They hold onto your card and ID. If you forget it, it will be days before you can get it back. I also had a $ 15 bar tab charged for $ 50. They also told me they«didnt have a receipt». Pretty fun, very shady!

I was just there yesterday Friday(my2nd time) and it was Latin night. Top 40! A lot of Plan B, Nicky Jam, they payed some The Weeekend music & just a lot of hot and sexy music. The crowd starting arriving by 11:45pm. The parking sucks! But just park a few blocks away and it’s fine. Attire is classy. No Jordan’s or Tshirts. Drinks are okay price. This place is really cool, classy and chic! Will definitely visit again!

If you like EDM, this seems to be an okay club to go. I’ve only been here twice, both times for a friend’s birthday party. First time around, we just waltzed in because we came in a limo. Second time around, I had to pay $ 10 cover even though he had bottle service. However, after I got in, I was told nobody else paid cover. DUBYATEEEFF, hot blonde girl charging me cover?! No issue at the door with the bouncer, though. I came in a button down shirt with a nice pair of jeans and dress shoes. However, I did see a couple of guys in the club in t-shirts even though the dress code states that collard shirts are required. Drink prices pretty comparable to other clubs. They have a small dance floor, but no worries since nobody was really dancing. And this was on a Saturday night around midnight. They have a nice sized patio, a very lengthy, and good looking servers. Music is way loud so you really have to scream in each other’s ear to speak, or walk out to the patio. Will be back for another friend’s birthday, but not sure if I’d be back just because.

Lumen was great one of the best lounge night club in town. Very nice Vegas style décor with an awesome sound system. Loved it. It is full of energy and nice professional staff. Other than fri and sat they have thursdays and they play 80−90s music.

One of the best places to go on a Saturday night. The venue is beautiful and kept very clean. The crowd is full of young business professionals and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to go out. There is also a nice covered patio with a DJ and hookah service for you hookah lovers.

Great young atmosphere, but there are many negative things need to be changed. First, parking is very limited, and you need to get a valet for $ 10. Second, drinks are extremely expensive and light. Third, music speakers are extremely loud in some spots and extremely low in others. Fourth, bar area is very small and always busy.

Cons: valet fee $ 20 is a little too much. Along with cover of $ 10. Pros: Amanda is one of the bar tenders. She took great care of us yesterday. Good music, atmosphere, and drinks.

Decided to check it out when they brought in a DJ from New York. I rounded up a coworker and we made an evening out of it. Online everyone made a big deal about the line and how packed it got. So we broke down and got tickets, we showed up right at 10 and we were the only people in the bar for a good hour. The tickets were a waste of money there was no charge nor request for them. The club is seeking a Vegas vibe which is fun, but there are only servers for bottle service, and the markup on drinks is outrageous, my suggestion is to pregame. Example, $ 10 for a basic lemon drop. The house dj is good, great dancing. There are obviously regulars, and they all know each other, but by the end of the evening it didn’t matter, people had enough to drink and were friendly to everyone regardless of being«in their group». The guest DJ went on and was AMAZING. I got the feeling though people in Houston really don’t understand EDM or house music. There were a few there that did but other than that it was a typical club crowd just out for fun. We had a great evening, will go again, will likely not buy a drink there though.

We had a group of a sexy 8 for bday celebration and before we could even get inside they tell us we have to purchase a bottle which is $ 300. Are u effin kiddin me!!! Now we just left a bar where we did purchase a bottle but how dare u force me to purchase a bottle. I would never visit this place again. Get over yourself… We are in Houston, not some small suburb. There are plenty of places that will appreciate our money spent. Can I say F**k Off Lumen

I’d give them zero stars if I could. They wouldn’t honor a reservation we had when it was empty inside. Said the guy we corresponded with didn’t work there anymore, how convenient. Douchiest and most racist place I’ve ever been to. Never again.

I came here on Tuesday night, which is their industry night. I was with two other ppl(one guy and one girl) and it was around 11:30pm. There was no cover, and we had no trouble getting in. The music is really good if you like a mix of EDM and pop. On this night, it wasn’t as packed and there weren’t any go-go dancers(which there normally are), but the dance floor was busy and there were a good amount of people on the patio. We enjoyed a hookah on the patio for about $ 20. There is a bar inside and outside, making it easy to get drinks. I haven’t experienced any other place as hype on a Tuesday night, definitely a good time!

Recently moved here from NYC, we came to Lumen for my friends birthday this past saturday. I don’t know if I have a different lounge/club standard coming from NY nightlife, but we had a great time at this place. We had a reserved table all night with bottle service, the server was great and very attentive, she made all the guests drinks at the beginning which was a nice surprise. Nobody had trouble getting in, even guys who came much later in the night. The place never got crowded, the music was typical house, the opener and main DJ were great and kept the dance floor going. There’s an nice outdoor area for smokers, I’m still adjusting to the heat and humidity here so wasn’t outside too much but there was a bar outside as well. The crowd was also great, well dressed, well behaved. Only thing I could probably say was a negative was the bathroom attendant. Not necessary for a small club like that, and she stayed on her phone the entire time. I was concerned I didn’t have any bills to tip her, but in the end she didn’t even acknowledge I was in there. At least the bathrooms were clean. Will definitely be back on another house/trance night, our crowd is a fan of Lumen.

Do not be turned away from the outside. After walking in and being blown away by the trendy décor my group of girl friends got excellent service and the club was clean! Music was very good and everyone seamed to be dancing and having a good time! Staff is kind and good looking!

Have been there a couple of times, last night was brutal. Group of friends showed up, had reserved a table with«bottle service». Bouncer denied entry to entire party when there was nobody inside. I think they wanted to make all the males in the party pay an additonal cover charge even though they were spending XX amount of money on overlypriced grey goose. Not worth it for a club/lounge in the corner of a strip mall. Plenty of other better places in Houston to spend your time and money. I will never go back there.

Racist establishment! A girl friend and I came here and reserved a table for her birthday. When my boyfriend came he was denied entrance. Later when I questioned the owner he had the gall to tell me I needed a new boyfriend and they didn’t let him in because he was«too dark». Places like this have no business operating in Houston and I can’t wait for the day for it to close it’s doors permanently. Shame on you lumen!

Trendier than most. This place is more of a club than a lounge/bar. DJ played House music majority of the time, not my preference, but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. It was an older crowd the night I went. The girls were super dolled up in their New years cocktail dresses-which I love because there’s no such thing as being too overdressed esp at a place like this. I wouldn’t go here just to casually hang out. There’s not enough tables and chairs to sit, so you have to stand throughout the night. Not my typical spot.

Pros: Nice décor and patio Deltas: — Too many lolipoppers, some looked under 21 for sure — $ 20 for Valet is excessive

It’s a small lounge with a small dance floor. The music is pretty good. They had a special DJ guest one night that played the violin while he was mixing at the same time… that was pretty cool. I heard the bouncer could be a jerk sometimes but I’ve never had a problems getting in. Typical older midtown crowd on the weekends. I’ve only here on occasions. Definitely not a first choice.

Not my typical hangout, but if you’re the type to go out on a «school night,» check out Lumen on a Tuesday night. The place is packed with young twenty-somethings, along with the occasional old fogies who have yet to let go of their partying ways. I think I was the only girl in there with a dress longer than mid-thigh. Spotted a kid with a Mohawk who strutted around like he was a local celebrity — yes, it’s *that* kind of place. It’s a large venue, with lots of lights(hence the name«lumen»), a dance floor, lengthy bar and DJ spinning from a raised area. He takes song requests, but I was bummed he didn’t have my current jam, «Yellow Diamonds.» No cover on Tues; there’s valet, but plenty of street parking.
