I had an appointment set up with Dr. Kenneth Berliner at 9 am and had taken the appointment 2 weeks prior. On the morning of the appointment, I came in a bit early; 830am and filled out my name on the entry form. I was ready to wait before I expected my name to be called out, which is usually 15 minutes before your appt., if you are a new patient(in order to fill out the patient form) or 5 minutes beforehand if you are a returning patient. In my case, I was a first time patient and wasn’t called out by 845 am. I waited a little while more, before finally walking up to the front desk at 855 am to tell them I had an appointment at 9 am and whether there was any paperwork needed to be done. It wasn’t until another 5 – 6 minutes till someone attended to me for that. A lady called Linda approached me and didn’t even know I had an appointment(appalling) — all this when someone called Enrique had already called me the day before to confirm the appt. She handed me a lengthy patient form to fill out and asked for the payment. After handing over the paperwork and making the payment, I had to wait a little while more before I was called in around 920 am. I was not very pleased by this point because of how disorganized the front desk staff was and how long I had to wait as opposed to a 9 am appointment time. By the time I had my vitals and x-ray take, it was already 950 am and I was made to wait in a room to see Dr. Kenneth Berliner. Around 952 am, to my surprise, I was greeted by Dr. Gabriel who introduced himself and started with the consultation when I asked«Am I going to be seeing Dr. Berliner today?» He very casually said«Oh he’s not in today!» I was shocked I was informed sooner to which he said they didn’t know that he won’t show up that day and he lied saying maybe something personal came up. Well if something personal came up, he would’ve know that he had a patient coming in at 9 am and would have definitely informed his staff to inform me this morning. Even if that was at 855 am, I would’ve know and even though it would’ve been last minute, I would understand that things happen. He then changed his statement and said«He usually comes in at 10 am.» and I then I thought then why give me an appointment at 9 am? it was all sounding like utter BS of an excuse for an incompetent, unprofessional doctor. But this whole shady team at the Lone Star Orthopedic put me through an x-ray, a urine same for pregnancy test, made me wait, only to send in another doctor? Really? This is the most appalling and unprofessional behaviour I have ever witnessed in a doctors office. What a waste of my precious time when I could’ve been simply informed that he won’t be in office today. But instead, they put me through all this thinking I might just settle in for another doctor, and go ahead with the consultation anyway. I was infuriated and asked for a full refund. Te office manager wasn’t willing me to give me the refund for the x-ray first but they did agree to refund me fully when I told them this is unacceptable and misleading behaviour. Please do yourselves a favour and find a premium, reputed orthopedic. The front desk is all over the place and aren’t helpful or don’t even know what’s going on for that matter. My experience was horrible and no patient should have to go through this.
