Small eatery. Crowded though on a Saturday night. Which is a sign that this place is good I supposed? I made reservation for a medium size group a week in advance. Came that day and the table wasn’t even set up. And once we were called to be seated, there wasn’t enough room for everyone so another table had to be added. Ugh. This is not the quality service of a place that over charge compared to other places. I’m willing to pay more but the customer service has to justify that. Food was decent. Nothing spectacular. Paella was ok. Being a Spanish tapa, you’d think the paella would be the star but it’s not. We did liked our waitress though. She was nice.

Worst service ever. Lunch specials until 3 pm? Not true. Got there a few minutes before 3 pm so we could get the special, they decided that it was too close to 3 to honor it. Waiter threw the food in our table and was in no mood to be tending customers. Food was decent.

I’m very disappointed. I have not been here in a while, the food and service used to be outstanding but now both are terrible. It took the waiter about 30 min to bring us our cold hot entrée.

I am not well-versed when it comes to tapas… with that being said, our last visit was not very good… The décor is unique and the service was fair. The food is NOT so good. Went in a little bit late for lunch and early for dinner… order sone dishes… about ten minutes later… waitress came back and said 2⁄3 dishes are not available?!? We then order lamb, roasted vegetables, and B’stilla. Lamb is a cube of salt. Roasted vegetables is a boiled dish of carrot, zuchini, squash(8 pieces) for $ 9… B’stilla is super weird. Imagine sweet sweet cinnamon roll stuffed with sweeten scrample egg… Waited for the hostest/waitress(same lady) to check us out like fifteen minites after got the check. Not coming back… could careless about happy hour if the food is weird!

This place has Decent food. Service isn’t the best but its doable. I like the chicken empanadas. This comes with a nice sauce that’s good for dipping. They also have a Decent happy hour. Has a place to sit outside and they do live music during the week on certain days.

Mi Luna is an oldie, but goodie. I will never grow tired of the food, fun and atmosphere here. Frankly, I like Mi Luna’s tapas more than tapas found throughout Spain! The prices have increased since they updated their menu, but with a groupon and free dessert when you checkin with Unilocal, all is good. I Love Mi Luna!

The band was REALLY loud but it wasn’t terrible. The food was DELICIOUS and our waiter was on top of his game. I read countless reviews of horrible waiters, and I was a bit skeptical because of it, but ours was top notch. All the little plates added up though, so it was more expensive than I anticipated. Went with a big group and most everything we ordered was delicious. One thing I didn’t like was a sweet/savory dish. It was like a sweet bread filled with savory/spicy meat. Too confusing for my tastebuds. We also ordered the paella, but by the time it came out we were all too full from the tapas to even try it. It’s an experience, go at least once.

I came here way back in the day, but I could still taste what Mi Luna is all about. It was dimly lit inside and had a nice romantic vibe. When I went, it was packed from the dining area to the bar. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. He knew it was our first time and was very helpful when recommending what was popular. MILUNAPAELLA– fresh seafood, chorizo, pork loin and chicken baked in saffron rice This dish was flavorful. I really liked the rice. It was cooked perfectly and the meat and seafood were a good addition. Even without them the dish would’ve been okay because the rice was so flavorful. The pork loin was a bit chewy, but other than that, everything was perfect. I would come back here again, but probably when it’s not so busy. It can get a bit loud; so if you’re on a date and want a quiet place then I don’t recommend this place.

The menu has a great variety of delicious tapas. The happy hour menu has changed and a few great items were removed. It’s still a great place to go on a Friday night if you enjoy good food and live music. I think we had the seafood combo last time we were there. If you like well seasoned flavorful food, this is your place!

Came here for Happy Hour. Ordered a bunch of tapas. The best was probably the croquettes and the pulpo. Otherwise I was not impressed by the food. Oh and since it was happy hour, we ordered drinks. Worst drinks ever. No alcohol in them. My one friend didn’t even bother finishing her drink either.

This place is awesome pawsome! I bought the Groupon and me and my bf had a ton of appetizers. He especially loved the meat balls with rice. We had the empanadas which were so good and had two orders. We went to happy hour where it was $ 3 tapas and drinks that were reduced but we just had water. I liked the calamari as a staple. We also had the chicken and potato and just potato croquettes. They were okay but not anything I would need to order again. I liked the free garlicly bread dip! It reminded me of Brazilian food and was soo good! My boyfriend wasn’t a fan of the octopus and potato. I thought it was okay. I uploaded photos. We got there at 330pm so the crowd wasn’t crazy. Parking on rice village can be tough but doable with hidden spots like walking from cvs if there’s no nearby parking. We used a Groupon and will definitely be back! It’s our little peace of Spain in houston!

I have been thinking and rethinking about how I should write this review. I met with friends on 2÷5÷2016; a Friday night at 6:30, so right after happy hour ended. I was expecting the restaurant to be full of people; however, most of the happy hour crowd had already cleared out and the late night patrons had yet to roll in. The ambiance strikes a good balance between casual and intimate. The tables are a great size for ordering multiple tapas. Between the four of us, we probably ordered about 10 things and we weren’t aching for more table real estate. The service at Mi Luna is wonderful. Our server Damian was attentive without being overbearing. He knew the menu well and answered all our questions. Our glasses remained full and the food rolled out of the kitchen pretty quick. Faster than I expected. And just a quick tip, tapas means the food will be served as soon as it’s ready. Don’t expect everything you ordered to show up at once. Now for the part of this review that gave me problems… the food. I really wanted to love the food. A menu where you basically sample a bunch of different dishes in one sitting without being judged for ordering multiple things. Plus, there’s enough food on each plate to share. Sounds great right? The Galician Style Octopus stands out as the greatest source of contention. From the menu, octopus with peppers, onions and potatoes sounded fantastic. It’s so pretty when it comes out, all steaming hot. Crisp peppers, potatoes that melt in your mouth. Then you take a fork full of octopus, and they’re tough. I’m talking beyond the typical chew. My mouth was very sad after eating it. The Crab Cake with Romesco Sauce is HUGE! Tender, great mouth feel, full on crab taste. The sauce on the side adds the needed acidity to cut through the density and sweetness of the cake. Though I will have to say the size is the most impressive aspect of this dish. My favorite part of the Baked Goat Cheese with Tomato Basil Sauce was the goat cheese. I LOVE goat cheese. Just enough basil in the sauce, cute plating, I just needed more bread. Totally grabbed a slice of the complimentary bread and went ham so not an issue. Lastly, I claimed the free dessert by checking in on Unilocal. They let me choose anything from the full dessert menu. No restrictions. So I chose the Chocolate Torte, described as a «moist and warm chocolate cake with ganache filling, served with vanilla ice-cream.» I don’t remember the ganache. Plus, the cake tasted as though they warmed it in a microwave and added some ice-cream prior to serving. I can’t really be upset since it was free, though now I know not to order that dish. Overall, I would give Mi Luna a 3.5÷5, though Unilocal rounds up so 4⁄5. I do plan on going back, perhaps during happy hour, and trying out some of their cold tapas. I’ll write an updated review at that time.

Went here for tapas with a friend. The food and service were both decent, and the prices were reasonable as well. We shared everything, which was kind of difficult. Things like prosciutto aren’t very splittable. We ordered a smattering of tapas(6 in total), and my faves were the kaftas(meatballs and rice) and the empanadas. The food came quickly and was overall fairly tasty, but it left no real impression in my mind. Splitting 6 tapas cost us $ 9 each(they do it by $ 3 per dish), which is a good price, but we were hungry again quickly afterward. The ham and cheese dishes especially don’t seem to be worth the three dollars, as they just give you a couple slices of meat, a piece of cheese, and a paper thin apple slice. The food overall was a 3.5 to me, but I’ll round up. The ambience is dim and romantic, though not overly fancy. I can see this being a nice place for a casual date. Overall, a fairly good place for tapas!

We came here because of a Groupon. That’s kind of already a red flag. We got the seafood salpicon, the mushroom paella, and the seafood paella. The seafood salpicon was pretty flavorless. The mushroom paella tasted like they cooked rice, then they cooked mushroom separately, and then they put it together in the end. But they didn’t even put it together well because the mushrooms weren’t mixed into the middle of the rice. The seafood paella was alright. Park in the parking lot across the street. There’s a ton of construction going on right around Mi Luna. The service was good, and the atmosphere is nice. There were quite a few people tonight(Thursday night), but they didn’t seem short-staffed or anything.

This restaurant is usually crowded on the weekends, so if you want to avoid the long wait then come during the weekdays. Happy hour is from 3PM-6PM M-F. There is a Groupon as of 12÷07÷15, so you should definitely take advantage of the deal. I didn’t exactly know what«tapas» were, so I did some research online and found out that it means small snacks(feel free to correct me though). There are snacks for everyone! Chicken, pork, beef, seafood, and vegetarian! Beef skewers with rice: I am very very particular when it comes to beef. I am not fond of fatty meat. These beef tenderloins were fantastic, because they were very lean! You get two skewers with tenderloins, grilled onions, and grilled bell peppers. The skewers were topped with drizzles of sour cream while the rice had some sauteed sweet onions on top. Perfect sharing plate for two people.(9⁄10) Chicken empanadas: Consisted of 3 pieces. Puff pastries stuffed with grilled chicken. Simple instruction: Dip the empanadas in the ranch sauce and eat away! No wow factor, but it was definitely good!(7⁄10) Mi Luna Paella: Recommended by our waiter. This dish reminds me of jambalaya with less cajun spices. It’s an ideal dish for someone who wants a little bit of everything. It has shrimp, mussels, fish, chorizo/sausage, pork, and chicken mixed with rice. The rice has sauteed tomatoes and peas. 2 – 3 people can easily finish this entrée.(7⁄10) Did I mention there is complimentary bread? Restaurant is very spacious and there is also a bar counter. Great place for a get-together!

I did not like our server. My friend did not like our server. We sat at the bar and while the restaurant itself was busy, the bar was not. Because I didn’t order alcohol(she changed my mind very quickly when I saw her demeanor, I was not giving her any more money) she seemed irritated by me. I had to flag her down to get my order in for a dessert. She seemed unwilling to help. She would not separate our checks. She didn’t even ask if we were on the same ticket, she just assumed. She seemed to get annoyed with us and I will not be coming back. She paid more attention to the male staff than she did to us. The chocolate cake was good, but it was not worth coming back to see her. Customer service is everything. Mi Luna’s bartender, had none.

I visited during their happy hours and enjoyed the experience. They currently have a Groupon available online, but apparently you can’t use the Groupon during their happy hours, but the happy hour was a better deal anyway. We ordered about 4 – 5 dishes: Moroccan meatball, calamares, croquetas de patatas, croquetas de pollo, beef empandas. I would say I enjoyed the calamares and the croquetas de pollo and patatas the best. They are all fairly small and about the size of an appetizer. The service here was quite fast, and it wasn’t too packed around their happy hours. They also have special deals everyday, and I think the day I went was a $ 10 wine night, but I was quite from the food and didn’t take advantage of this. However, I do want to come back on their margarita pitcher night. Overall, pretty good experience. I will take advantage of that groupon next time.

I really love this tapas bar! It has happy hour, 3 – 6, M-F. Some days, like today, they extend happy hour on drinks, so we enjoyed $ 3 well crafted margaritas and mojitos. I’ve never had a bad dish here. Today, we enjoyed fried smelts, tilapia, & calamari; eggplant sautéed in garlic & tomatoes; and beef empanadas. The waiters bring bread to the table that is made very special by the bowl of olive oil infused with garlic, herbs, and spices served with the bread. The waitstaff is always polite and attentive. The acoustics are terrible inside, but you can always sit outside and people watch.
