i loved this place way better than Genghis Grill. and now it’s closed :(couldn’t frequent this place so much ever since i moved away from the area but i always craved this place. first, much more fresh variety than Genghis Grill. Second, the atmosphere was more inviting and cleaner than Genghis Grill. Third, it doesn’t attract a lot of trashy ghetto people like Genghis Grill. Fourth, this place had a better drink and side menus. it was kind of inevitable that bussiness was struggling since this place looks empty most of the time. oh, well. RIP

I wasn’t much a fan of Mongolian grill joints but was happy to be introduced to Kublai Khan by a friend a few months ago since the food here was fresh and the options were plentiful and healthy. I guess you can only blame yourself if your stir-fry mix doesn’t taste good, but with great ingredients its harder to go wrong! But just went tonight with a friend from out of town and was shocked to see it closed. At least seemed that way, the landlord had posted a notice that they didn’t pay their rent and the restaurant was empty of everything(chairs and tables gone)! I don’t know if this is just a temporary set back but would call before heading over here just to be sure.

So I was inspired to check out Mongolian food after watching Marco Polo on Netflix and I started out with Ghengis Grill, but wanted to check out Kublai Khan instead. This place is similar in concept but fails in execution. I believe here it is sitdown instead of self serve, which is very odd to me. Why would you have a place where you’re basically getting up for everything yourself but have to wait for drinks and refills. The bowls only come in once size or you can add a little bit extra for unlimited. But one bowl is plenty. After visiting ghengis grill were learned a few tricks and were able to stack our bowls up a little higher. I feel the sauce variety here wasn’t as flavorful either. The bowls ended up being much more bland. Also, their carb options were lackluster. Their noodle option here was no where near as good as Ghengis. I guess if you never been to the other one then you have nothing to compare against, but because I went to both so closely together it was a clear difference.

Good value for fresh cooked food. It may not taste good if you can’t balance oil/salt/spices yourself — they should offer a set menu.

Tasty Mongolian! Good selection of spices and sauces. I like the 12 or so different«proteins,» followed by a fantastic selection of veggies, then choice of rice, noodle/pasta. $ 12? Great value for dinner!

We went around 3 pm for a late lunch on a Friday. The 2 people who worked there didn’t seem to care as much abt customer service. They had only forks and no knives in the table. When I asked for a knife the guy got me one which was pretty unclean and it was conspicuous. The waiter had an air of arrogance. Never going back here. Food tasted below average.

Mr. Paulbear said it best: This place is the Trevor Ariza of Mongolian grills. Half the price, twice as nice. My only reservation is that I can’t exactly be a repeat customer, I mean, I could, but I don’t think my stomach could handle that quantity of meat. Great selection, great atmosphere, and surprisingly, there’s not a lot of people that know how awesome this place is.

This place is pleasant, but not up scale. I’ve eaten at cleaner and brights Mongolian style grills before. It’s quick and the staff has always been great. They are very attentive and will constantly refill your soft drinks energetically. They have an abundance of flavors. Thought first timers may be apprehensive, once you get used to the foods, spices and add on’s… You’ll be hooked. The price is low to average. But they do have a full bar!

This place has the potential to be really good. My too ken with it is that I only choose spices and ingredients I’m familiar with so the food tastes something like what I could have made at home. I want something new and different but I never know what spices to use and I won’t choose it. I wish I could just have them choose them for me based on a quick profile of what I like.

I love this place. Multiple food options. We have gone so many times and I still haven’t had the same dish twice. Sooo many combinations. The waitstaff are very friendly. The lunch special is very affordable.

This place needs to be busier! Far superior to Genghis Grill, less expensive, and a friendly staff! Unfortunately, I’ve never really seen this place when(if ever) busy… Seeing how hard working and skilled these folks are, I fear they won’t be open much longer with the business I’ve witnessed… Go enjoy a bowl… you’re missing out!

Very chill place for a fresh meal and food to fit any person’s taste. This is one of the higher end«Mongolian BBQ» places I’ve been to and still affordable($ 13 after tax and tip). First off they had a nice selection of meats including fish(fresh and delicious) shrimp and calamari along with your normal meats. Veggies were fresh and non-wilty! Loved the tofu, water chestnuts, mixed peppers and onions, broccoli! Sauces and spices were plenty! And you get like 5 choices of starch — udon, shanghai noodles, pad thai noodles, rice and roti/pita add ons for free! Food took a bit to come out but the waitress did come by to fill our drinks at the right time! High quality! Go eat!

The best part about this place you get to pick your own ingredients! You get to pick your protein, veggies, spices, and sauce. You put whatever you like in it. I had to go here a couple of times to get the hang of it and always ended up putting too many spices that it turned out bad. Now I limit myself and it turns out very good. I also always get their raspberry chimi for dessert and it is always great.

I really like this location. Good service and nice and quiet. They run regular drink specials. I really like their $ 4 margaritas. I also like that they serve salad and«chips» and soy dip, with your meal too. The other location I frequented never did this. Don’t know if it is just for this location or a new thing for all of them. I really love being able to come here and stack and stack veggies. Lots of options to choose from. I am a huge fan of mango, and I love that they have it as an option. I generally find adding to cups of sauce to my bowl is enough unless you like this light on the sauce. I am also more of a noodle fan than rice, and they have a few options to pick from. It is nice to be able to find a place that satisfies the meat and veggie eaters alike. They also offer a rewards program that is easy to sign up for.

The food was good quality for the price. It’s not any different than any of the other Mongolian places. The waiter service was poor. It took forever to get our check and pay. I might give it another try.

Great way to eat a somewhat healthy lunch. You can pick your meats, vegetables and spices in a buffet-like manner and the cooks will stir fry it for you. To save calories, I normally pass on any noodles or bread. The service is good and the restaurant has plenty of TVs that are always on ESPN! They also have a regular menu if you stir fry is not your thing.

I come here at least once every 2 weeks. Its hard to beat… its all raw food and they are just cooking it for you with the spices you ask. If it comes out bad… sorry, it was your fault! Anyway, the price is right if you learn how to stack. As a 5’3″ 130lb woman I can cram a bowl with food and eat for two meals. When it costs $ 9…that’s a great deal. Service seems to be slow during lunch but i guess that is to expected with the influx of workers coming in on their hour off. Final note — there are peanuts at the checkout counter(to the right of the order man) so leave room for that if you want it. And don’t be shy about trying flavors… if you don’t like the seasoning, get another bowl and try again.

The bowls I create are pretty hit or miss, but the thing I like best is that you can pack enough food in there to get 3 or 4 meals out of it. I am on a no dairy, no processed diet right now so I can put a TON of chicken, steak, and vegetables in there and have dinner for a few days. I didn’t realize until a few visits in that the menu has guides so you can follow a recipe and not end up putting in 5 spices and sauces that don’t go together. I will probably do that next time.

Love the mix your own stir fry! Have eaten here 3 times and loved it every time. You can control the amount of oil, spices and ingredients. I love my stir fry thick with meat and noodles, some veggies, and hot enought to burn at both ends! I leave sweating every time.
