I was referred to this office through my PCP and insurance to have a cyst/ingrown hair addressed. Not only was I able to schedule an appointment just a day or so after I called, I only had to wait about 5 minutes after finishing the paperwork required of a new patient. Dr. Murillo was both professional and personable, explaining both how the cyst formed and how to treat it, including the likely outcomes of two different procedures(simply draining versus draining, scraping, and stitching). I chose the more comprehensive treatment since it’s possible I’d need it anyway if I opted for the simpler one and scheduled another appointment to come back. During my second meeting with Dr. Murillo, he applied local anesthetic to the cyst, sliced it up, dug it out, and patched me up with directions to keep it clean for the next few days. It was a largely painless procedure, and he was great at explaining what he was doing and maintaining a casual conversation throughout my time on the chair. When I returned nearly a week later, it took him just a few seconds to take out the stitches, explain what the healing would be like along with potential procedures to further treat the area in the future. Dr. Murillo provided very reasonable prices for this procedure, which, including the initial consultation, cost less than $ 300(compare that with 5 minute consultation I had with Dr. Desai where he told me that he couldn’t treat the cyst but did write me a prescription for eczema — $ 101.84 tyvm). In fact, before contact the insurance, Dr. Murillo estimated that treating the cyst wouldn’t cost more than $ 200, and if the insurance quoted a higher price, we’d stick with the $ 200(it ended up being lower, $ 147, so w00t). This office is accessible by bus/rail, has friendly staff, and was a pleasure to visit.
