Stopped in for lunch before jury duty, grabbed a BLT. It was ok, the bacon was fatty and the tomatoes were pretty yellow. The lettuce was fresh and the fries were great, so not a total wash.

Very good home style hamburgers and fries, at pretty good prices! They have a good assortment of café grub to choose from.
Better bring your patience and have some time to wait, because with one person on the grill and one person taking orders (who helps put the order together) you may not hear your number for at least 20 minutes. I like the fact that the burgers are pretty much cooked fresh and the food is piping hot when you get it, I just have to manage my hour lunch in order to enjoy it all.

Unilocal came through again!!! Was downtown looking for a great burger… Rachel’s was the place and they did not disappoint! Great bacon cheeseburger DONE RIGHT. Fries were awesome and everyone in my party of 4 gave it 5 STARS! Will definitely come back the next time I’m in the area.

Tried this place for the first time because it got some pretty good reviews and was close to Minute Maid Park. We were on our way to the Astros game.
I’ve gotta say. I’ve had a lot of burgers. This is definitely one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve had. The only complaint I had was that the bacon needed to be cooked a bit longer. It was a bit chewy. But that is a minor complaint. The onion rings were amazing and fresh.
The atmosphere was cool. They played 50s music over the speakers. Owner and helper were very nice and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be going back!

Went by for breakfast and ordered the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. I added sausage to try something different and Wow! Loaded with bacon and fresh sausage (not a typical patty), this thing will fill you up and leave you satisfied.
Highly recommend visiting Rachel’s for breakfast, but it sounds like their burgers are amazing too. Will have to give one of them a try next time I’m in town.

I love this place! I go there for lunch. They have one of the best burgers Ive had in Houston and Ive tried most places recommended on Unilocal.You also have to try their onion rings. I cant speak about the rest of the food because I always get the same thing, although my coworkers order the turkey burger and fried pickles. This isnt a place to order salads so go with regular diner food.

Amazing. Really good burger and fries! Came on a Saturday so it wasn’t that packed. Solid service, delivered more than I expected, and great place for lunch or a midday snack. Atmospherically, it’s a traditional café, nothing special. Good experience and quality restaurant.

The staff was really friendly and helpful, and accommodating to special food requests. The space was cute, and the Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich was amazing! Onion rings were thick, crispy and delicious. Love this place! Very unassuming from the outside, but stop in if you’re craving fried comfort food!

We are on a roadtrip from Miami and decided to stop by Houston to get a little break and something to eat (And meet the city as well), we asked a person that was walking by about a good local restaurant around the area and he told me about Rachels, so me and my friends decided to come by, the prices were great and the quality of the food was awesome, loved their cheeseburger and fries, highly recommended!
