Wanting to try a new vegetarian place, I stopped in here in April 2016 and was pleasantly surprised. I had a dahi puri for an appetizer followed by aloo bhaji with plain paratha. The puri was enjoyable and fresh, as was the aloo bhaji and the paratha was hot and tender. Staff was friendly though service was slow, I expect because everything was apparently being made fresh. My only complaint — and this is a common one I have with many(most?) Asian restaurants — is that when I say I want hot, I mean that I want HOT, not«American hot.» On the way out I commented on the Tabasco-level mildness of the aloo bhaji which I had requested hot. The cashier basically confirmed that the cook took one look at me and dialed it down. She did assure me though that next time if I specified«Indian hot» I would get it.(On a side note, the restaurant website is very strange: headings are in English but the remaining text all appears to some other language, possibly Latin?! It appears to have been updated last in 2013 so I wouldn’t rely upon it.)

Terrible. Food is mediocre, I have had better samosas at the frozen aisle at Costco,(if you have a Costco membership try #sukhisamosas). The«chole bhaturra» weren’t spectacular either. Anyhow, in blind faith I paid the bill, only to see while walking out they charged me an extra two dollars. When I asked the lady, «we charged y’all extra because you shared an item.» I literally lost it at that point. Not that two dollars break a wallet, but she charged me for the extra plates she brought and failed to tell me. I never paid or heard off of any extra plates charges in Manhattan, only to find out about this absurd charge on a FM1960 establishment. It’s not about being cheap, sometimes you don’t want to consume the heavy amount of calories. All I am saying is that I understand the economics behind the charge, but do specify the extra charge on the bill. Don’t play games by adding it towards the cost of the food without any proper breakdown.

Alright so I’m pretty torn about this place. Second time coming, & I think it may have been my last. Food is pretty good. Ive had the vegetable samosas, channa masala, & the gobi mix. Paratha which is I guess there version of naan is pretty good too. Service is good & front lady is really nice. What it basically comes down to is my OCD self. I need cleanliness in my-life & this place is not a very clean facility. Ants crawling on the table, spider webs on the window sills, dirty utensils, my water cup had a black stain on it. Nope! Until this place can up its ante then it has lost my business. Damn shame too, cause vegan friendly places are hard to find. Hopefully they will makes some changes for the better.

For all those people who think this«restaurant» serves«fresh» food, they DONOT!!! My experience was terrible and the justification provided for the not so «fresh» food was even worse! On my way home from work my wife asked for me to bring a Masala Dosa home because she was really craving it. For those who don’t know what a Masala Dosa is, it’s a huge piece of flat bread with a potato filling. The meal comes with a soup and some dipping sauces. Well, I Unilocaled this place, and sorry fellow Unilocalers, ya let me down. It was rated extremely well so I figured they’d have good food. Well, I went in on my way home, grabbed a Dosa and headed out. Got home and unpackaged the meal, only to be hit with a foul and awful smell instantaneously. I opened the potato container and I could smell the terrible smell from 3 feet away. It had already spoiled within the 15 minute car ride. But that can’t be possible, I thought, so I figured I would call the shop and let them know. Their explanation to my experience, «Well, we make our potatoes at 10am, so it is out all day and it can happen». Really??? Potatoes made at 10am, served at 7pm??? Seriously??? How in the world can that be considered fresh???

Found this place hidden in a corner while I was looking for some desi(Indian/Pakistani) food, and I am glad I did! Their menu had a great selection of options with all authentic names and ingredients. The place to me had a nice homely vibe, back in the country we call dhaba :) you feel more at home than at a business place. The food was made absolutely fresh and was bursting with flavors, significantly the Bhindi(Ocra) ! It was out of this world! Chana Masala was great, I love the options they had for Aloo Paratha or any paratha really. They even deliver, of course once you meet a minimum delivery threshold. Nevertheless the place is amazing for food. The ambience may not be what anyone expects, not so flashy and all, but I love it, makes me feel closer to home. Oh do not forget to try the Safron Mango Lassi! I think this place would make a great authentic indian food place with just minor tweaks here and there to accommodate the general public, but then again I am about the taste not how it looks.

This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. If you’re looking for no-fuss home cooking, this is the place. Nice and clean restaurant with a lovely cashier. We ordered masala dosa, sambar, aloo parata, samosa, pakoras, and some lassis. Everything was delicious and served nice and fresh. Oh, and lassis were thick and perfect too. We had 3 kids with us and they loved everything too! Highly recommend this place!

Everything was amazing! I had the Aloo Mutter Tomato with a side of rice. The watermelon juice is out of this world. Loads of Vegan options. Perfect for those who don’t eat meat and want to venture out! The service was very friendly and fast! New favorite spot!

I’ve been wanting to try Indian food other than Traders Joe’s frozen options and this place was my fix. Almost everything on the menu is vegan and the prices were very affordable. The food is spiced well and proportions are great. I’ll definitely be back to try out other menu items.

You get the best variety of Indian Vegan delicious food, which is tasty & nutritious, and the staff are friendly & their family cook prepare all food fresh on the same day. They are also very good for Catering and delivering food at any events in and around Houston. Will highly recommend for all the Indian & vegan lovers. Thanks

This place has expanded since the last time I came in. I like that they labeled all of the vegan options in their menu. They have a lot of vegan options to choose from. It was not too busy when I was in, service was good. For me it was a casual relaxing place to get some homework done while getting a very reasonably priced healthy meal. Thanks Madhuran Mirch Masala!

I hate to give low ratings but the food was just bad. I tried to like it but my god it tasted terrible lol. I got these little wraps that had this weird flavor. I probably will never go back. The service was great though. The Indian people were very nice and welcoming. I just couldn’t get into the food. Tasted so bad lol. I may go back for desserts. I had kofta. So bad lol sorry guys. Just didn’t like it at all. But you all are very nice people.

The food was very good! I was pleasantly surprised. The customer service was great and the lady at the front counter was very sweet and helpful. I will definitely be back. I love being able to order anything on the menu because it’s all vegetarian. I would recommend this place. It may take a while for them to take your order, but if you can wait, the food is very tasty… just enough spice. It took a while for them to take my order, but once they took my order, the food came out quickly. If you want to avoid the wait, you can call 1st.

This was a very good vegetarian and vegan restaurant. It’s family owned and the food is fresh. They take a lot of pride in their meals and will show you how over the top they work to provide you with good food at very inexpensive prices. You can tell they care about the quality and not the profit. I will definitely be returning here. I came with a friend who eats meat and he LOVED this restaurant. Got incredibly full but not overstuffed. This place will be a regular in my staple!!!

Food is good. Friendly staff. This is my second visit, and I will be back when on this side of town again. Priced reasonably and many meals are vegan. Check in for free chai. My gps takes me to the wrong place. If you don’t see it, go across the road, go to the far left, it’s in the corner.

Their service was very good. I had a little fun with one of the cashiers when I asked him what he would recommend. I told him he was«very diplomatic» because he wouldn’t outright recommend to me what most vegan patrons order. Of course, he said he would recommend something if I came in more regularly. Love the sales spirit! I ordered the Vegetable Samosas, Gobi Mix, and Unilocal awarded me a free Chai Tea for checking in. The Samosas were some of the best I have ordered anywhere. The Gobi Mix was good. To me it wasn’t amazing, but it was good. The Chai Tea was delicious also. Fortunately, I was able to make it vegan with almond milk. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you are in this area because I couldn’t find many vegan restaurants close by.
