Pathways Memory Care At Villa Toscana

Pathways is one of the few memory care communities in Houston that offers rehabilitation on site and is licensed to provide physician-​directed skilled health care services. The benefit to residents and their families is that as a resident’s memory care support needs increase, Pathways has the health care staff, capabilities and license to provide for those needs. Many assisted living licensed memory care providers require memory care residents to move when their needs cannot be met in assisted living setting. Pathways offers the capability to address these increasing needs and offers families peace of mind in knowing that their loved one does not have to endure a move that potentially exacerbates the condition.

The people at Pathways are extremely professional, and they have a tremendous heart for what they do. They have a new administrator and she is great. She has a lot of Memory Care experience. I have found that the people there have a true passion in caring for the elderly.. It always smells nice, and is decorated so lovely. I really think it is an environment that is safe, loving, and one that allows me to sleep at night knowing that my 95-​year-​old grandma is cared for well. They’ve been an all around blessing – to our family.

Have you ever seen their website, it claims to have the best nurses, and they have the best Nursing homes. Please what a LIE. The Memory Care section building has only been open since January of this year. Their director Stephen is more concern about how the building looks then how its being run. I asked him if he had a suggestion box or something I could fill out about the staff, and he said no not yet. The nurses and most of the CNA’s make up their own rules, they take forever to answer the call button. They come and say they will return and sometimes never come back. Most of the staff are rude and treat the patients with no respect or dignity. The patients are afraid of the staff. They don’t watch the patients, they walk around on their own without their walkers even though most are a fall risk. Certain nurses will lie to your face, and tell you they did something when they didn’t. Then they talk about you for saying something. Most of the CNA’s have negative attitudes and complain about their job. I tried to tell Stephen about his staff and he seriously didn’t want to listen to me, I told him they needed a camera by the nurses station so they can see that they sit at the computer more then they take care of the patients needs. I seen so many of the patients walking around with black eyes and even know of a few patients that have died, probably because of the lack of care, most of these patients can not tell them if they are being treated badly. But even if they could nothing would be done. They have a patient that goes around hitting and fighting with other patients that can not defend themselves, and they continues to let them be among the other patients. If the patients are unable to feed themselves, they seriously don’t eat. One patient had a heart attack and no one was able to perform CPR, a new staff member knew CPR, but the patient end up dying. The lady over the Physical Therapy by the name of Renita, was the most unprofessional and uncaring women there. She talks about the patients she doesn’t like and she cancels therapy on patients and never even tells them that she did. She is so rude towards the patients, I can’t believe she is even allowed to work there. They claim that the staff takes a course on how to deal with patients with dementia, well you could never tell. They hire new nurses and they never seem to last, they should get an award for having the worst nurses. I even complained to one of the head nurses about some CNA’s and nothing was done. Patients are sometimes yelling that they need help and they just roll their eyes and ignore them. I really don’t understand why these patients family members can’t see the fear in their love ones eyes, because they don’t want to be there. The website doesn’t allow you to write reviews. This place seriously needs to be closed down, Too many patients are being mistreated or even die from the lack of care. All the people in the front offices need to be fired especially Stephen. I wish there was a way to warn the families that go their for a tour, they lie about what is offered to the patients, the only thing that looks good is the building and that is only because its a new building. I hope the state will show up and close this place down. Its only a good place to families that do not care for their love ones, and just want them out of their lives, they will truly end up dying in this place. They went two weeks with no supplies, no gauze, no wipes or tape, and no one even tried to go next door to borrow any for the patients, or even go buy some from the dollar store, This place is seriously a joke. There is less then a hand full of the staff that do their job correctly. I couldn’t even get a number to the head of the corporation so I could call and let them know about how this place is being run. If anyone knows it please post it on here. There are three other reviews on here about this place, please read them. No one had one positive thing about this place.
