Great food and service everything came out«Hot and Quick«maybe a 10 minute wait for entrees, of that. Camille was very attentive to our ordering needs. I will definitely come back again.

Girl’s Night Out with my Bestie and we are both craving a bit of Louisiana flavor.(‘Cause that’s the other border that we Texans like to make a run for…) Ask to be seated in Camille’s section. She is awesome! She was attentive, friendly, cool and gave us great suggestions about the menu.(Thanks for the tip about going Felix style!) We both started with a Hurricane. Mmm, fruity rum deliciousness. And for only $ 5? Really?!(Note to self… bring a DD next visit.) Bestie started with gumbo and we shared an order of the boudin balls. Bestie reported that the gumbo was okay, thinner than what we generally like, but with a good flavor. Boudin balls with the Alligator sauce for dipping? Uh, yes please! Some other ladies seated near us were tucking in to some very beautiful looking crawfish so I had to order those. And yes, you do want to go Felix style. Spicy, buttery, citrusy, hell ya kind of seasoning. The crawfish really didn’t need anything else other than the Felix treatment, but some of that Alligator sauce still managed to find its way onto those tasty little tails anyway. Bestie had the shrimp Orleans pasta and it looked very tasty. I may have to try that next time if I can resist the siren’s song of those crawfish.

Great neighborhood Cajun Restaurant. Good food and service. Delicious crab and corn bisque. You gotta check it out. $ 5 Hurricanes are great!

I come here when I miss home food. Gumbo is on point. Poboy is tasty. The red beans and rice are good too. I did come early on a Sunday to try the beignets too. It is not exactly what I am used to but then no one else in Houston serves it.

The most and disgusting and awful Cajun food I have ever tasted. They should be ashamed

I’ve eaten here several times and the food has just been average. I wish I could give them more stars since you’re close by but unfortunately just plain average

Boudin ball’s are amazing but everything else is bland. Shrimp tastes very fishy. My husband enjoyed the fried catfish and twice baked potato. If you are a true lover of Cajun food like I am don’t waste your money. Service isn’t that great either. The place isn’t packed and it took forever for us to get our food. Take my word for it and try other Cajun restaurants.

Service is terrible. The place was not even packed(never is) and we had to wait long for food and to get drinks. The food was ok kinda bland. Crawfish here is terrible, my wife got sick after eating. Will not be back or recommend.

Excellent food and service! The ribeye with Vermillion sauce was delicious! Sadly, the crab fingers are no longer on the menu so we had the crawfish tail appetizer. The server went and asked and they do still have those tasty crab fingers. If that is the case then, they should still be on the menu. That was odd. Used a Groupon and had a great meal on the cheap.

Had the chicken and sausage gumbo. It was nice to have a feel of Louisiana in my belly. Finished it up with red beans and rice. With a Bloody Mary on the side. It was a perfect Sunday meal, I sat sat in the bar area which is enclosed away from the restaurant which I liked… Gave me a chance to catch up on my emails and watch football at the same time. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

The first few times I visited the food was mediocre and service was lukewarm. Today was completely different. Every bite was delicious! Our server was awesome and I look forward to returning. What a difference a day makes right?

Got the Redfish entrée under the Chef’s Special and my oh my it was so delicious! I’m also a sucker for fried mushrooms and this place has been on my top list for that as well. I also had their bread pudding as a free dessert with the check in on here and it was a bit different than other bread puddings I’ve tried but it was a good different. Be careful though because it’s super hot that I almost burned my tongue. Will be coming here again though to try other dishes.

Food was good and atmosphere was great. We had oysters, gumbo, Cajun platter, pasta with shrimp and scallops as well as snickers cheesecake. Hurricane each for only $ 5… We will be returning !!!

This food is pretty good depending on what you order. I would say stick with the fried seafood. Great value and tasty. Hurricanes are potent, but not pat obrien’s by any stretch; reminded me more of a sunrise… too much OJ. I would say 3.5−3.75 stars, thus rounding up to make up for some of the harsh reviews.

Just ok! The alligator tail was okay. I didn’t eat it all. I also got the lunch seafood platter and I didn’t eat all of it. The waitress was nice and attentive. Maybe if I come back it will have to be for fresh fish. Nothing fried. I also got a free bread pudding thanks to Unilocal.Unfortunately the bread pudding was not good either

OMG… TASTYTASTY. That picture of the grilled seafood platter. Yea, that was my plate pre me devouring my lunch today. Anything grilled comes automatically with vegetables and I was able to sub roasted red potatoes over french fries! Now, because well eating might be one of my favorite past time, just get the Mamou Shrimp Dip. Creamy, Flavorful, ugh… and yes I totally skipped the tortilla chips and opted for the garlic bread for dipping.(Don’t judge me… I was feeding my inner glutton) So go. :end rant:

The food is really good and the service is great. The portion sizes are smaller than I expected, but it was delicious. The Hurricane is strong for what appears to be a house drink(no complaints) and do try the snickers cheesecake

Let start of by saying I’ve visited this restaurant about five years ago and loved everything about it. Now with that said, today’s experience was less than desirable. To start off I dined alone at about noon-thirty on a Tuesday. I waited at the hostess stand for about ten minutes. A couple walked in about a minute before someone appeared. I promptly asked for a table for one. The hostess dressed in a sheer blue/green patterned synthetic top, black slacks with a very short cropped haircut turned to the couple behind me and asked if I was here before them. Her tone was enough for me to take offense. My drink order was promptly taken and I applaud them for having Saint Arnold beer, a brewery local to Houston(I had two). They were nice and cold. I ordered a bowl of shrimp gumbo and crawfish etoufee. A different server brought out some garlic bread. The bread reminded me of the garlic bread that can be bought at any grocery store and popped in the oven for ten minutes. Next was brought out an empty bowl with a couple of green onion slices. The waitress had with her what appeared to be the aluminum coffee creamer mini pitcher you find at a breakfast restaurant. She poured a very watery brown broth with what appeared to be precooked frozen shrimp. This is the gumbo? It made me think of beef bouillon with the small frozen shrimp you could once again buy at any grocery store. The flavor was very bland with no depth whatsoever. At least the rice was fully cooked. Next came the etoufee. This was a bowl of the same size a as the gumbo bowl. The etoufee was a gray thick almost congealed concoction. It did appeared to have real crawfish tails in it. The etoufee did have some flavor to it but it was the Louisiana hot sauce that saved the entrée. After being this disappointed I knew I had to write a Unilocal review. So I log on to the mobile app and lo and behold there was a coupon for a free dessert. I ordered the creamy cheesecake with rum banana foster. I felt embarrassed for this restaurant when it was brought out. The cheese cake although moist fell apart while I tried to get some on my spoon. The banana foster was made I don’t know how long ago. The bananas were an unrecognizable mush.(See picture). I am a trooper and believe in trying to give anything every opportunity to wow me. The picture was taken at the very last moment before I began to feel nauseated. I can tell you banana baby food tastes better. For two Saint Arnold’s, a lunch shrimp gumbo, a lunch etoufee and a free dessert ended up costing $ 26.20. Very disappointing. The only reason I’m giving two stars is for them stocking a local beer. I will not be returning.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon 2 place a to-go order. I walked to the bar area where it was enclosed(due to cigarette smokers) but nice size area. I glanced the food and drink menu for a while as there were so many good-sounding options. I ended up ordering an Alabama Slammer(drink) along with a cup of seafood gumbo and boudain balls(6 count). The drink was OK and the food was good but mediocre as well. The bartender(Trish) was very nice! You can tell she has a good reputation and great relationship with her regular customers. She also gave us complimentary daiquiris(as she was cleaning out her machine). They have 2 – 3 Tvs and there were a few groups of ppl watching the football game. Quiet, chill environment. I’d definitely return.
