While the training is unbelievable, the fact that he disappeared for almost a month with no communication has made it challenging. I received a message from his girlfriend, after Ryan no-showed for a class, claiming to be his assistant, who said that he had an emergency. Apparently his emergency was a vacation in Austin. I was told that I would hear from him when he returned. I still haven’t heard from him. Just be aware of his inconsistency. Before giving him your credit card information, because from what I have heard, he won’t give you a refund, and will continue to draft, even after you have requested a cancellation. See Below Message: NOV13TH, 10:01AM Ryan: Class is cancelled until further notice. But please keep enjoying our posts on focus fitness facebook page and website. Ryan: Yeah he had an emergency and won’t be back until further notice. But he will definitely respond to you when he gets back Me: Perfect. Thank you NOV23RD, 3:33PM Hey Ryan, have you made it back yet? I hope that everything is okay? Chat Conversation End

Honestly the best training I’ve ever had. Ryan is very willing to work with you and adhere to your schedule or special needs. I’ve been training with Ryan for only a week and I’ve seen a difference in my body, like how ridiculous is that. The other gym-goers attending FF are a fun group as well. You will activate muscles you didn’t know you had while you’re basically just having fun with an energetic and charismatic trainer.

Firstly, I’d love to say how psyched I am to begin training with Focus Fitness Houston. I have been planning to begin training with Ryan who leads this exercise group since the summer and he has been consistent over time about me joining. Finally, I joined yesterday. I love how there are lots of class times throughout the week, which is extremely helpful since I am a working high school student. I was able to attend his 5AM class yesterday and got a hell of a workout! Let me tell you, i was capable of doing more then I thought through this first session. I am really looking forward to the results & I expect many from the look of the testimonials I’ve heard of. If you’re looking to push your limits, and see what your are capable of over time, calisthenics are for you!

Updated: I went to Focus Fitness workouts from the last week of October 2014 — end of January 2015. I started with Ryan and could hardly do a sit up or a real pushup, and liked to attempt to do handstands. Fast forward and I could do not quite endless sit ups, but quite a few, 15 – 20 push ups without wimping out, and squats galore. Ryan is incredibly fit and flexible, and wants you to be the same. He talked me out of talking negatively about my body and celebrated my small achievements. He made working out fun. He has a great sense of humor, but when you want to see results and need nutrition help he just tells you to eat less and workout more. Not exactly insightful. I paid more for barre method classes and saw fewer results and received less attention in class. Ryan’s classes are mostly less than 5 people per session, so it’s like discounted personal training. However, it’s at a free workout area in Memorial Park. So there’s no privacy, no special equipment(you share with the general public), and if the weather’s bad there’s no class, and no makeups. I also had issues with billing after I decided not to continue with his classes. I had to delete the credit card I had on file so I wouldn’t automatically get charged! It was only then that was when I was contacted — when the money stopped coming. Ryan’s classes are good for a short while, but I’ve noticed that no one that I worked out with(then myself) really stay with his ‘program’ after a few months.

Through my life I have had tons of expensive private trainers. Yoga, gym, boot camps, run clubs, etc. included. Not being able to afford such luxuries at the moment, I hit the gym on my own taking what I knew. But as the world works, law of attraction was on my side, and I met Ryan. At a pool party with his abs sparkling from the reflection of the water, I struck up a conversation with him seeing as we at least had more in common than the other lazy beer guzzling people around. He was laid back, respectable, and did not even mention focus fitness until much later in the conversation. I was so interested in what he had to say, I was the one that inquired about checking out the class. The first class was complimentary. Yeah there where other people there but it was like having your own personal trainer. Over a month went by and things I could not do at all before, I was actually doing with fair ease. He helped me set small goals, my clothes fit better, gave me dietary suggestions, and was a positive happy person all around and that really rubs off. Tragedy struck and I injured myself alone at the gym, I stopped going to class. Ryan did not give up on me though. It was not about the money, I had seen it with his interaction with other people before, he truly loves to help people. He shared knowledge and small exercises I could do to heal and while healing. He also shared people and places that catapulted and changed my life for better forever. I never shared my gratitude with him but I am doing it now. As my injury is almost to full recovery, you will be seeing me back in these classes! Though I am a beginner I love the challenge of all the advanced moves that he does and continues to work on. It’s also motivating when advanced people come to learn from him and practice with him.

I have joined the program 2 weeks ago and so far I’m enjoying a lot. It’s the only calisthenic program in Houston. His method is really good!!! I was really tired of lift weights and I got the conclusion that calisthenics may be more beneficial in the long run. I want to be toned, flexible, have outstanding core strength, great endurance, and be able to maintain it, in other words, I want to «look great naked». That’s the purpose of the program. What are you waiting for?

This is guy is a JOKE. Extremely unprofessional — it’s almost laughable. I’ve pulled my muscles three times now attending his classes. He was late several times and completely missed some sessions. He does not know as much about fitness as he claims. He taught a «yoga» class one time and didn’t know what any of the positions were called. I’m not sure why I kept going for so long… You’re better off spending the money on a gym membership.

Ryan is a fantastic trainer. I have been training with Ryan at Focus Fitness for 3 months now, and have had a very positive experience. I am losing clothing sizes faster than I can buy replacement clothing! He has helped me with my nutrition and gave me the blueprints to my success. I can’t thank him enough and recommend him to everyone I know!
