NEVERAGAIN! Unilocal read that it was open on Saturday at 11am. So excited for their pizza. Showed up Saturday around noon. There was a sign in the window that read«Will open Sunday at 1pm». Disappointed but planned to return Sunday at 1 pm. One more day wasn’t too long to wait for my favorite pizza in town. Showed up Sunday at 1 pm, was given a menu by the bartender, ordered and served my beer, and ordered homemade chips to start. That’s when I was informed to my deepest disappointment that the kitchen didn’t open ’till 3pm. Welp. That was it for me. I paid for the beer I didn’t touch and walked out. . for good.

A friend and I decided to come here for a low-key Saturday night. We were promptly greeted and ordered some drinks. The bartenders were attentive and friendly– they were also having a promotional– free Jameson! After noticing that everyone seemed to be ordering pizzas we caved and ordered the veggie one. The pizza was good! This is a great place to watch sports, get some good pizza, and just hang out without a loud crowd. I’ll definitely be back.

My favorite neighborhood bar. My BF and I come here whenever we want to go out, but aren’t in the mood to deal with the crowds. This place is a great spot to watch games(especially if you are a Chicago fan). The bartenders make perfect drinks and are always very attentive. I’ve never felt like I was waiting too long for another drink. Do yourself a favor and order a pizza too! :)

Service was awesome… $ 5 for a small pint of draft Guinness. Bottle beer appeared to be $ 2.50…draft is usually cheaper than bottled.

Pizza was very good — thin crust. The lady asked if I wanted my old fashioned in a martini glass, never heard of that before… also it was served with crushed ice instead of a proper cube. The building was very empty feeling. I’d come back for the pizza.

I’ve been wanting to come here for the longest time and finally was able to go randomly today to try the pizza. We ordered the hangover pizza which consisted of a lot of meat and jalapeños. It was thin crust pizza so of course you can devour the whole thing. I’ll be happy to come back when it’s more packed to see that atmosphere, but for now I’ll judge it based on the pizza which was amazing

Found this place in April and was able to see the Blackhawks playoff game and have a delicious Chicago style thin crust just like home! We’ve been coming back ever since and LOVE it here! The people, food and atmosphere is great! Feels like we’re in Chicago every time… except way better prices!

Stopped in because I read in two different articles this place had good pizza. Tasted like a pizza my mother would have made, and she was not the best at making a good pizza. The ingredients are fresh, so that is a start. But the sauce, cheese, nothing stands out. Simply a bar pizza. It was not over priced, so it had that going for it. But I doubt I will ever step back into this bar. They did not give me a reason to.

I stopped by here the other night… first time as a post drinking experience. We picked up a couple late night pizzas to go. Just what the drunkard ordered! Good selection and very tasty. If you are coming for the drinks, its awesome. A good solid Irish pub, with some random games, and food in case you are hungry. Parking is decent. What more reason do you need?

Had a blast hear last night. Irish car bombs were good, as well as their mini corn dogs. Cool chill bar.

Been coming here for YEARS(20+) and have always had the best service and experience. Not to mention the pizza is my favorite in town. The patio is inviting, recent renovations have made the inside more open, and in general it’s just the best. Ever.

This isn’t your dad’s dive bar… Actually it just may be if your dad grew up near this side of town. It might not be aesthetic from the outside, but go on in and you’ll see an amazing atmosphere and great pizza. The staff is always phenomenal and they have a decent selection of beer. Their Irish Coffee is the best you’ll find. Definitely recommended for all types of people.

awesome place. Went with some old friends to get together after 26 years. It was perfect. The music is great. they have a jukebox where you can play any song from your phone. The food is good. The wings are amazing! and I love love the Irish nachos! its best to go on the week day. weekends tend to be a bit loud… so go during the week days it not as crowed. all in all its a pretty cool local hang-out.

We got the craving for pizza late one night and found this place on Unilocal! After checking out the reviews I was sold! Since it was already late, the crowd was pretty rowdy which I could care less about since we were about to have«the best pizza in Houston» pizza! Had a beer while we waited for our order which we didn’t have a problem getting even though it was a full house. Points for the service. Get home only to discover we would have been better off by stopping at CVS and grabbing a DiGiorno. The crust was soggy(and our pie didn’t have many toppings to weight it down). And lack flavor. It was nothing special. I was pretty disappointed since most of the reviews praised their pizza. Ok place to hang, but if you have your heart set on a mean slice, you’re out of luck

Awesome Irish bar, excellent food as well. Nothing better than a cold pint, or more with some deep dish pizza and a game of darts. The jukebox is great, and the employees treat you like family. Doesn’t hurt that they’re an Astros or Cubs bar, those being my two teams too. An institution on Shepherd, douche bags are rare here.

I am new to the bar scene. This was based only about the service and the food I received. I was here to meet my new Unilocal friends for a quick bite before a midnight movie. The parking wasn’t the issue. It was a sign to tell me the options. My SUV would definitely not going to fit in those spaces, nor simply driving around the building. Considered being one of the oldest bars in town, the layout of bathroom was awkward and not handicap-friendly. The uneven floor gave me a nostalgic feeling as in the countryside. I ordered mini corn dogs and Irish Nachos. Thanks to Rachel B. for introducing the key ingredient — potato, as the Irish stable. I would never know why these thinly sliced potatoes swimming in grease and layered with gooey cheese, jalapeño and cubed meat. The waiter was working hard without any help. I did not fault him for not bringing a napkin to wipe my greasy hands.

If you dropped«Irish» and«Pub» from the name, Ken’s Bar would be mediocre at best. I pulled in to Kenneally’s Irish Pub for a snack a little before 5PM. The evening rush was building, and the construction zone on Westheimer near S. Sheppard was already out of control. I figured … Irish Pub … maybe some Shepherd’s Pie or a lamb dish? I headed in. Other than a few patrons on the deck, no one was around. I walked around and eventually headed to the bar and pulled up a seat. A bartender showed up and greeted me with a «Whataya want?». I asked for a menu, and was handed their index card with a grunt. Another patron at the bar laughed. It’s a choice of pizza or corned beef. I ordered a black and tan and a Ruben sandwich. A beer was poured and placed in front of me. A plate showed up with a modest Ruben sandwich and chips. The sandwich and beer were fine. I ordered another black and tan, and finished the sandwich. I asked for the check and paid. It wasn’t bad, but there was nothing really good either. Except for the slightly loud music, it was almost blank. I was disappointed. Based on the name, I expected something completely different. If you delete the word«Irish» from the establishment’s name, and changed the word«Pub» to «Bar», it would be more accurate. To me, «Ken’s Bar» was a slightly overpriced dive. Perhaps it improves in the evening. I’ll never know.

The old stand bye. Whenever there is an argument over where we are gonna get our late night Houston snack, it seems the independent arbitrator that is me can always broker a deal Jimmy Carter style between all sides with just one word… Kennealley’s flipping pizza. Nuf said. It rocked again.

An institution in Houston, and started in 83. Hey, that is the same year I was born. Awesome, 30 years of a very fun pub with good grub. A nice patio out front, inside is dark. A few dart boards, and island wood bar. Low and high top tables scattered around the perimeter. Great brewainia on the wall. Stuff I would kill to have in my man cave. If you don’t like dark and quiet pubs go somewhere else. The last time I visited, there was a group of early 20 somethings that said«OMG, this place is too quiet.» Go back to Midtown or Washington then. If you can’t enjoy the company of the people around you without crappy bounce music and bright lights, this is not the place for you. Anyway, a handful of taps. Mostly macros, but two are for Saint Arnold and Karback. That is all I ask of a place. Just a little variety. See, I am not a complete beer snob. Service is always attentive, friendly, and down to earth. They have a tiny menu. Pizza, a few apps, and a few sandwiches. Though all is freshly made and very good. The pizza is the main show, though don’t pass up the corn beef if you get a chance. Thin crust Chicago style pizza? Hell yes. Freshly made crust and sauce. The crust is very crispy and flavorful. Good quality sausage, and fresh mushrooms. Not that crap from a can. Very well done. Awesome pub atmosphere, check. A few good beers on tap, and a nicely stocked bar check. Good food made fresh everyday, check. Whats not to like? A great friendly and down to earth spot. Check it out.
