Excellent food and service. Old school setting with dark wood interior. Key Lime pie is very good as well. Definitely need to visit again.

I live close with it but I have never come there. What I can say I was pleasantly surprised! It is cozy place where you can spend good time. It is good for sweet date or meet old friend or just come to relax. Menu has many kinds of dishes but what I tasted those were done very good. I think to come back here with my girlfriend, because it very comfortable when you have good place close with home)

Went to dinner here with a few co-workers and a client and the theme for the night was to not judge a book by its cover. Even though this location and building of this restaurant were less than desirable, once you walked in and sat down, you were treated to a nice little quaint, very personal dining experience. The wine list was enormous and had a wide variety of choices. The menu was extensive, with many options for all different tastes. Sides were delicious but the steak was prepared to perfections. Impeccable service and a cozy atmosphere really make this place a true diamond in the rough.

Delicious Ribeye Steak, one of the best I’ve ever had. The crab cakes are also divine!!! I took one star down though, because it’s a bit pricey. Overall, a great experience. Will be coming back.

We came here on Saturday this past week for their HRW’15 menu. We had a 7:30 reservation and were seated quickly. The hostess was really helpful and sweet so was the server. Apps– I got the lobster bisque. It was incredible. It had more of a mushroom base than I expected but still wonderful. The bf got a ceaser salad and it looked really fresh and good. Dinner– I got the 12 oz steak with sweet potatoes. This was probably one of the best prepared steaks I’ve ever had. It had awesome flavors and you could tell it had been aged well. Bf got the salmon. His looked awesome and was gone rather quickly so you knew he liked it. Desserts– I got the chocolate cake. ITWASAWESOME! He got the key lime pie and his was great too. It had a honey and graham cracker base. I will definitely be returning.

Went here for a family dinner for Houston restraint week. Good was okay, we were informed that this was sub par compared to Lynn’s steakhouse regular menu. I was disappointed that the restraint would use different food for the charity week. Yes it is a lower cost so you don’t make as much money so it’s a smart business decision but if you decrease the quality of your food just to increase profits you minimize the guest experience. Overall the food was okay, sent back a side that was a little too cold. Service was excellent, never had to ask for water, bread. Desserts again offered cheaper options, only 1 on menu item, if I wanted swanson’s I would have gone somewhere else. Prioritize guests and they become loyal customers, prioritize money and be doomed to fail.

My friend and I decided to have dinner at Lynn’s for HRW. We made reservations in case the restaurant would be packed. Surprisingly, this place was practically empty during dinner time. The interior of this steakhouse gave off a romantic vibe. The lights were dim and they had empty bottles of wine on display. I can tell this establishment has been around for a long time because the wood under the carpet creaked as we walked to our dinner table. Starter: Lobster bisque with sherry(4⁄5): I was actually impressed with their bisque. The soup had a thick consistency with a taste of lobster. The drizzle of sherry made it delicious! Main: 12 oz NY strip(3⁄5): The strip was cooked to perfection but the herb butter sauce didn’t give the whole strip enough flavor. If you order this ask for steak sauce and it should taste better. Dessert: Fresh berries with Chambord whip(4⁄5): They used fresh berries and the whipped cream went well with the fresh berries. However, you barely taste the Chambord in the cream. As for service, our waiter was friendly and brought us our waters, bread/butter, and food in a timely manner. My friend and I wanted to pay separate because we ordered a glass of wine of different prices. However, our waiter said if we split its the same thing cause the difference of wine price was by a $ 1. We didn’t mind splitting right down the middle but I just didn’t want my friend paying a $ 1 more and adding tip to their check. He should have asked if the check was going to be separate or together instead of dropping off the check. Overall, I would return to try their regular menu.

Hands down the best ribeye I’ve ever had; so tender I could cut it with my fork! And the ambience is top notch! From the doorman and host to the wait staff, impeccable service.

Small and intimate old school steakhouse. Cut and dry age their steaks in house. NY Strip 18 oz. was excellent, cooked to perfect medium rare. It had the dry aged flavor and was seasoned with a bit of garlic butter. Ribeye and cowboy bone in ribeye were also great. On special was a 10 oz bone in filet which we didn’t order but was a great cut. Several side choices family style. Goat cheese salad was not only excellent but a bit of a surprise in a steakhouse. When you are in the mood to avoid the high profile steakhouses in Houston, give the local steakhouse, Lynn’s, a try. It delivers the goods!

Yes 5 stars. Why 5 stars? Amazing food, lovely old school ambiance that has not gone so far as to be kitsch, good wines, a free nibble for new folks, and amazing, wonderful people giving peerless service. We were on the West side of town on a Saturday and were hungry, so we decided to come in to have a bit, based on the fact I always wanted to eat here when I moved down to Houston back in the mid 80s. This was the place I aspired to eat, back as a poor graduate student. Also, steak done right sounded like a wonderful thing. We came in without reservations and they seated us right away. Come to find out, it was restaurant week and they were going to be slammed but no matter, they found a spot for us. We were welcomed warmly by all the staff. The waitress, Tracy, took our order and gave us great guidance on meat cut and sides. To say she is a pro is an understatement. She is a veteran employee of the place, having been there 13 years. Restaurants dream of keeping people like that. This place must treat their folks right. With her help, we got a large rib-eye steak done rare with a hard sear, We also selected asparagus and potatoes au gratin. Very old school sides and things of beauty, when done right. The food arrived exactly as ordered and tasted divine. The steak was AMAZING. The asparagus was tasty and tender and the potatoes were really good. To top off dinner, we asked Tracy to recommend dessert. She told us that the carrot cake is the best thing they make. We went with it and a crème brûlée. I can’t pass up custard. I have to say, Tracy was right about the carrot cake. It is a thing to crave, and I’m sure I will. The brulee was good, don’t get me wrong, but that cake was amazing. I am sad that it’s taken me this long to go to Lynn’s, but I am glad I finally did so. I’m also sure I will go back when I can, even if it’s just for coffee and carrot cake.

My friend called a week ahead to order a special lobster that she wanted for her birthday — when she got to the restaurant none of her lobster or wine she requested was there — the Manager totally blew her off and she subsequently left with a ruined birthday — what a disappointment to know that a restaurant that claims to have outstanding service did this — no the place to go anymore —

This restaurant is like something out of the Sopranos. I mean come on, this place is TIRED. Went at 7:00 on a Friday and the place was basically empty. Decided to try it anyway. Big mistake. Server could have cared less about us. The $ 37NY strip we got could have come from Waffle House. I’ll give them one star for the wine list but how this place stays in business is beyond me.

Went to Lynn’s for a late dinner with a friend. I’ve driven past several times without a second thought. My mistake! The specials were amazing! Surprisingly, neither of us ordered a steak. I will have to remedy that SOON. I recall having a fish dish with crab and sauce on top… Simply amazing! Melted in my mouth. Couldn’t leave without trying a dessert, so went for the carrot cake. Glad we shared, as it was HUGE and wonderful. I definitely recommend Lynn’s and plan to go back soon!

Great steak, not too much seasoning so you can taste the beefy goodness, but still delicious! If money is an issue at all, beware! Our waiter made it seem like our steak came with a salad, but its another $ 8 – 12 per person if you get one. I guess he just assumed we would order steak, sides, and salads from the get go… Ambiance is good, and service is good too!

We really enjoyed ourselves. Food was fantastic! Wine list was extensive to say the least. The service was really good and we really liked the atmosphere. My only qualm was how close the tables were. some areas of the restaurant weren’t too bad, but our corner felt like we were packed in like sardines. All in all, I was very happy that we picked Lynn’s.

Old school crazy good. This has been described to me as THE upscale steak house in the Energy Corridor. Upscale it is. Pricy it is. The steaks? Excellent, but the filet I am drawn to just gets this place to 4-stars. It’s everything else that pushes it over the top. The extras are above exceptional. They do a good job with salads, especially a nice caprese or layered tomatos and goat cheese. They go for subtle rather than gross, perfect sizing rather than trying to fill you up on the first course. Steaks? Excellent, done to perfection, though to be honest at this price point I’ve had better flavored meat. The sides are standard good steakhouse, though – seriously, spinach au gratin how sick and twisted is that? I could eat it every day for the rest of my life kind of twisted. Spinach with just enough creaminess to know it’s not«sauteed», but not overdone like CREAMED spinach. Then layer cheddar on top. There’s a reason they say it’s a signature dish. Desserts are crazy-steakhouse huge. A great selection, including a berry dish(which they add sauce to). The real winner is a little shot of dark chocolate espresso crème goodness, humongous in flavor but not in size. But over-the-top experience? The Wine List: It reads like Encyclopedia Enoteca. It’s huge, great variety, old vintages. You will never experience this at a chain place. There’s a reason they have a bajillion awards on the wall for it. Ambience: Old school classic. Small rooms, great service, dim lighting, unique, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Suck on that upscale-chains! Atmosphere doesn’t come in a box.

Lynn’s amazing wine list is worth four stars alone. I’d heard good things about Lynn’s Steakhouse from friends in Houston and thought I would give it a try. The restaurant is located in the suburbs on the west side of Houston. It’s on the ground floor of an unassuming office building — easy to miss if you aren’t absolutely sure of the address. Going inside, the interior has a dark, «Mittel Europa» kind of feel. Grape vines with small, white lights are strung through the ceiling in an interesting way. The walls are lined with wine labels and awards for the restaurant’s wine offerings. The décor, while not winning any awards, is comfortable and homey. The friendly French owner of Lynn’s showed me to my white-tablecloth 2-top and brought me the restaurant’s wine list. This list had an absolutely incredible array of California and French wines, some(Bond, Araujo Estate, Palmer) pretty rare on any list. There were several bottles of Harlan Estate listed at prices that most would consider retail(even though at $ 500, they are pricey for sure…). I started off with an appetizer of three, perfectly grilled Gulf shrimp with a delish mustard(?) based sauce. Followed that with a Caesar salad that was fresh but kind of blah(but I think the croutons were house-made which kicks it up a notch). These dishes were paired with a Cambria chardonnay which was great on a hot day. For dinner I had a bone-in filet mignon with a pepper sauce. The steak was very good — apparently dry aged — but no grass fed. The flavor was pretty bland. The Lyonnaise potatoes served with the steak were awesome. Cubed, fried with onion, they were bites of pure potato bliss. I had a very good class of Bordeaux with my steak. Dessert was a serviceable tiramisu and excellent espresso. I have to say I really liked Lynn’s. I’ll be back. It’s no perfect — I’ve had better steaks in Houston — but the entire experience was friendly, relaxing and worth the $$ in my opinion. It is family-owned, not a chain, which also is a plus in my book. Very Yang vibe but I think everyone would enjoy a steak at Lynn’s.
