Pappas Burger

This is the best burger in houston. Pappas is so good! I have no idea why every best burger list doesn’t start and end with this place. If you are even remotely thinking of going to this place JUST GO!

Spent $ 66.80 and the burgers were horrible. My wife did like their salad. Food is a bit pricey for the quality.

good burger … But the interesting thing is how well managed this place is … Runs like a clock … No one working there was idle for more than a few seconds — I liked watching them being all about business nonstop …

So, my best friend and I were dead broke. We had 25 to spend on food and eight dollars we decided we would tip. You walk up and order and the waitresses bring it to you and serve/​cater to you. We ordered a good old fatty juicy burger with cheese and an order of steak fries. To our surprise both came loaded with fries. Needless to say, we came out fully stuffed and all under 25 for two people plus tip. We were happy campers!

Papas always hits the spot in both quantity and quality, which justifies the price. I honestly think they have better burgers than most other places serving hamburgers around town, but be prepared to also pay a small premium.
All in all the restaurant is a cool concept, it’s clean, you order when you arrive but pay after you are done eating. I guess they’re really gambling on the fact that the quality and quantity is there! Anyways always a good place to go if you are looking for a hamburger and have a few extra bucks to spare.

Good location on Westheimer close to the Galleria. Parking can be a pain but luckily we found one. Their burgers are big and juicy. Their fries and onion rings are delicious. I had a taste of my daughter’s vanilla milkshake and it was good. My daughter said their buffalo wings are better than Buffalo Wild Wings, wow. Service is fast and friendly. Matt was our server and he was great! This place was busy on a Friday night but we found a nice table and had a nice, comfortable meal.

Do not be deterred by the wait, the parking lot was full however once inside you order at the counter, and wait for a table. It seemed we were in and out. The burgers were huge and fresh. I had a Lucy Juicy — amazing– fried egg and pimiento cheese. The boyfriend had Frito pie burger also amazing. We both had leftovers for another meal. We had mozzarella bites as appetizer, we were told they’re made fresh along with the marinara. And just when we thought we were too stuffed to move, we were offered a complimentary shake for being our first visit. So of course we took one for the road. $ 15 seems pricey for a burger, but it’s huge, and worth every cent.

First. EXPENSIVE burger!
Size is huge and a huge pile of fries. But the quality was not great. I did not taste meat. You know that meat taste that you get from a non-​fast food burger.
I asked for medium and got well done.
I did not know what to expect. Place looks like a nice cosy sports type diner then I got shocked by the price. I still went for it cause a $ 14 burger must be amazing and then I got something that was just a little better than a Whataburger. Sorry I wanted to like it. I have had plenty of great burgers.
Fries were fantastic.

Huge burgers, well prepared and great environment. Be ready to take a to go box home. Prices are high, but we have to remember this is premium beef from the steakhouse next door.

Really good, Texas sized burgers and amazing fries. Not the healthiest of places but you need to treat yourself once in a blue moon.

A very cute diner atmosphere. You order your food with a cashier first and then sit down anywhere you would like. Then a waiter/​waitress comes to you with your food. Definitely a big burger but the price is okay. Didn’t like their onion rings much but I’m very picky with my onion rings.
I probably wouldn’t come here again.

I go here mostly for the friendly people and good service. The food is pretty good I would recommend to get the salmon salad which was phenomenal or get the loaded mashed potatoes on the side instead of fries with any burger. They have a lot of TVs with sporting events or the news being displayed on them. I think the prices are reasonable and I would recommend for anyone, bring your family!

The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is cause they say that their beef patty is 8oz. (Half-​pound) however I’ve been to other places that sell half-​pound burgers and their beef patties actually look like they’re half-​pound but at this place the patty looks slightly smaller.
Price: Each burger with the normal toppings (Lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion, mayo) cost about $ 14.
Taste: I love simple burgers (Lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion, mayo) more than burgers with all those unique toppings. So for simple Burgers you can’t beat Pappas Burger with regards to taste.
They have unique burgers with guacamole or chili but I’m not a fan of burgers with unique toppings.
Service: I’ve never had a problem with the service. People that work here are always very nice.
Also sometimes the fries here have a little bit too much salt so make sure you take that into account.
Oh! If you’re really hungry don’t forget to try the mozzarella bites or whatever they’re called. They taste amazing!
I’ve eaten at a lot of different Burger places such as Becks prime, Guru burger, Fudrucker, steakhouses, a bunch of mom and pop burger places. But taste wise at the time I’m writing this review Pappas Burger is one of the best.

Disclaimer: the ONLY reason I’m giving 4 stars is bc I requested lettuce on my burger, and it kinda of messed it up, YIKES! They have the burger business down! This burger was pricey, but huge! First time here and we were very happy. Service was friendly, fast, and efficient. Good job!

Papas Burgers doesn’t offer the cheapest burgers in town. Meanwhile, they don’t leave much room to complain about the quality. It’s likely going to run you $ 20 a person to eat here (a burger, fries and a drink, with tip) but you’ll leave full, content and willing to return. Anyone who’s lived or visited Texas often is aware of the Papa’s chains and this one is a keeper.
The burgers are large, juicy and if you order something like the Guacamole Burger (like I did) you’ll be impressed with the amount of gauc, bacon, cheese, etc, they put on it. They don’t cut corners here, rather hand pad good burgers. If you are in the business of searching for a sit down restaurant that dishes out burgers where you can watch TV and be in the care of solid service you can’t go wrong here. Think Red Robin, but a notch better.

The set-​up for the restaurant is different and, I think, strange. You walk in and order at the counter. You don’t pay but you get your drinks and find a table to sit down. A server will come to you and confirm your order, make any changes, add any additional items, and will continue you serve you for the rest of the night. Why not just have us order from the server in the first place if they will confirm our order?
The food was delicious with large portions. We got the guacamole burger and wings (hot and asian flavor). The guacamole paired with the pico made it taste like the heavenly guac handmade at HEB. mmm mmm! Cooked perfectly. The wings were also tasty. The asian flavor being my favorite of the two.
The price is pretty high for a burger, but the quality is evident. All the servers were kind. Great experience overall.

With the hand cut fries. the fresh turkey burger on amazing buns OMG! Pappas does it again, burger style.

Here’s the scenario: I was hitting week 3 of my «pre-​summer diet» and had a horribly crappy day at work. I was breaking my diet that night.
The burger was okay, but not the best. I had the Peppercorn, which comes with onion rings inside the burger. They over-​sauced it a bit, leaving my onion rings super soggy. Plus, the burger was practically room temperature. The size was pretty good though, but I wouldn’t expect anything less for a $ 17 cheeseburger.
Overall, I was pretty disappointed that my affair with food (on my diet) wasn’t more memorable.

Pappas! Is amazing I chose to split the Lucy Juicy burger which was prefect, the burgers are huge. The Lucy Juicy is stuffed with American cheese grilled onions and fried egg with fresh cut crispy fries it’s was the perfect split to not feel stuffed! also added a small side chilli to dip the burger in amazing!
Not huge on burgers but this is a must, and will tell the world about Lucy Juicy!!! lol there was a nice like surprise as far as salad choices

Hot Damn that burger was the Shiz!!!
First my Server Riz was beyond amazing and attentive and made me feel like I was at home.
First time here and wanted to check another Papas of the list.

Lucy juicy burger-​Stuffed with american cheese with grilled onions, fried egg, and pimento cheese. I added Onion rings for texture. It was hands down one of the best burgers I have ever had. Sooooo juicy and delicious I could only finish half. The meat is such a great quality that you don’t feel heavy after you eat it. The fries are fresh cut and crispy.
Friend had Frito pie burger-​Again Ridiculous the chili was so good I asked for a side to dip my burger in.
Milkshake-​I had the peanut butter and banana shake kids size because I couldn’t possibly get the large. Soooooo creamy and premium. Chunks of banana and creamy peanut butter thank God I’m pregnant right now and don’t have to worry about bikini season.
I will be back several times!!!
