Totally love their Fajita salad! Great quality food and reasonably priced! Great mesquite burgers and chicken sandwiches. I will drive out of my area to eat here!

Friendly is an understatement. Every time I walk in here, the employees are so boisterous and friendly — I really appreciate the good attitude they have. The food is also great, and they have a big assortment of things to choose from. Salads, American, Mexican, etc. They also have a bar, and it’s a fun place to hang out with tv’s and a great, casual atmosphere. So happy to have Jax in our neighborhood!

I was just here for a happy hour and I wasn’t paying so keep that in mind while reading. The chips and salsa were alright and the queso is pretty good. I tried a flavored Margarita which is a frozen Margarita with flavoring at the bottom. That just seems odd, but once I stirred it together it was alright. I also tried the frozen hurricane which doesn’t taste like much of anything, so perhaps good for some, but it doesn’t live up to what I’ve had at Pat O’Brians. The outside patio in the back is nice, but the interior is rather boring. I’m not rushing back, but I’m not writing it off either.

What can I say about this place… umm its terrible. My salad was soggy and wet, my grill fish was cold, with a huge piece of watermelon on top(still confused about that concept). Because my meal sucked I order some onion rings and they were decent. Won’t be returning.

Drove from Pearland to watch the Texans game, which I called ahead and was told would be shown… spent over $ 50 for meal and drinks… game wasn’t shown. Several flat screen TVs throughout the restaurant but all are set to 1 channel. Got a refund on my money and Didn’t get a chance to try the food. Martha the manager needs a course on customer service. Doubt I will come back while she is on duty.

Called ahead to see if they were showing the Texans game. Was told yes. Drove all the way there FROM Pearland. Ordered the food to the tune of $ 50. Sat down only to find they were showing the Astros. Asked to speak to manager. Martha appeared unapologetically and told us she’d refund the money. Never again. Customer service sucks.

Amazing variety of American food, plus some unique items typical of other cultures. Their burgers and chicken fried steak can’t be beat for their cheap price. They also have gyros, enchiladas, Reuben sandwiches, and a variety of other daily specials. The bar is reasonably priced if you stick to beer. The inside can get loud, but during the summer it’s better than the patio, even with their patio screens and fans. During the spring, fall, and winter, the patio can be a great option.

Jax has always been my go to place for a good burger, always has been cooked properly to the temperature I requested, and has consistently maintained the same level of quality and taste. This place is absolutely affordable and very fast, the ideal place to go if you only have 30 Minutes to take for a lunch break . I read that other reviewers mentioned the sight of a roach… they have an open patio… what do you expect, also this is the only insect we have not found a way to kill properly, I pay for pest control at my house and low and behold I still find our dear friend the roach, it’s Texas people, if the state bird was the state anything it would be the roach for us and every state. So stop acting like not seeing one means there aren’t any, that just means they have better hiding places or the staff have really fast hands.

I have heard some good things about Jax Grill, but I’m guessing this place is just not for me. The environment was very crowded and loud. It seemed as if an older male club was having a conference there because every table was filled with groups of older men. I had a cheeseburger, but it was super plain and fell flat for me. The fries were shoestring style, but not crispy enough. You order at the front then wait for your order number to be called. There is no wait staff. They have the fountain drinks out so you can fill your own beverage. It took about 10 minutes for them to call my number. The place was clean enough but the décor had more of an old garage bar vibe. You’ll love this place if you like that sort of thing.

I love this place. I have been going here since 2005, and the consistency is real. The food comes straight off the grill, and it’s fresh and hot. It doesn’t take long to place, or get an order fulfilled. The price are reasonable, you can get a nice meal for under $ 10.00 and it’s a nice portion size. Friday and Saturday is the day to come, when it comes to having a great time. Zydeco bands play on Friday and Saturday, and they are awesome. It’s really a big olé party, so bring your dancing shoes. The place has TV’s hanging around, so it’s a great place to watch a game. There is a lot of seating, and the patio is cool! There is also a private room if you want to book it for a party. The crowd is nice, and down to earth. In a nut shell… it isn’t the hood, or Hollywood but it’s everything awesome inbetween!

Love the food, the prices and the music. It gets really crowded so get there early. Zydeco fans love this spot and it’s a great place to bring your tourist family and friends for an authentic southern experience. I always order the catfish platter and I’ve seen others order the fried shrimp platter and chicken fried steak meal. Either option you won’t go wrong. The drinks could be better that would be my biggest criticism. Too bad I never have room for dessert but they look pretty good.

Love it great food and I love Zydeco. I can’t dance it but I try but I really enjoy myself here. A family restaurant I take my daughter when I go and we dance together. Food is inexpensive nothing over $ 15 I believe. Arrive early parking limited or you will have to pay. Over all I go all the time just to listen to zydeco.

Attended a party in the«party room» when a ROACH crawled from under the table by the cake. Thank God I didn’t eat or drink anything.

I live right down the street from Jax, but it’s not my go to spot. Met some former coworkers here for lunch last weekend and we definitely appreciated the ability to eat and socialize without the pressure to vacate the premises as soon as we finished eating. I am a turkey burger connoisseur and I’m sorry to say theirs just are not good. But in reality, not sure if I even expected some mind-blowing culinary experience. But I will say the steamed veggies were actually really good. Does that put things in perspective?

A Houston gem! Order up front, take a seat, and enjoy this laid back spot for locals. No better place to hang with friends and catch the game. Parking: LOTS of it out back Television: They have a screen and several others spread out Seating: Ample indoor, outdoor, and private seating available for parties Food: Burgers and gyros are great! It’s not health food, but it’s alright in moderation. :) Plus they have Big Red. Staff: Very friendly and helpful, willing to meet needs of customers

Jax is known for their Zydeco Friday nights — which is more of a bar and dance joint rather than a restaurant. Great music, great drinks. But recently on several return visits to Houston, I was taken there by a fellow local Unilocaler Tyson R. to try their mesquite grilled dishes. I had never even noticed that this Jax served food before because I always went straight to the bar and dance floor from the back entry. Having lived in San Diego for over 6 years now, I really miss the Mesquite flavor that’s ever-so-abundant in Houston. It”s a flavor you become accustomed to after being there for a while and the flavor gets a little underappreciated. Jax gets it right! On the last three visits I tried the grilled pork chops, a burger, grilled ribeye and a sampling of a grilled T-Bone steak. The seasoning and taste was great for all of those entrees, but I was surprised at how thin the ribeye was. The T-Bone was much better in terms of steaks. On one occasion, I was with my sister who had a caesar salad with grilled chicken. It looked really good and she said she liked it, but couldn’t finish it all because of the size of it. I would expect anything that makes it passed that mesquite grill of theirs to be awesome. As far as a drink tip, I prefer sweet strong drinks — I prefer to feel the alcohol and not taste it much. I’ve always had the frozen drinks at Jax and they’ve always gone down well(not without a brain freeze or three) and with a much welcomed delayed after-kick™. These always seem extra cold for some reason, so I would advise to let that first drink melt completely before you order another one.
