It was great that it was open the Christmas Holiday weekend when nothing else was. The owner was very friendly and the food was quality and good.

I work at Four Houston Center building and Murphys is right down the escalator, so its conveniant. The girls that work there, are super cool, when i go down, they know what im gonna order, and as soon as they see me on the escalator, they start with my order, croissant, nuked, not toasted, & a small café con leche. Its not the best croissant, but they are so warm and friendly that it doesnt even matter, its good enough. The owner is really cool and is always friendly. The turkey sub is really good, made to my specifications, egg salad sandwiches are really good, the bread is always fresh. Also chiken salad sandwhich is yummy. They always have fresh fruit, a pretty good breakfast menu, although i did try a breakfasat burrito and didnt like it. Overall, pretty good.

Since I worked in One Shell, Murphy’s was always a viable option mostly because I could go down an escalator, grab food, and then go back up to work(sad, I know). For the most part, the place was packed with people during lunch. Even though you can’t tell from the looks of the place, they make a pretty good falafel sandwhich, which is what I ended up getting a lot as a quick mid-day meal. When I was being exceptionally cautious with my spendings, their egg salad sandwich was decent(paired with some leafy greens). It wasn’t exceptionally filling, but hey, it was sufficient. Is it spectaular? No. But if you’re working in One Shell or any other neighboring building and you just need a quick bite, it’s not such a terrible idea to give Murphy’s a try.
