’s just cut right to the chase. Are there any Filipino families out there willing to adopt a fresh seventeen year old looking Chinese girl who’s really in her washed up late twenties? Because if this is how Filipinos eat, then DAMN. I’ll order my Tagalog Rosetta Stone right nao. I came here on Friday night with some friends when they were parked at the Marquis II. For all of you who spend more time on the couch with your bae Netflix than at bars with actual humans, the Marquis II is a dive bar and NOT an Edwards movie theater. So don’t make the same mistake I did and walk up to the box office asking for the 7pm showing of the chicken pu pu. Jokes aside, the chicken pu pu was everything I thought life could be and more. The chicken was still super crispy even after marinating in its bath of sweet and tangy sauce. Not sure what the sauce was exactly, but it kind of reminded me of that sauce you get when you order sesame chicken. The plate also comes with this amazing garlic fried rice too. It wasn’t like your typical fried rice as the texture was a wee bit more sticky than what I’m used to. Not a bad thing though, because when I mixed that sauce, with that rice, angels were born. All in all, it was so much better than I expected. The ONLY reason it didn’t get 5 stars though is because the wait time was pretty long. Which might not matter to most because normal people would probably just grab a drink at the bar while they waited. But for those of you who are like me and would trudge through the deepest levels of hell before they’d miss the opportunity to pick up their food right when their name is called, it really is kind of a wait. UPDATE: Changing my review to five stars cause the owner informed me that my unusually long wait was just because a Duggard meets the Kardashians sized family placed a to go order right before me(my words, not theirs, in case this offends any descendants from those family trees).

Highlights: The Brekpas: 1⁄3 lb patty, caramelized onions, fried egg, and SPAM all on a sweet rice bun. Greasy, oozing, messy, and most importantly delicious! This burger has it all! The skewers: a little too fatty and would’ve wanted a little more char on the meat The garlic rice: flavorful yet not overpowering. add the pu pu sauce on top! These guys are friendly and most importantly cook up some of the best food truck grub that Houston has to offer!

Delicious food truck! Fiancé has been trying to track this truck when they would be conveniently close to use. One night, they were located in the heights so we decided to go. Ended up ordering the jeepney, puet, and flip n fries. The puet was delicious and super flavorful. My favorite out of the two. The sautéed onions add a nice flavor with the smoked pork butt. I thought the jeepney was a little dry and that might have been because we got the egg fried instead of runny. Adding ketchup helped though! As for the fries, it was delicious, however way too much cilantro for my tastes! I was picking those off so the cilantro taste would overpower the other flavors. I also loved the sweet bread as the bun for the burgers. Delish! Overall, delicious burgers! I’ll definitely be back for another puet burger!

I’ve been bad. I frequented this truck when they first launched. Food and karaōke outside a hot spot for drankz on Tuesdays? It was like a trifecta of everything I enjoy. I slowly stopped chasing food trucks, and it feels like I haven’t been back in at least a year. Well, I came back and so happy I did. I tried the skewer plate($ 10) and slapped myself for not coming back sooner. It was so good! Everything was delicious! Food hot, eggrolls crispy, all of it was top notch tasty. It comes with two skewers of grilled pork(about 5 – 6 pieces per skewer), the sinsanag(?) rice, two eggrolls, lettuce, slice of tomato and a sauce for the eggrolls that could be for the skewers too. I want more. The guys on this truck are always super nice. Don still remembered me from way back. We decided to wait inside Marquis and grab a drink and someone brought our food to us. Utensils, napkins and all! Some notes: The rice is really garlicky. I had that taste in my mouth for a while afterwards which I didn’t totally mind(heart garlic), but you can test love with that garlic breath afterwards. Their truck is great at updating their social media on their whereabouts and their website calendar is ALWAYS up to date, which I love about them! Some trucks aren’t as good with that, and it’s annoying when you’re driving around town to get to them. The last couple of years, they have a pish(fish) plate highlighted during lent for all my catholic peeps out there. I’m not sure why I trusted getting fish on a food truck, but I did and that was delicious as well. Be on the lookout if they decide to do that again! Better than getting filet o fish every Friday.

Flip ‘n Patties is probably my favorite food truck in Houston. There are not many Filipino restaurants, let alone food trucks, in Houston, making Flip ‘n Patties all the more special. Besides the unique(and delicious) food, what sets Flip ‘n Patties above the other food trucks would definitely be the service. The workers are incredibly friendly, and if you go just one time, they will usually recognize your face or even remember your name the second time(even if it’s months later!). Also, I ordered one of their ice cream burgers before, and they had run out of the yam flavored ice cream. So what do they do? Give me a second free dessert — their pudding/flan which was delicious. As for the food, I always order the pupu platter. Even though it is pronounced(poopoo), believe me, it is anything but. They have the most delicious rice I have ever eaten; it’s buttery, soft, with a little crunch, and flavored with garlic and some special seasoning. The plate also comes with two egg rolls, some salad, and really well-made crispy chicken that’s glazed in an almost sweet honey sauce. The only downside to the plate is that it is pretty heavy food, and you may hate yourself afterwards for eating it. I would suggest splitting the plate with someone to avoid the feeling of your arteries clogging. Also, they sometimes add too much of the sweet chicken sauce, which seeps into the rice. It’s delicious, but I love the rice plain by itself. But overall, fantastic dining experience(especially for drunchies)!

First timer tried this place today. Ordered hubby the flip’n’patty, and I got myself an order of flip’n’fries with chicken. The staff were lovely, friendly and patient while I hmmm-ed and haaaa-ed over their menu. $ 19 later, bare in mind it’s gourmet burgers, grass fed beef and it doesn’t seem quite so expensive. Hubby loved his burger, said it was delicious. I tried a little bite of the pattie and it was tender, full of flavour and delicious. It was also huge! My fries were good, the fries weren’t as hot as i’d like though, they were crunchy and nice, the portion was plentiful, the chicken was good quality, tasty, and the spicy sauce made my nose run. Expats — think of this as a spicy chicken chip kebab. Better than many of the burger places we have been to.

Was already in my F%@#$ a diet zone, headed back to the office after picking up lunch order when I rolled by this truck at Mangum Food Park. I’d been wanting to try them out & figured why not add a few more calories :-P I was greeted upon walk up & I could smell the goodness going on. I noticed this truck looks exceptionally clean; not grungy looking how they can some times be. The fire under that wok was kickin & the smells coming from the truck had me at hello! Since the office went for burgers, I figured we could share the pork Flip n Fries. The order was still piping hot by the time I made it back to the office. The portion was huge. Definitely worth the $ 8& can easily be shared. OMG them thangs were deeeeeelish! The fries themselves reminded me of how my grandmother would make us fresh cut fries when we’d have burgers. Tasted like they’d just peeled the taters for my order & didn’t have that«old burnt grease» taste. The siracha/mayo whatever combo was perfect. It was spicy, but also had flavor. Not one of those sauces that’s just hot for the hell of being hot. Really liked the fresh cilantro & perfect amount of cheese sprinkled on top. I will def be giving this truck another shot when I catch up with it.
