Saadeddin Sweets

After several travels to the Middle East, I had been in much need to find a place that has Knafeh in Houston. Looking at Unilocal reviews and googling around, this was one place that popped up.
Going into it with low expectations (since I thought nothing could be compared to the Knafeh I had at Habibah Sweets hidden in an alleyway in Amman), I walked thru the door into an empty and quiet shop. I took a look at what they had and I saw two types of Knafeh along with a few other desserts. After waiting a few minutes, a woman emerged from the kitchen and told me they have one with cheese and one with cream cheese. I chose the one with cheese even though I initially thought it looked different from what I’ve tried (the pictures of the Knafeh posted from another Unilocaler were A LOT different from what was there… maybe they changed it since then?). I asked her if they make them daily and she said «yes.» As I came midday, she told me to heat it up for a few minutes when I got home since I wanted it to-​go.
Anyways, the Knafeh did not taste very good and was not at all reminiscent of those that I ate in Jordan. The cheese was not the same and it felt like a lot was missing from the dessert. All I could taste was cheese… it didn’t even have any sweetness to it. Oh, and it was $ 5 a piece which I thought was a little pricey but maybe that’s the norm?
I guess I gotta keep looking around! Stay tuned!

This place is a great spot to try Arabic sweets. I tried Knafeh here for the first time and fell in love. It’s cheesy, gooey, nutty, and oh soooooo delicious. I had dreams about their Knafeh after trying it. The owner was super nice and let me try a huge piece of Knafeh for free. Service is great, and the sweets are fresh and delicious. It’s in the same center as Byblos, so make sure to visit this delicious place if you’re ever headed to Byblos, or visit this center just for their Knafeh. It’s worth the drive, and a MUST try! So, go get yourself a piece of Knafeh and enjoy its glorious yumminess.

The place is clean they have good variety of sweets. I tried the KNAFAH with cheese it was good.
