My fiancé and I had dinner & drinks here earlier this week. We started with the guacamole which I liked, my fiancé thought it had to much lime. The owner also brought out their house salsa since it was our first time there, it was fantastic. For our main courses I got the combo plate & my fiancé got the mushroom burger with sweet potato fries. The portions were both a good size and delicious. I also had a frozen prickly pear margarita, perfect to help beat that Houston heat. We will definitely be back again!

Met my sister and brother-in-law for dinner last night at this cute, little neighborhood gem. The owner/chef Terry Flores greeted me as soon as I arrived and my drink order was promptly served. It was steak night so we all ordered the special. The steaks were perfectly grilled and served with a huge baked potato. Salad & potato trimmings are self-serve at a table by the entrance. Atmosphere is nice and cozy with cool tunes in the background. All-in-all a great dining experience and now our«steak night» favorite!

The server didn’t know about The happy hour nor did he remember what was on the menu he also didn’t know what the happy hour hours were and that made it very difficult for us to order or to figure out drinks which resulted in slow service which then resulted into him telling us that he didn’t eat here and he had no idea what the food tasted like. Not a good look

Pleasantly surprised! As a real Mexican food snob I was surprised after trying the enchiladas verdes and the flautas, it was like they had come out from my abuelita’s kitchen. Great salsa verde with a tangy flavor and stringy cheese on the enchiladas were the high lite of my night! Small place with a home-made flavor, friendly service and great margarita’s are a perfect recipe for a casual date night or friend’s night out.

Came here to try steak night with some friends. They really need to take this place off the Houston steak night website. It is a waste of money, the service sucks and the steak was not worth a penny. You can go to 3 – 4 other steak nights for the same price and it would be 100 times better, some places are also cheaper and have better food and service. We waited 20 or so minutes before I had to ask someone to get our drink order, 45 min later someone decided to take our food order, after they saw we were over it then they gave us our check, while all this time in-between no one came back to ask if we needed anything our to refill our drinks, we had to get up and go to the bar to get more drinks. The servers had no issues going to all the other tables around us and making sure they had what they needed.

This is the real deal. The chicken molè is to die for. It is the best I have ever had. It is delicate and spicy with extremely clean and bountiful chicken and a nice topping of cheese. We are lifelong Houstonians and I have never had molè that good. The spinach enchiladas were authentic with a really tasty tangy sauce. The refried beans were super flavorful and not the usual pasty mash. The fajita was a real flank steak but not gristly and very tasty. My better half loved the banana walnut empañadas as well. I wanted to go back immediately tonight for more molè! Unfortunately I am going to have to wait. My loss. This place is fantastic.

I’ve only been here once but the owners are really nice and friendly which always makes for better rating food. I recommend this place for good burgers and chips. I haven’t tried the rest of the menu but I’m sure it’s good.

Well, well. I came across this place from my fellow Unilocalers and decided 2 try it out. Wednesday’s is $ 15 steak night which includes steak, baked potato(DIY), salad and beer/wine of your choice. I must say this is a great deal! The place was small but very cozy and the staff were extra friendly. In coming from 103 degree heat, it was nice that the inside was very cool. I sat at the bar where there was a TV and another regular dining in. There was a small area where you fix your own salad and baked potato the way you like it. I ordered a glass of Riesling and the steak, medium well. Note: you don’t get much wine so sip sloooow. Anywho, it took about 10 minutes and my steak was finished! It did lack a little flavor and had lots of fatty parts but it was still enjoyable with the help of some steak sauce. The menu listed tres leches as one of the desserts(NOT included in the steak deal) but they were out. Before I left more people were slowly showing up. You can tell they get a lot of regulars as the manager seemed to recognize almost everyone that walked in. Except me! Lol. All in all, it was a good deal for $ 15($ 16.24 w/tax) and if I’m in the area I’d return.

First, the negatives. We went in July and it was HOT inside. People were bringing personal fans, and even the owner was sweating. So the A/C needs an upgrade. Secondly, the service is so-so. All of this would be ok if the owner was not in the room. Our waitress, although incredibly sweet, had no knowledge of the drinks and very little knowledge of the menu. I think she needs some coaching. After having water glasses that were empty for 10 minutes, with the owner passing right by 3 – 4 times, we finally flagged down our waitress to get more. Now, the pretty good stuff. The queso is decent and the drinks are pretty good. The pear margarita is tasty, but a little too sweet and SUPER strong. I like my drinks more on the balanced side. The ambiance is cute but a little loud(loud music plus concrete/wood = LOUD). Maybe turn down the music… we could barely hear our little waitress. Seating isn’t super comfortable but seems like most places are like that these days. The rice was so-so. Despite all of this, the food really is very good. The spinach enchiladas were outstanding. The combo plate was decent(the taquito was very good, and the crispy beef taco was tasty). The refried pinto beans are great! The portabello fajitas are very good as well! I would not recommend the fried fish tacos — I’ve had better most other places. The portions were nice — not too huge but plenty to eat. The chips were crispy and fresh. :) I think we’ll be back in the fall when it’s COOLER outside(and hopefully inside!) and when maybe they have some of the service kinks worked out. It has a lot of potential, but needs a little tweaking.

This place popped up in yesterday’s Events feed listing Wed. Steak Night. I figured why the hell not! I wanted a steak, but didn’t really feel like cooking. Got parked & walking towards the door I could smell those steaks sizziling on the grill! Love the décor inside. Lots of mixed woods & neat lil hangings on the walls. This place is very clean & orderly. Was greeted & seated quickly by the nice guys behind the bar. Placed my order for my medium rare steak & was given the green light to help myself to making a salad. Great mix of field greens, carrorts & other veggies which were all very fresh. It didn’t take long for my steak & potato to arrive. Both were piping hot, just the way I like it. Then came the true test… cut the steak &BINGO!!! Steak cooked medium to a perfect T!!! The flavor of the steak was excellent as well. Very juicy & flavorful! Not overloaded with salt & other spices so you can’t actually taste the meat itself. Great job! The potato was also a nice size & the toppings are DIY, which is never a bad thing. A nice juicy steak, loaded tater, fresh salad, a glass of red & friendly service for $ 15 on Hump Day? I’m sold! I will definitely be back to try other menu items, including that Prickly Pear Rita, & to sit out on the patio once it cools off a bit. Check ‘em out if you’re in the area.

Good find in a random spot! Staff/owner were super friendly and down to earth. Décor inside was real homey and inviting, very nicely set up. I’d love to be there in the spring/fall when the garage door is rolled up… They have a nice patio and a couple TVs so it seems like a good spot to hang. This was our first time here. It was Wed and steak night was a great deal. Cooked on a nice charcoal grill, and cooked medium rare PERFECTLY! That also came w a baked potato and salad which you could top yourself. We’ll have to go again to try their Mexican food(and especially fajitas which others said were good.) Food: 3.5 Drinks: 3.5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 Price: 5 Overall, this is great little spot on the other side of the heights… don’t let the neighborhood deceive you. Check it out when you get a chance!

I like this place. Went for lunch and decide don this place on a whim… cause they got chorizo burgers!!! Yeahhhh! Finding this place and seeing the exterior, seeing that it’s nestled in a neighborhood, felt like going to Petrol Station. Which is a good thing, kinda cool. They got a window garage door that opens to patio. Inside designed kinda cool with reclaimed wood walls, eclectic oil paintings, and neat graffiti. They opened for the last 3 months from the date of my review. Menu looks good, mix between burger and Mexican. I got the chorizo burger, gooooood. Chunks of paprika pork sausage in my burger be muy bueno! They got 4 beers on tap, I had the santos. Fridays is 1 dollar off booze and wed is $ 15 steak night. I gotta see this place at night. Peace out will be back
