Huli Huli chicken and macaroni salad was very bland, $ 1 for a tepid can of coke. Overall, I paid $ 12 to learn that I will not be eating here again.

This was the 1st time we bought from this food truck, at a «fest» in front of HEB in Pearland, and we were half-disappointed, half satisfied. Huli Huli chicken platter had dry and bland chicken, without any sauce to help. I just now read an old review saying the exact same thing we thought. Wish I had seen it before buying. Sides of macaroni and slaw/salad were just so-so. Not worth the high price. Our other order was teriyaki bowl with chicken. That chicken was very tasty — we had to steal some of that sauce for the other chicken. The vegetables were too skimpy, for the price we paid.

Food truck came to our development tonight, so i checked their menu out. I ordered an Island Burger, and by the beard of Zeus, it was absolutely delicious. Worth. Every. Cent.

Great customer service, food not so good. I’m from California so I’ve had plenty of authentic Hawaiian food. I was excited to try some Katsu chicken again. It was very bland, Katsu sauce sub par, macaroni salad terrible. If you have never had authentic Hawaiian food, you may like their food. But if you have had authentic Hawaiian, this is not it at all. Macaroni salad should not be that dry.

I tried this food truck at clear lake shores foodpark I was a little skeptical at the beginning to try a steak from a food truck, but I was extremely wrong. It was very tender extremely tasty and delicious all in all. On the bottom of the stake they do some fry rice which was excellent. sticky delicious buttery and very very very good. The girl at the window, Terry, was very helpful and funny I definitely coming back to this food truck

Mahalo Munchies is a great concept but poorly executed. The very nice owner deserves stars but the food does not. Had the spam musubi — very thick, bland rice(not really sushi rice) and just not as tasty as it should be. Very disappointing. The Huli Huli chicken platter has a photo of moist, dark chicken, but what I received was sadly overlooked and bland, without even much sauce to help. So so dry — and the description talks specifically about keeping it moist! :( The pineapple mint iced tea is great though. Good to cool down with. Total of this order came to $ 25(without tip). Way too much! It was super hot out and the wait time was over 15 minutes. We received our iced tea with our food but if it had been called out first, that would have been really appreciated. I don’t mind waiting as much when I have a drink! Like I said, the owner was really nice so I feel bad that I don’t like the food, but it’s just not well done. Get iced tea if you want but skip the grub. Edit: Bumped up to three stars because I really appreciate that Terrie reached out and sees her reviews. Definitely means there will be a second chance given down the road and obviously, she’s working to improve things. That’s always a good sign!

This was my second time checking out Mahalo Munchies and I was blown away! First off, how many Hawaiian restaurants do you know of in town? I haven’t heard of any so I was excited to try out a new cuisine. This time around I went with their fries covered in cheese, parmesan, and butter. They were delicious and they gave me so many fries it’s going to last for 3 meals at least! The people working the truck are also really nice. They told me I look familiar which is true as I’m a big fan of food trucks. To make things even better, they told me about a recipe to use with my leftover fries the next day. And since I’ve never had spam, they gave me some free to try out! I was blown away by the customer service and friendliness of the folks at Mahalo Munchies. I’ll definitely be back again to try some more of their unique items!

Great food and the owner is really friendly while giving great advice on what to eat. If you’re in the Food Park and not sure what to eat, this is a great option you can’t go wrong with.

As close to a Hawaiian-style lunchwagon as you’ll find anywhere in the city. Limited(but authentically flavored) menu of plate lunches, sandwiches, and sides. Had the Huli-huli(Hawaiian barbecue) chicken with perfectly steamed rice AND mac salad — ONO!(delish) If you like al fresco dining, you’ll feel right at home wherever they’ve got the truck parked.

Was less than what I was expecting, the theme and menu items are all good but food quality is lacking. I decided to try the Turf Burger and was displeased with the cheap preformed hamburger patty that tasted more burnt than grilled, and the pineapple in the salsa was straight out of the can, lastly the bun was plain and untoasted. The burger could have been great and could demand a premium price but fell flat on its face. Make it a specialty burger with a fresh ground pork/beef patty, grill fresh pineapple and onions for the salsa with a brioche bun and teriyaki mayo. Hope the food picks up.

It’s so hard to find foods from my childhood out there in the community, so I was so happy to try this food truck! They were at the clear lake shores food truck park this weekend, and I ordered the spam musubi. SPAM. MUSUBI. Wow. It was great! Memories of my mom making this for our family came flooding back when I took that first bite– I want more! Only a couple of things I would like to change, though. My nori wrap was soggy instead of crispy and dry(probably because it was wrapped in foil when it was served.) That snap is important when eating a musubi! Also, the rice needs to be seasoned like sushi rice, and would have been more authentic if the rice was more pressed and formed, instead of being a bit loose. This is nit picky stuff, but can be important. Overall, awesome, awesome, awesome, with a side of awesome.

We had the opportunity to try this tonight at a school function. The food was outstanding, very tasty. The portions were just right. They had lots of orders and kept up well.

Unfortunately this food truck was not for us. Wanted to like it, but could not. We had this when it was stopped at Ladybirds and none of it was a hit for us. DH and I split the pulled pork sliders and Parmesan fries. The fries are Ore-Ida fries with barely any parm. The pickles were just too much for the sliders. Our friends got the burgers but they were pretty much run of the mill burgers. They ate them and thats about all you can say about that. Overall — don’t waste your money.

Stopped by the Houston Food Park today after church with some friends and 4 out of 5 of us ordered from this truck and we were all very satisfied with our order! One got the garlic parm fries which were great! We liked how they were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The buttery garlic and Parmesan flavors were all nicely blended. My husband and I got two different items and shared so we were able to try a variety of items. I liked how they had the luau platter with little bits of different dishes. The macaroni salad was simple and delicious! The katsu chicken was delicious with the tasty pineapple teriyaki sauce over it. The huli(sp?) chicken was so tender and tasty too! The pork slider was great with a hint of pickle in it! The loco moco was also delicious with the gravy and a fried egg — Mmmmm! Needless to say there wasn’t a thing we ate that wasn’t enjoyable. The ladies that run the truck are very nice and hospitable as well.

I want to give these ladies a higher score for THEM, but their food just let them down. The two ladies who operate this truck are lovely, full of smiles and very friendly. I got garlic parm fries, which didn’t take long to cook at all, but while we were sat on the picnic benched at HFP, one of them came over to give us one of their dessert balls to try as she said it took a while to get the fries out — it really wasn’t long at all! They are kind and lovely. I was disappointed by my fries, I judge fries harshly, I like food trucks to have hand cut fries, not frozen in-a-bag type crinkle fries, esp when I’m paying $ 6 for them. I also prefer the fries to be tossed in the garlic parm, rather than having it as a topping added cause it then becomes unevenly covered in topping and you fight with your husband over the cheese… just me then? The free desserty ball, smelled delicious, I wanted to eat it all and not share with hubby and my son. First bite was delicious, fluffy light and packed with flavour, but once my hubby took a bite it was filled with raw dough. Stringy and cold. Such a shame cause this was amazing! Interesting menu, if you wanna try spam a-la-food-truck, with a smile from lovely servers, go here!
