The nightclub is a fucking joke. First of all the bouncers are assholes to anyone that even looks at the weird and they are inconsiderate assholes even you do what they ask.

Been here a two/three times because a few friends wanted to check this place out. There’s always a long line with a bunch of 18 year olds wanting to party. Good luck getting in unless you want to grease the doorman(not worth it) and then paying the cover charge. I usually just hang out at Barbarella right across the street from this place and I’ve seen plenty of fights/brawls that started at Limelight and on to the street. It’s your typical young guys trying to show their Dominance to their ladies friend by being aggressive to other male human being trying to be friendly to their female friends who had put them in the friend zone. You know? The things that young male adult wannabes do? The last time I was here, I could barely move inside the club. Like literally ass to ass, chest to chest, arms to arms packed with no wiggle room. Some girl kept yelling at my friend to stop pushing her when he literally was just standing being there being pushed by the crowd. Will. Not. Be. Back. Hopefully.

The music is fairly decent for an after hour club but the crowd is a bit on the sketchy side. Oh well, guess you’ll have to settle what is available when you just want to continue to feel the beats till the wee hours of the night.

I’ve been coming here for a while now, but over the years it seems to be getting more and more… Ratchet. Lol I hate that word, but I feel it’s necessary in this context. I get that the club can’t control people’s actions, but it was just annoying how I see fights break out randomly! Got a drink poured on me because I happened to be standing behind the girl that started a fight! Also, I couldn’t go to the restroom without men yanking my arms or spanking me on my way there and following me out! I know that can’t really be controlled, but security could totally keep the guys away from surrounding the women’s restroom. And they also shouldn’t allow mosh pits on that dance floor, lol there is no room for that! Besides all that though, I have fun every time I go no matter what, I’ve never had a bad time! Also, they’ve been bringing in some really good DJs on electric Friday’s lately! But if you’re just looking to have a good time, then this place is really a lot of fun, but just be safe and watch your back and drinks! :)

I came to limelight hoping to have a good time and for the most part… it was a total let down. I went on a Friday and the club was basically empty. To top it off, the highlight of the night was when I noticed the bartender MIKE was over charging me for drinks. He was taking his tip off of the sale of drinks!!! I asked him for a receipt and he refused. I asked him for a refund and he said that he didn’t know how to do refunds on the cash register. The guy was a complete menace and shouldn’t be allowed to bartend. Because guaranteed if he’s stealing money from customers then he is more than likely coming up short on his register. The bouncer at the front was nice enough to refund the money that MIKE stole from me and that is why this review got 2 stars. I won’t be back! Oh! And by the way… I saw MIKE giving out free shots of the businesses alcohol to friends and he was drinking on the job!

This place is very unsafe for people. you will see lot of fight, pickpocket and some badass in the club. This club is situation is very measurable. They gonna charge you 20 bucks for entry and then it get so crowded that you will feel suffocated. I saw lot of cops entered in the club, when fight erupted. Be careful with your stuff from pickpockets. When I came outside the club there was a police van and I got surprised when in 10 minutes more then 6 – 7 people came out complaining his volet was stolen and he was manhandled in the club.

Worst experience ever my friend who looks and is older than 18 forgot her id and they didnt let us in we had to leave. Also i was going to ask how much the parking lot was and when they answered 20 $ i couldnt go back or reverse because there were cars behind me so i had to pay i had no choice. When we left The parking guy gave me 10 $ out of 20 $ back because i explained to him that i live far from there and he knew i had bearly gotten there.!! 20 $ is also alot for reagular parking they charge more for the VIP area. Dont go there !!!

Would seriously give NO stars if Unilocal allowed. Let me explain, the club scene in Houston is very miserable! There’s not many options compared to other big cities such as NYC, LA, and Miami. Literally all of Houston comes here because of that. It becomes very crowded,… Crowded is actually an understatement. It’s body-to-body, sweat molecules to another random person’s sweat. The crowd itself is very seedy, very thuggish If you step on anyone’s shoes male or female I seriously recommend you apologize like your life is over or they will start an issue. For my people who love to dress up when they go out like me; don’t bother for this place. Guns and all out brawls are typical here every weekend, I’m not even joking. Check the hashtag # on Instagram. Drinks are seriously watered down and bartenders will play games with your card.

Not from Houston, decided to check this place out. The club itself inside is smaller than I expected but still a good time. Ladies, wear heels! The guy at the door wasn’t happy I was wearing really nice dress-flats, only to walk in and see a girl wearing flip-flops. Cover wasn’t to bad and drinks were okay. Kirko Bangz showed up so the crowd was a bit more fun. Still had a great time none the less!

Cheap bottle service — two bottles with 3 mixers for around $ 370, including gratuity. Tables are first come first choice. Get there early, pick a good section. For the most part, it has a casual dress code. Don’t wear your Loubs here! The floors are sticky and you will trip and be trampled by the crowds! Everyone smells like BO. Shower when you get home!!! I felt like everyone was 18. After 2AM, you’ll see the older crowds. Definitely great people watching!!!

we were inside for like thirty minutes and kept having to move because of fistfights breaking out by us. as we were leaving and getting into our cab gunshots started being fired around us. the cab driver screamed at us to get inside and we jumped in and took off. also i bought a pizza in the parking lot from some random guy and it was literally made of cardboard.

Based on the reviews for limelight I was nervous coming here, but it wasn’t bad. My friends and I got bottle service for 8 people(2 bottles, ~50 $ a person). One of the cheaper places to get bottle service in Houston. We were visiting for a concert where the artist didn’t come on until 1AM. I’m used to DJs coming on later, so that was fine but one thing we didn’t know was when 2AM rolls around they take the bottle. So get there early and drink it before 2. The bathrooms are kinda small but realistically it wasn’t that bad for what we paid. If you don’t get bottle service this venue can be expensive. It’s also quite small with strange cages to dance in. Cover is usually 10 $ and drinks are about the same. I would compare this venue to Stereo Live off Richmond Ave. Stereo Live is MUCH better. So if you’re new to the area try that one out first before coming here.

Limelight is a great alternative to Stereo Live. It is smaller and more intimate. You can get up close with the DJs. The drinks are cheaper than Stereo and the staff is laid back and don’t abuse you like they can do at Stereo. It is a great place to go and listen to EDM music. It stays open till 5am so it also is a great after hours club.

THEBASICS: – Ear-splittingly loud, current rap music(especially Southern & Houston rap) – CROWDED — touchy-feely guys, girls looking for an excuse to go wild – Cages for whoever wants to climb up and dance in them – Performers, DJs, and Go-Go dancers on an elevated stage – ‘Warehouse’ meets glow-sticks atmosphere; multiple bars; two floors – Small tables but nothing fancy; mostly a place for standing or roaming – ID check at first door, cover charge at second THEEXPERIENCE: From the moment you step through the preliminary doors, the whole building rumbles beneath your feet with the thumping bass of dance music. The walls are like corrugated metal, the girls glitzed up in their wildest gear, the guys scanning the line up to the secondary entrance(after paying cover) with obvious hunger. The air is cold, smells like marijuana, and pulses with adrenaline. If you are looking for a night to shed your corporate or ‘respectable citizen’ skin, you’re in the right place. It’s like everyone is dressed up to live their ultimate fantasies, and you are too — call it ratchet if you must, or if you’re in the right place, call it the total release of pent up sexuality. Inside, the club is rammed up like a squirming mass of sweating bodies. Boys reach out and touch your hand, touch your shoulder — subtle ways to attract your attention and see if you’re interested as you weave through the crowd. In my opinion, this is far less intrusive than in most clubs. There is no uncalled for touching, whether grazing of the chest or anywhere, well, below. Might I call that… club-respectful? But this is what you’d call a dirty joint. Not for its hygiene, but for its purpose. Big metal cages stud the dance floor inviting girls to jump up and live out fantasies in front of an ogling audience. Multiple girls shove up and rub against each other; they don’t know each other, but this is a performance. A few girls and guys dot the walls, lost in their own worlds as they passionately make-out. You can’t make out a word the person next to you is saying. It’s all out debauchery and that’s what you’d expect in a highly charged club full of sexually charged weekend animals. So what else would you expect? Don’t be surprised by the shady figures smoking weed at the borders, or a scantily clad girl ducking into your conversation, asking where to score ecstasy. I’ll put it out there — I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I’m a fairly straight-edge girl who was out with her boyfriend and a few other friends. So from what I experienced? You can take things as far as you want, and if you aren’t upset by other people’s choices(that don’t much affect yours) then you can push your night as far, or as little, as you want. Personally, I think it’s a club best in small(but potent) doses. Surprisingly, the night I went, there was a featured performer: «Trae Tha Truth.» I hail from NYC, so I don’t know much about the Houston rap scene on a micro level, but my local friends were shocked and excited. The cover charge wasn’t higher, and it was pretty quick to get in. From my perspective, that means Limelight has the potential to surprise you, any ordinary night. Overall, the music was perfect for dancing — all the top rap songs from 93.7 and 97.9(The BEAT and the BOX on Houston radio), and a few old school classics thrown in here and there. A few dancers were on the stage with Trae for a while. I’m not sure if they’re a typical feature. I was also told the club stays open until 6am, which is an anomaly in a city which shuts down at 2am almost universally. That is a major plus for me — no constantly checking my watch. I left before 2am anyways, but not because I was pressured out, or felt like I had to rush my evening. I loved it, but I’m done clubbing for another month or so. It’s a shot to the arm, and should only be taken in limited doses. FINALWORD: Want a night of heart pounding, wild, and judgment free debauchery? Head to Limelight and brace yourself for the intense energy mash of sex, sweat, and powerful music. It’ll knock you out and let you live if but a night without inhibitions.

Eeeek! Limelight, your last show was awful. I came here with a group to see HeRobust, and the sound system was terrible! There was clipping and distortion on the highs and vocals. Yikes. Everyone in my group had temporary hearing loss/ringing ears for two days following. Wish I didn’t have to hear a great performer through such terrible speakers.

Dear Limelight, You are a dirty scumbag. You, Eventbrite, and Sticky Promotions came up with a plan to dupe all of Houston’s Iggy Azalea(semi)fans who walked a mile in their Louboutins hoping to see her on Saturday, August 16, 2014. I was really, really excited when I heard that Iggy was going to be in Houston for a(what I assumed to be) mini concert. I read all the fine print on the Eventbrite page where the tickets were being sold. It was a no-brainer, $ 20 plus a small service fee — DONE! The next day I found out that it was a signing or appearance. WHATTHE F. No where on the page did it say that. My friend sent me another page(not where you buy the tickets) that had«signing or appearance» greyed out. How convenient. I’m pretty sure this was a form of false advertisement, and false advertisement is illegal. Give me a refund, now. Attempting to comfort myself, I even remember thinking«well, maybe she’ll make an appearance and sing ONE song». The story gets even better. So on Saturday, IGGYDIDN’T EVENSHOWUPATLIMELIGHT!!! Apparently she was in Canada. I looked on the Evenbrite page today, clicked on «Past Events», and noticed Iggy’s name has been taken off. Scumbag move right there. I definitely want a refund now. And if you do too, call Eventbrite at(888) 810‑2063. Sincerely, Never Going Back EDIT /P. S. — Event Brite, Sticky, and Limelight never got back to me after many emails and calls. I ended up disputing the charge with Chase and got a refund! WOo!

If you’re younger than the age of 21 please don’t mind this review. For everyone else who actually has an opportunity to select which club/bar they go to. Why would you ever come here? Whhhyyyyy? Let me first say the music played here is pretty great for all types of dancing. But even for a dance-lover like me, the bad qualities here completely trumped the good music. For one, walking in, you feel like you just entered a high school house party. Tons of super young kids thrusting other young kids. At one point I felt something on my foot and saw a girl doing the cry baby on the dirty floor with a guy on top of her. Went upstairs to escape and felt like i was in someone’s old, musty basement. Peeling paint everywhere, dirty, stained carpet and torn apart couches. Even in a space that big I felt claustrophobic. When I was getting ready to leave and walking down the hallway with my girls, I got caught in between a fight between 2 large groups. Shoving, fists flying, I managed to escape but couldn’t leave the building. I looked outside and saw the two groups fighting outside while 3 police cars sped over, parking on the side walk and arresting a couple of people. Don’t be fooled by celebrity appearances. This place is a dump whether or not Chandler Parsons is there.

Worst club ever!!! I hope they get shut down soon. Irresponsible bouncers in the front. I went in with flip flops first time they didn’t notice. Exited and tried to come back in and a different guy wouldn’t let me in cause I had flip flips on. Who ever the manager or owner is needs new ppl out here. If they would have caught it the first time I would have saved me thirty dollars. Whack club. Hope it gets shut down too. The bouncers need to be fired. If you can’t even do your job right. I asked why you can’t where flip flops and he said because one girl wore flip flops tripped on glass and sued then. This makes no sense, half of these girls are wearing strap heels their feet is not covered, so how does wearing heels prevent you from tripping or getting another cut. So as I’m typing this I’m watching the bouncers flirt with girls so that the girls can get in and I’m seeing people slip him money so that they can get in. Get fired or I will do whatever it takes to get them in trouble. 30 min later I was still wearing flip flops and he let me in. Breaking rules? Tsk tsk.
